Free Basketball Picks 11/7/2008
November 7, 2008
Friday’s featured free basketball pick comes from expert handicapper Jimmy Boyd. Jimmy nailed his only basketball play last night on the Portland Trailblazers. Here’s a recap of Jimmy’s pick on the game:
3* NBA on TNT SMASH on Blazers +5
The Blazers led most of the second half against Utah last night before giving the game away late. I like Portland to rebound from that loss at home tonight. The half court style of basketball that Houston plays does not give the Rockets many opportunities to blow teams out, especially on the road. I expect this one to go right down to the wire with Portland pulling out the game. Portland is 27-13 ATS in home games when playing against a team with a winning record over the last 3 seasons, winning these games outright on average. This young Blazers team gives everyone it faces its best shot. After back-to-back games on the road, the Trailblazers will be happy to return home where they are a much better team. Take the points.
From one easy winner to another, let’s see what Jimmy is putting on out in the NBA for free on Friday:
1 Unit FREE PLAY on Dallas Mavericks +1
Denver is now just 1-3 on the season with its only win coming against the lowly Clippers as defense continues to be the weakness of this team. Dallas is 2-0 SU and ATS on the road this season and has an extra day of rest on the Nuggets coming into this one. The Nuggets are 0-5 ATS in their last 5 after allowing 100 points or more in their previous game and 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games following an ATS loss. It doesn’t matter if Billups is able to go or not for the Nuggets as there is going to be an adjustment period. Denver likely stakes a small step backwards before it can move forward. Take the Mavs.
