06-11-26 Golden Knights v. Hurricanes UNDER 6.5 Top 2-4 Win 100 27 h 37 m Show

(#19) Vegas Golden Knights @ (#20) Carolina Hurricanes | UNDER | .

All four of the games in this series so far have gone "over" the total and with significant ease. That has made this total move from 5.5 in Gm1 to 6.5 here in Gm5. It's time to see a much lower scoring game on Thursday evening. With the series tied at two games a piece, this pivotal Game 5 could most definitely determine who's going to win the cup. However either team turns to in the crease (I do expect both Gm4 starters to play,) I believe that this matchup is going to be much lower scoring.

Considering all of the scoring, I haven't been unimpressed with the goaltending. There's been unlucky bounces & fantastic snipes into the top corner that these goalies simply can't save. That being said, the nerves are going to be high for everyone back in Carolina & I expect not as many grade A chances to be had. Don't let the first four games of this series fool you. These are still two very strong defensive teams. Hammer the "under" in Game 5.

Burns' Prediction: 3-2 Carolina.

05-16-26 Sabres v. Canadiens UNDER 6.5 8-3 Loss -122 24 h 57 m Show

(#43) Buffalo Sabres @ (#44) Montreal Canadiens | UNDER | .

Game 5 started out very fast with five goals in the opening period. I do not think that this one's going to be nearly as high flying, especially early in the game. Buffalo now faces elimination & I expect the Sabres to go back to Alex Lyon for this contest. He's been elite throughout the playoffs, despite a few lapses in this round so far.

On the other hand, Montreal is definitely ecstatic coming back home with a 3-2 series lead. Back at the Bell Centre, the Canadiens are now favorites to win this series. One thing that's stood out is the goaltending, especially when the games have mattered. Give me the "under" in this one on Saturday.

Burns' Prediction: 3-2 Canadiens.

05-08-26 Canadiens v. Sabres UNDER 6 Top 5-1 Push 0 29 h 44 m Show

(#13) Montreal Canadiens @ (#14) Buffalo Sabres | UNDER | .

From early scoring to very solid defensive play, Game 1 saw a bit of everything. Yes, there were six goals in the opening 37 minutes of that game. But, the final 23 minutes were absolutely scoreless & I'm expecting that to carry on into this game on Friday. Postseason hockey is very demanding & physical. A long seven game series with Tampa didn't help MTL's cause in that opening game of this series. I see the Canadiens having a much better goaltending performance on Friday in this massive Game 2.

Buffalo looked sharp, as it has all season long. However, the Sabres did only produce a single shot in the 3rd period. As a matter of fact, Buffalo had just 16 shots on the whole game. I do think that this game will be much more even in the shot department. But, both goaltenders should hold up. Give me the "under" in Game 2.

Burns' Prediction: 2-1 Canadiens.

05-03-26 Wild v. Avalanche OVER 5.5 6-9 Win 100 20 h 18 m Show

(#77) Minnesota Wild @ (#78) Colorado Avalanche | OVER | .

Many of the games in these playoffs have been going "under" and although I'm all for great defensive battles, it's also nice to see a high scoring affair once in a while too. Colorado's offense got stifled a bit against LAK, despite winning in four games. The Avalanche should have a bit of an easier time finding the back of the net in this series, with so much talent on display.

Minnesota had the much harder opening series, beating Dallas in six games. But, the Stars could hardly score in 5v5. I expect both offenses to get going early and often in this one. Both teams started to wake up offensively over the past two as well, scoring nine goals each in those contests. Give me the "over."

Burns' Prediction: 5-3 Avalanche.

04-22-26 Penguins v. Flyers OVER 5.5 Top 2-5 Win 100 17 h 14 m Show

(#61) Pittsburgh Penguins @ (#62) Philadelphia Flyers | OVER | .

In both of the first two games of this series, Pittsburgh's offense has been shutdown. I'm not so sure that's going to be the case in Game 3, even on the road. Over the course of the season, the Penguins averaged 3.537 goals per game, which was the 3rd highest rate in the entire NHL. Considering how hot the Flyers are at the moment, the Pens are going to need to be at their best offensively and they know it.

Talking about Phialdelphia, it's scored three in both of the first two games. As a matter of fact, the Flyers have now scored 3+ in seven straight games. Over those games, they are averaging four a game. Now, with a 2-0 cushion, heading back home, Philadelphia doesn't have much pressure on its shoulders at the moment. But, with a coach like Rick Tocchet, the Flyers are definitely going to want to press measures even further to grab a 3-0 series lead in the "Battle Of Pennsylvania."

I've got the "over" in this one. It should be a high scoring & electrifying encounter.

Burns' Prediction: 4-3 Penguins.

04-09-26 Wild v. Stars UNDER 6.5 Top 4-5 Loss -135 24 h 6 m Show

(#67) Minnesota Wild @ (#68) Dallas Stars | UNDER | .

Playing in the Central Division alongside one another, these games are pretty much always intense. Minnesota's bulked up for a postseason push this year while Dallas always remains a contender in the Western Conference. Because these teams are #2 and #3 in the division, this is going to be the opening series of the playoffs. One thing to note is that this game could decide who's going to get home ice advantage in that series. So, this is practically game one.

Having said that, both teams should want to be at their best. Defensively, the Stars have been really solid on this current home stand, allowing five goals so far over the three games. This game is going to be a hard one. But, I expect Jake Oettinger to be up for the task. When these teams played a few weeks ago, it was an overtime game with the Wild winning 2-1. I expect another game just like that with only a goal or two separating these teams in a fantastic low scoring affair.

Burns' Prediction: 3-1 Stars.

04-04-26 Jets v. Blue Jackets UNDER 6.5 Top 2-1 Win 100 26 h 31 m Show

(#69) Winnipeg Jets @ (#70) Columbus Blue Jackets | UNDER | .

Coming off an 0-3 loss last time out, the Winnipeg Jets are still very much in must-win situations until the end of the season. Three points back, it's not completely out of reach. But, not performing in a game like this would be a massive blow to the Winnipeg playoff hopes. What needs to take place? Well, it starts with perhaps the best goalie in hockey in Connor Hellebuyck. Other than his gold medal winning performance in Italy, he hasn't been his normal self this season. He has played better since then. But, he needs to show up tonight and each and every night going forward. I expect him to have a massive game between the pipes this evening.

Looking at Columbus, I expect it to go back to Jet Greaves after Merzļikins suffered the loss last time out. The Blue Jackets have lost five consecutive games and also see themselves outside of the playoffs looking in. This is of course on the Eastern Conference for CBJ. Having said that, I expect a great showing from the Jackets net-minder as well, who's more than capable as we've seen down the stretch of the season. This is going to be an all-out defensive war on Saturday evening. Hammer the "under." This is my #1 NHL TOTAL OF THE YEAR.

Burns' Prediction: 3-1 Jets.

04-03-26 Flyers v. Islanders OVER 5.5 Top 4-1 Loss -125 24 h 22 m Show

(#55) Philadelphia Flyers @ (#56) New York Islanders | OVER | .

I expect this one to be quite high scoring on Friday evening. The Islanders are currently holding the 3rd position in the Metro Division while the Flyers are two points back of a playoff spots. That makes this game extremely important for both teams. Now, even though that might make you think that a "playoff" type of game like this would see more intensity and defensive efforts, hockey is a bit different as the teams play pretty similar throughout the season opposed to NBA when the teams really start to turn up. Philadelphia has scored at least four goals in four consecutive games played on the road. Not only that, but their most recent one was a 6-4 loss against Washington, who's another team playing for a spot in the playoffs right now. New York needs to bounce back offensively because the goaltending has been extremely poor, allowing 12 goals over its past couple of contests. I expect both teams to find the back of the net at least a couple of times here on Friday.

Burns' Prediction: 5-3 Islanders.

03-29-26 Bruins v. Blue Jackets UNDER 6.5 Top 4-3 Loss -130 14 h 4 m Show

(#67) Boston Bruins @ (#68) Columbus Blue Jackets | UNDER | .

Both teams played on Saturday and I believe that this is going to be an extra tough game for both of these sides. Boston's gotten quite lucky at times this season with a much weaker expected goals for than the actual output having scored quite a bit. On the road, the Bruins have definitely been weaker as well, losing more than winning. Even with the Korpisalo projected between the pipes, they should be able to shut Columbus slow though as every game is some important right now. The Blue Jackets haven't been impressive to me throughout this season even despite having a strong run to end Feb and begin March. They've lost consecutive games now and have scored just three over their past couple of games. Greaves should be back in net tonight and he's been stellar. Hammer the "under."

Burns' Prediction: 3-1 Blue Jackets.

03-26-26 Wild v. Panthers OVER 6 3-2 Loss -110 16 h 28 m Show

(#11) Minnesota Wild @ (#12) Florida Panthers | OVER | .

I know that it's sometimes difficult to predict the number of goals in games with playoff bound teams against opponents that aren't going to make it. However, I believe that these teams are going to put on a show in the goal scoring department in this contest on Thursday. Not only does Minnesota need this game. But, it's lost five of its past seven games which has it sitting five points back of the Stars now. If the Wild want home ice advantage for at least a series in the playoffs, they are going to have to start winning a lot more games than they have. Florida, on the other hand, has been much weaker defensively this season allowing 3.31 goals per game which is 27th best in the NHL. The Panthers still have the talent to score the puck as well. Give me the "over" in this one.

Burns' Prediction: 5-3 Wild.

03-18-26 Devils v. Rangers OVER 5.5 Top 6-3 Win 100 23 h 9 m Show

(#31) New Jersey Devils @ (#32) New York Rangers | OVER | .

While both of these two teams are pretty much eliminated from the playoffs, I do believe that there's plenty of value on the "over" in this game. New Jersey has been turning up the heat lately, scoring 10 goals over its past couple of contests. Well what's happened over the past two times the Devils faced the Rangers? They've also put up 10 goals in those games.

New York, on the other hand, has been playing much better since the Olympic Break as well. As much as the Rangers would like to have a good draft pick, the NHL is great in the way that teams are still going to try until the end of the season, not benching it's stars. NYR has scored 21 goals over its past five games. Give me the "over" in this one. I like it at 5.5 & 6.0.

Burns' Prediction: 4-3 Rangers.

03-16-26 Penguins v. Avalanche OVER 6.5 7-2 Win 100 20 h 41 m Show

(#9) Pittsburgh Penguins @ (#10) Colorado Avalanche | OVER | .

I know that Pittsburgh has been going "over" the number at a pretty high rate recently. But, that doesn't scare me off for this contest with Colorado. With pedestrian defensive work & goaltending this season, the Penguins are a team that's going to play in high scoring games and it's as simple as that. Offensively though, Pittsburgh does its best work, averaging 3.36 goals per game, 29.1 shots on goal per game and a 25% PP%. All three of those rank top 10 in the NHL. Colorado, on the other hand, remains the number one team in terms of offense, ranking 1st in both SOG and goals per game (33.9 & 3.75.) The Avs do play great defense, allowing the least amount of goals per game. But, having given up three and losing against Winnipeg (I won with the Jets) last time out, I could see that many goals being conceded again here. Either way, expect Colorado's offense to look much better than it did over the weekend and that should lead to a high scoring affair.

Burns' Prediction: 5-3 Avalanche.

03-14-26 Blackhawks v. Golden Knights UNDER 6.5 Top 0-4 Win 100 27 h 7 m Show

(#61) Chicago Blackhawks @ (#62) Vegas Golden Knights | UNDER | .

Last season Chicago wasn't good offensively at all. This year, the Blackhawks have continued that trend and rank 4th last in goals per game at 2.65. Chicago has won consecutive games, and definitely could be in for a tough outing here today. But, I do believe that the goaltending of the Blackhawks is playing much better and should be able to keep Vegas from running up the score.

Before Thursday, the Golden Knights had been struggling to put the puck in the back of the net. As a matter of fact, it had been 13 goals in their most recent seven games before the six goal outburst. Even if Vegas puts up four in this one, I don't think Chicago's going to score enough to send this one "over." Expect a low scoring game here on Saturday evening.

Burns' Prediction: 3-2 Vegas.

03-13-26 Kings v. Islanders UNDER 5.5 3-2 Win 100 16 h 46 m Show

(#33) Los Angeles Kings @ (#34) New York Islanders | UNDER | .

These teams matched up not long ago and it finished in a pretty high scoring contest. I don't believe that this one will be as high scoring. On the year, the Kings have been going "under" quite often, especially against foes from the Eastern Conference. As a matter of fact, the "under" is 10-3 in those games played on the road this season.

Both teams are bottom ten in goals per game as well as top 10 in goals allowed per game this season. Prior to the outlier in their last game, these teams had seen four straight games feature five goals or less. I'm expecting another low scoring contest on Friday evening.

Burns' Prediction: 2-1 Kings.

01-31-26 Devils v. Senators UNDER 6 1-4 Win 100 9 h 29 m Show

(#45) New Jersey Devils @ (#46) Ottawa Senators | UNDER | .

Jack Hughes is dealing with another lower body injury and could be forced to miss this game. Even if he plays, I don't expect him to be at 100% and that might change things within the Devils lineup. New Jersey has already struggled to score this season even with him playing and/or not, averaging 2.61 goals per game.

For the Senators, they've been playing great defense lately. As a matter of fact, they've allowed three goals over the past two games against both very strong foes in Colorado and Vegas. I expect Ottawa to keep it up and win this game, but I love the "under" even more as a selection on Saturday.

Burns' Prediction: 3-1 Sens.

01-15-26 Maple Leafs v. Golden Knights UNDER 6.5 Top 5-6 Loss -125 25 h 47 m Show

(#27) Toronto Maple Leafs @ (#28) Vegas Golden Knights | UNDER | .

Last season, I was fortunate to be able to watch both of these teams play in a game in Toronto on November 20th. That game finished 3-0 and was an all out defensive battle. I know that there's been a meeting since and all. But, I believe that when these teams play, it's a physical battle and even more so now that Marner is on the Golden Knights.

Before losing on Tuesday, the Maple Leafs had won four consecutive games. The goaltending has been fantastic allowing only 11 goals over their past five games (that incl. six in the most recent game.) I expect the Leafs to get back to what's gotten them back in it on Thursday and that should help them have a good chance in this game.

Vegas hasn't been nearly as strong this year as I expected. But, the Golden Knights are finally starting to heat up as well, winning four straight games. Both teams are playing with urgency & know the consequences of more defeats. Expect a hard fought low scoring contest on Thursday evening.

Burns' Prediction: 2-1 Leafs.

01-10-26 Lightning v. Flyers OVER 5.5 Top 7-2 Win 100 16 h 22 m Show

(#9) Tampa Bay Lightning @ (#10) Philadelphia Flyers | OVER | .

Tampa is scorching hot at the moment. I mean, it was expected that the Lightning were supposed to be good again. But, an eight game winning streak during a campaign is excellent for any team to endure. The Lightning are currently on a streak of that many wins and have scored 34 goals over those eight games. That's an average of 4.25 goals per game!

Philadelphia, on the other hand, just lost a tough OT game against the Maple Leafs. The Flyers remain at home though where they've done most of their damage throughout the season. I believe that they are going to have to step up the scoring in this contest as it could get wild.

Both teams like to give up a ton of penalty minutes and that could give the other team opportunities to score more. I know that the Flyers have a terrible PP this season. But, a power play is obviously going to help any team at the end of the day. Give me the "over" in this one on Saturday evening.

Burns' Prediction: 5-3 Lightning .

01-06-26 Stars v. Hurricanes UNDER 6.5 3-6 Loss -110 20 h 57 m Show

(#17) Dallas Stars @ (#18) Carolina Hurricanes | UNDER | .

While both teams are definitely talented offensively with loads of weapons, the defenses of both teams are phenomenal as well. Dallas remains in the top five of the NHL in goals allowed per game this season and kill penalties at a dominant rate. That's going to help the Stars keep this game tight and close on Tuesday.

Carolina's had a bit of unluckiness with goaltending but has found a stud in Bussi who's expected to get the start once again. The kid is 14-2-1 this year with a GAA of only 2.25. Over the past six times that these sides have faced off against another, there's been five games that stayed "under." I see another low scoring affair taking place on Tuesday.

Burns' Prediction: 3-1 Canes.

01-03-26 Predators v. Flames UNDER 5.5 Top 4-3 Loss -101 16 h 7 m Show

(#57) Nashville Predators @ (#58) Calgary Flames | UNDER | .

Nashville has been one of the most unpredictable teams so far this season as we near the mid-way point in the season. While the Predators have done a much better job at staying in the playoff race than they did a year ago, they still aren't at the level of some of these top teams whatsoever. Nashville has allowed 15 goals over its past six games which is an average of 2.5 per game which isn't bad.

Calgary, on the other hand, actually owns the exact same record as Nashville at the moment at 18-18-4. The Flames' goaltending has kept them in games and they've allowed an average of only 2.88 goals per game this season which is definitely in the top half of the NHL. Calgary doesn't score too many goals either at just 2.65 per game itself. I've got the "under" in this one.

Burns' Prediction: 3-1 Flames.

12-16-25 Flames v. Sharks OVER 5.5 Top 3-6 Win 100 29 h 13 m Show

(#41) Calgary Flames @ (#42) San Jose Sharks | OVER | .

Even though I do believe that Calgary is one of the worst teams in the Western Conference of the NHL, it's hard to ignore the fact that it's been cooking lately. Not so much in goal scoring, but it's been winning at a much higher clip. That being said, the Flames are going to have to score against one of the youngest , goal hungry teams in the NHL on Tuesday.

San Jose doesn't have the greatest numbers in terms of goals per game or anything. However, the Sharks can put up goals in bunches and that definitely could happen on Tuesday at home in California. They just pulled off an epic OT win comeback against the Penguins being down 5-1 with 13 minutes left and winning 6-5. That'll definitely bring more goal scoring confidence to the entire team for this game against the team that leads the NHL in penalty minutes per game.

I expect this to be a high scoring affair on Tuesday. Both teams will expect victory and that will lead to tons of shots. Give me the "over" as my PACIFIC DIV. TOY.

Burns' Prediction: 5-3 Sharks.

12-05-25 Capitals v. Ducks OVER 6.5 Top 3-4 Win 100 16 h 7 m Show

(#29) Washington Capitals @ (#30) Anaheim Ducks | OVER | .

Coming into this game, Washington's been on fire. The Capitals have now won six consecutive games and just dropped seven goals on the Sharks in their most recent contest. I believe that Ovi and co. will be fired up for another matchup on the west coast against a defense that's not great on Friday.

Anaheim remains the #1 team in the Pacific despite the recent struggles and the lack of success between the pipes. Luckily for the Ducks, they are tied for third in goals scored per game which helps. That means that both of these teams are top 3 in the NHL in that category, both averaging practically 3.5 per game.

I believe that both teams will use this opportunity to pile on more goals this evening as that's what both love to do. This is my #1 NHL TOTAL OF THE MONTH.

Burns' Prediction: 5-3 Capitals.

11-28-25 Predators v. Blackhawks OVER 5.5 Top 4-3 Win 100 31 h 14 m Show

(#85) Nashville Predators @ (#86) Chicago Blackhawks | OVER | .

Nashville has been pretty bad again this season. Dead last in the Western Conference at the moment, the Predators are coming off a good offensive performance at the very least. They scored six goals in that game, but still allowed three. That's now 20 combined goals w/ their opponents over the past two games.

On the other hand, Chicago has really cooled off and giving up goals has been a problem. Over this four game losing streak, the Blackhawks have allowed 17 goals. That's more than four a game. Now, it was promising that they were able to get a point vs. Minnesota in their most recent game. So, this game should be competitive.

I believe that with two teams having struggles defensively, that should open up more chances offensively for at least one of these sides to get going again. Hammer the "over" on Friday evening.

Burns' Prediction: 5-3 Predators.

11-20-25 Golden Knights v. Utah Mammoth UNDER 6.5 4-1 Win 100 11 h 31 m Show

(#39) Vegas Golden Knights @ (#40) Utah Mammoth | UNDER | .

Even though I believe that Vegas is probably going to win this game and end up as the better team out of these two sides, I do believe that this should be a very defensive focussed game by both teams. The Golden Knights have allowed an excellent 2.4 goals per game on the road this season in eight games.

Utah, on the other hand, is sliding down the standings. It's lost seven of eight and even though it's still got 10 wins this season, it must turn this around. The Mammoth have been pretty good defensively, even in this poor run though having not allowed more than three goals in four consecutive games. Expect both teams to have great goaltending on Thursday.

Burns' Prediction: 3-1 Vegas.

11-11-25 Ducks v. Avalanche OVER 6.5 1-4 Loss -125 14 h 56 m Show

(#63) Anaheim Ducks @ (#64) Colorado Avalanche [ OVER ] .

The "over" is expected in this game due to the fact that Anaheim can't stop scoring. The addition of Chris Kreider and Beckett Sennecke has really created so many scoring opportunities for this group and Leo Carlsson is having a career year at the moment. I expect the Ducks to continue to score throughout the year and even give the Avs a run for their money on the road.

Talking about Colorado though, it's scorching hot right now, leading the Central Division in points. Over the past two games, the Avalanche have scored 14 total goals. That's incredible. With both of these high powered offenses, I'm expecting goals galore on Tuesday evening in Denver. Hammer the "over."

Burns' Prediction: 6-3 Avalanche.

11-08-25 Avalanche v. Oilers OVER 6 9-1 Win 100 30 h 21 m Show

(#21) Colorado Avalanche @ (#22) Edmonton Oilers | OVER | .

Nathan MacKinnon continues to rack up points for the Avs and I don't see him slowing down anytime soon on Saturday against the Oilers. Even though both of the goaltending from these teams has been solid so far this season, these two high powered offenses should be enough to see this game finish with quite a few goals this weekend.

Edmonton's duo of superstars in McDavid & Draisaitl are hot as well. Yes, McDavid hasn't scored much yet. But, he did in his last game and I wouldn't be shocked if he found the back of the net again. I just don't see this one staying low scoring. Hammer the "over."

Burns' Prediction: 5-4 Edmonton.

11-08-25 Islanders v. Rangers UNDER 6 5-0 Win 100 11 h 31 m Show

(#15) New York Islanders @ (#16) New York Rangers | UNDER | .

With both Sorokin & Shesterkin expected between the pipes in this game, I believe that we're going to see a lower scoring game in the battle of New York this evening. The Islanders have cooled off a bit, scoring just five goals over the past two games in losses.

On the other hand, the Rangers have the best goaltending in hockey. They allow 2.33 goals per game (#1) and are excellent on the penalty kill. The Rangers don't tend to score much either though averaging the same amount of goals per game themselves as allowed. That's second worst in the NHL. Another low scoring contest should be on the cards for Saturday.

Burns' Prediction: 3-1 Rangers.

11-03-25 Blackhawks v. Seattle Kraken OVER 5.5 Top 1-3 Loss -130 28 h 57 m Show

(#7) Chicago Blackhawks @ (#8) Seattle Kraken | OVER | .

Goal scoring had a been a problem for the Chicago Blackhawks over the past couple of seasons and that had led to some very low scoring games throughout those years. So far this campaign, however, the Blackhawks are scoring much much more and that's allowing them to stay in the middle of the pack in the Western Conference.

Seattle hasn't seen as many high scoring games, averaging 5.64 goals combined with its opponents so far. Nonetheless, that's still more than tonight's o/u line. I believe that the Kraken should jump at this opportunity to play a weaker defensive team and put some goals in the back of the net.

Both teams will be hoping for a result and I could definitely see both reaching three goals. Perhaps one of these teams will pull away late. But, either way, this one has the recipe of some goals and I'm hammering the "over" early before this line possibly jumps higher.

Burns' Prediction: 5-3 Blackhawks.

10-30-25 Islanders v. Hurricanes UNDER 6.5 2-6 Loss -110 8 h 23 m Show

(#9) New York Islanders @ (#10) Carolina Hurricanes | UNDER | .

There's no question that New York has been playing in some very high scoring games so far this season, and definitely as of late. I mean, the "over" happens to be 8-1 in the Islanders nine games so far this year and since last year, the "over" is 10-1 over their past 11 road games. That being said, I believe that there's opportunity for change here against one of the best defensive teams in the NHL over the past few years.

That team is Carolina. The Hurricanes are great defensively and protect their goalies extremely well. The Canes are fresh off a high scoring game themselves which makes me like this "under" even more. Both teams are looking to break the two-game losing streaks and therefore, I expect both to attempt to play sound defensively. Even with Rittich & Bussi in net (not the 1st stringers) I've got the "under" in Thursday's game.

Burns' Prediction: 3-1 Hurricanes.

10-18-25 Rangers v. Canadiens UNDER 6 4-3 Loss -115 14 h 44 m Show

(#45) New York Rangers @ (#46) Montreal Canadiens | UNDER | .

New York has been very disappointing over its last few games and a three game losing streak has occurred as a result. It's been shut out twice in those games and is coming off an OT loss against the Leafs on Thursday. I don't trust the Rangers lineup to score many on Saturday either having just a goal the past three.

Montreal has exploded with four consecutive wins. Don't get me wrong, the scoring is definitely there for the Canadiens at the moment, unlike New York. However, I believe that they'll have a bit of a harder time scoring here against a much tougher goaltender (Shesterkin) that they've faced on this run. Give me the "under."

Burns' Prediction: 3-1 Canadiens.

10-16-25 Penguins v. Kings OVER 5.5 Top 4-2 Win 100 30 h 30 m Show

(#21) Pittsburgh Penguins @ (#22) Los Angeles Kings | OVER | .

Both teams are hoping to break out of the mini slumps off consecutive victories. Having said that, there should be lots of intention in this game. The Penguins have not been good over these past two games on defense, allowing 10 goals over those games. That while alternating goalies too so both have been shaky. Pittsburgh can also score itself, putting up at least three goals in three of its first four games this year.

Taking a look at the Kings, I was expecting a much better start from them. Don't get me wrong, this is a very tough schedule to open up the season. However, the Kings are a playoff level team and this is a rough beginning. That being said, it's allowed 3+ goals in all four games (17 total which is more than four a game on average.) With the offensive talent for LAK, I do believe that it should win this game. But, don't be shocked to see more than three goals a piece en route to an easy "over."

Burns' Prediction: 5-3 Kings.

06-14-25 Panthers v. Oilers UNDER 6.5 Top 5-2 Loss -100 26 h 55 m Show

(#19) Florida Panthers @ (#20) Edmonton Oilers // UNDER //.

While I've taken it easy during the Stanley Cup Finals so far (2-0,) I believe that this is the perfect moment to jump on the "under." All four games so far have finished "over" the total with seven or more goals. That's something that's normally unheard of in the Stanley Cup Finals as goaltending and defense are normally emphasized. Having said that, I expect that to be focussed on much more in Game 5 as this series heads to essentially a best-of-three.

During the regular season, Florida was one of the best defensive teams in the NHL. As a matter of fact, Sergei Bobrovsky had the 5th best GAA in all of hockey. At times, he's looked shaky. However, he's actually been very strong in the playoffs and has got the Panthers in a spot where they should still be feeling confident. Bob has had some of his better starts on the road in these playoffs and is 9-3.

On the other hand, Edmonton seems to be turning back to Calvin Pickard who was undefeated for it during the playoffs before getting hurt. It's a funny situation having seen Skinner get benched twice in the same playoffs now. However, I do believe that Pickard has the high confidence levels right now. Pickard needs a good showing and I expect one from him after what happened in Game 4. Give me the "under" in Game 5 as my NHL PLAYOFF TOTAL OF THE YEAR.

Burns' Prediction: (3-2 OT) Florida.

05-24-25 Hurricanes v. Panthers UNDER 5.5 2-6 Loss -125 16 h 10 m Show

(#59) Carolina Hurricanes @ (#60) Florida Panthers // UNDER //.

While Game 1 went way "over," Game 2 managed to stay "under" with Carolina being shut out. No, I do not expect another shutout here this evening in Game 3. However, I do believe that the Carolina defense will be much strong in what should be treated essentially as a must win for the Canes. The Hurricanes have not opened up this series how they would like and playing defense is necessary here this evening.

On the other hand, Florida actually got shutout in its latest game played here in Florida. The Panthers have been playing more explosive hockey on the road and have slowed down a bit at home. I do believe that the Cats are favored and for good reason again in Game 3. But, I will be leaning towards another low scoring contest in Game 3 of the ECF.

Score Prediction: 2-1 Florida.

05-20-25 Panthers v. Hurricanes UNDER 5.5 5-2 Loss -123 16 h 22 m Show

(#53) Florida Panthers @ (#54) Carolina Hurricanes // UNDER //.

As Florida knocked off my prediction in the Leafs to win the Stanley Cup in the most recent series, I believe that the race to be the last team standing is still very much up in the air. Florida is an excellent defensive team that found its legs in the last series near the end. The defense looked phenomenal and I expect more of the same in this series with Carolina.

Talking about the Hurricanes, they are coming off a very low scoring series of their own against Washington. Carolina has excellent defending as well and the goaltending has been some of the best that I've seen in these playoffs. Expect a very low scoring series between these two teams in the Eastern Conference Finals.

Score Prediction: 2-1 Carolina.

05-14-25 Oilers v. Golden Knights UNDER 6.5 Top 1-0 Win 112 25 h 35 m Show

(#3) Edmonton Oilers @ (#4) Vegas Golden Knights // UNDER //.

While the Edmonton Oilers have had goaltending problems in the playoffs for the most part, they seem to finally be figuring things out. The Oilers were 6-0 with Calvin Pickard in the goal before he got hurt. Yes, Skinner came in and gave up four the next game to Vegas. But, he managed to respond big time with a shutout win in Game 4 making this series 3-1 in favor of Edmonton. I expect another solid performance from Skinner/Pickard, whoever gets the nod.

On the other hand, Vegas has really put itself behind the eight ball. I really liked the Golden Knights in this series before it commenced. Now, they've got a long way back. I could see them winning this series still but it starts with goaltending. Adin Hill has to be better. It's simply not been good enough. He knows it as well.

With this being the first elimination game of the series, I expect more nerves to be in the air. Vegas needs to be better defensively and the sift back to its home should help that cause very much. Getting this o/u at plus money is a gift. Give me the "under" in Game 5.

Score Prediction: 3-1 Vegas.

05-11-25 Maple Leafs v. Panthers UNDER 6.5 0-2 Win 100 16 h 8 m Show

(#73) Toronto Maple Leafs @ (#74) Florida Panthers // UNDER //.

I'm back with the "under" in this series on Sunday. Don't get me wrong, it hasn't been the most goaltender friendly series so far with tip in/own goals galore. Having said that, the number has gotten way too high for a game like this and I believe that we will finally see a game with the elite level goaltending that we should expect out of these guys.

Looking at Sergei Bobrovsky, he's coming off another great season. No, he didn't put up Vezina type numbers. However, he's done the job that was asked of him and he's still one of the best in the game. I believe that a strong performance out of him is due for today's game and I don't see him allowing too many in this one, even against the Leafs.

Toronto will go back to Joseph Woll. With a game and a half under his belt now, he should be more than comfortable back between the pipes. This is a crucial Game 4 for the Leafs as they can go ahead considerably with a win this evening. Woll was great for them all season long and why can't he be great this evening as well. Two capable goalies and a line that's gotten a whole goal higher than it was when this series started. Give me the "under."

Score Prediction: 2-1 Leafs.

05-09-25 Maple Leafs v. Panthers UNDER 6 4-5 Loss -113 23 h 26 m Show

(#63) Toronto Maple Leafs @ (#64) Florida Panthers // UNDER //.

While the first two games of this seven game series have finished with more than 5.5 goals, the o/u line has moved up to six for this Game 3 on Friday evening. Toronto was forced to replace starting goaltender Anthony Stolarz during Game 1 and he was still sidelined in Game 2. He's still not expected to be back so the Maple Leafs will rely on Joseph Woll who actually started more games than Stolarz this season. Woll has great stats too, he's just not as experienced. Don't expect a shaky performance from him here today.

On the other hand, the Panthers will keep relying on reliable Sergei Bobrovsky. The Russian net-minder hasn't been outstanding yet in the playoffs. But, he's more than capable of dominating. He's allowed only a single goal in consecutive starts against the Leafs when playing at home. I'll gladly take the "under" with the line already moving up. Expect the two goalies to be strong here in Game 3.

Score Prediction: 4-1 Florida.

05-06-25 Oilers v. Golden Knights UNDER 6.5 4-2 Win 104 9 h 43 m Show

(#55) Edmonton Oilers @ (#56) Vegas Golden Knights // UNDER //.

As much offense as Edmonton possesses, Vegas should do a much better job in this series limiting the goals of the superstars of the Oilers. One thing I think matters much more in the playoffs is physicality and strength. Not only is Vegas a lot bigger than LAK, but it plays so much bigger and will make this a very physical series if it has to. That's not what Edmonton likes as it relies mostly on the sheer skill of McDavid and Draisaitl.

Now, the question in this series for is is going to be if Stuart Skinner can show up. Despite winning the first round series in 6 games, Skinner was not very good. I believe that a bit of a break between games will have helped him at least for Game 1 here this evening. Not many games have finished
"under" in the playoffs so far. I believe that this will be one of them.

Score Prediction: 3-1 Vegas.

04-23-25 Oilers v. Kings UNDER 6 Top 2-6 Loss -118 32 h 59 m Show

(#57) Edmonton Oilers @ (#58) Los Angeles Kings // Under //.

What a Game 1 it was between these guys. LAK was up 4-0 and gave up three goals late which tied the game. Thankfully, the Kings scored with very little time remaining which was the game winner (I had the Kings.) Today, I'm coming back with the "under" in Game 2 as I believe that both teams will be eager to keep the puck out of the net today.

Edmonton is a team that's scary to play on an "under" with as it's got two of the best goal scoring creators in the game (McDavid/Draisaitl.) Having said that, I believe that this is going to be a tough game for those two to get going with how heartbreaking Game 1's loss would have been for the rest of the team. Like I mentioned in Game 1, the Oilers don't have the same depth that they had a year ago making it harder for the stars to shine. Don't forget that LAK goalie Darcy Kuemper had a 2.02 GAA this year.

Los Angeles will be extremely confident after putting six past Skinner on Monday. That being said, Skinner should be better than that today. He's had his share of rough outings in the postseason. But, he's looked very good at times too. This is a spot where he needs to be good. Expect both goalies to have big rebound games and this game to stay "under" in Game 2.

Score Prediction: 3-1 Kings

04-19-25 Avalanche v. Stars OVER 5.5 5-1 Win 100 17 h 30 m Show

(#23) Colorado Avalanche @ (#24) Dallas Stars // OVER //.

Colorado should have the edge in this game one against an unhealthy Stars team that really didn't look like the same team in the later stages of this season. Knowing that, I expect the Avalanche to take advantage in Game 1 and make the most of their scoring opportunities. The Avs are a deadly team offensively and should pose tons of threats this evening.

Like I mentioned, Dallas has some injuries. Still no Heiskanen and no Robertson for Game 1 at least. That's a killer. However, I do expect the Stars to look much better today than they did in the final two weeks of the season where they didn't win a single game since April 3rd. Either way, expect tons of goals in Game 1 in an extremely exciting first game.

Score Prediction: 5-3 Avalanche.

Line Parameter: play until 5.5, -130..

04-08-25 Golden Knights v. Avalanche OVER 5.5 2-3 Loss -125 9 h 41 m Show

(#19) Vegas Golden Knights @ (#20) Colorado Avalanche // Over //.

Coming off another low scoring contest, Vegas is the teams that's driving this o/u line lower than it should be. Even though the Golden Knights have stellar goaltending, I don't believe that it will be enough on Tuesday evening against one of the deadliest scoring offenses in all of hockey in Colorado.

Over the past two games, the Avalanche have scored 11 goals. That's while losing one of them. Vegas will need to have its offense ready to go for this matchup and I believe that it will. Expect goals to fly in this encounter, just like they did in the first matchup of the season.

Score Prediction: 4-3 Avalanche.

Line Parameter: play until 6.0, -115..

04-03-25 Predators v. Stars OVER 5.5 1-5 Win 100 16 h 13 m Show

(#9) Nashville Predators @ (#10) Dallas Stars // Over //.

I hate to admit it. But it must be done. This has been a really disappointing season for the Nashville Predators. So much hope, this organization had after the offseason moves of getting both Stamkos & Marchessault as well as other pieces was insane. The Predators have been quite horrible at defending this season as well, and their most recent game shows just that. An 8-4 loss to the Columbus Blue Jackets.

On the other hand, Dallas is scoring a bunch right now. Over their six game winning streak, the Stars have scored 23 goals which is nearly four a game. Dallas is in the midst of hunting down Winnipeg for the top overall seed in the Western Conference and a big time win here could do the Stars wonders. Either way, I expect goals galore in this Thursday encounter.

Score Prediction: 5-3 Stars.

Line Parameter: play until 6.0, -115..

03-22-25 Hurricanes v. Kings UNDER 5.5 2-7 Loss -125 14 h 56 m Show

Burns' Selection // Carolina Hurricanes @ Los Angeles Kings [Under] .

Although the Hurricanes don't play in as many "under's" as they have in the past this season, they are still a very good defensive team that loves to play in low scoring games. Having said that though, the Hurricanes are playing in low scoring games galore right now. Over their past eight games, the Canes have given up only 10 goals and won all eight games.

On the other hand, Los Angeles is one of the best teams in the league at home this year with a 23-3-4 record. The Kings love low scoring games as well, giving up only five goals in their last five games. I expect this one to be low scoring once again.

Score Prediction: 3-2 Hurricanes.

03-14-25 Avalanche v. Flames OVER 5.5 Top 4-2 Win 100 26 h 22 m Show

Burns' Selection: // Colorado Avalanche @ Calgary Flames [Over] .

Even though Colorado has seen consecutive games end well below the total, the Avalanche are always a threat to score goals, and a lot of them. Nathan MacKinnon leads the offense with boat loads of excellent players in behind him. I believe that the Avalanche will get back to their scoring ways here this evening against a Flames team that's lost five of their past seven games.

Looking at Calgary, it's coming off of a 4-3 overtime defeat against Vancouver on Wednesday. Now, even though Calgary doesn't have a lot of top scoring options like many teams, Huberdeau & Kadri are definitely still excellent players. I believe that Calgary will be able to put up at least a couple of goals here this evening, like it has in three straight games vs. Colorado (incl. once this season already.) In the end, expect the Avs to score a lot, leading this one to go way "over."

Score Prediction: 6-3 Avs.

03-13-25 Panthers v. Maple Leafs OVER 5.5 Top 3-2 Loss -125 9 h 56 m Show

Florida Panthers @ Toronto Maple Leafs (Over) ..

Yes, I know that the Panthers have been playing in quite low scoring games recently. However, I believe that the time is come for another thrilling matchup against the Leafs. All three times that Florida played against Toronto in 2024 (once this season,) the two sides combined for 6+ goals and went "over" in all of those games. Florida is very good at scoring goals and that should be something that it thrives at again today.

Toronto, on the other hand, is coming off a much needed win against Utah in OT on Tuesday. The Leafs are back to their winning ways and that's always a good thing when you look at teams that are confident in the attacking third. Like the Panthers, the Leafs are a top-10 scoring team in the league, going by Goals Per Game (GPG.)

These teams don't necessarily like each other as they both currently stand at the top of the Atlantic Division. I expect a hard fought game with plenty of goals and this game to go "over" the number here this evening.

Score Prediction: 5-3 Leafs.

03-05-25 Maple Leafs v. Golden Knights UNDER 6.5 Top 2-5 Loss -125 27 h 30 m Show

Toronto Maple Leafs @ Vegas Golden Knights (Under) ..

When these two sides matched up back in November, I attended the game. It was a 3-0 win for the Leafs and a very defensive minded game. Looking Toronto right now, its goaltending has been phenomenal. Joseph Woll, who's expected to be in net this evening, owns a 21-11-0 record with a GAA. of 2.70. Stolarz has been ever better than Woll in some categories including GAA - 2.20. Whoever's in net, Toronto should be ecstatic with its net-minding.

Vegas is coming off a great goalie performance of its own with Adin Hill having just shut out the Devils. Hill's 2.52 GAA is excellent as well. That number improves to 2.21 at home. Just like Hill, the rest of the Golden Knights step up their games at home too. Vegas is one of the best home teams in the NHL and that should give them a boost here after being shut out last time.

No matter who wins this game, I'm expecting another low scoring contest. Both teams are at the top of their conferences and are excellent defending groups. I expect another "under" and I'm making this one my NHL TOTAL OF THE YEAR.

Score Prediction: 3-2 Vegas.

02-25-25 Blackhawks v. Utah Hockey Club UNDER 6.5 Top 1-2 Win 100 27 h 48 m Show

Chicago Blackhawks @ Utah Hockey Club (Under) ..

Last season, Chicago was the story of NHL totals, keeping games very low scoring with their lack of scoring abilities. Having said that, I believe that the Blackhawks will start struggling even more than they already have been this season with that same category, just like last year. Chicago only averages 2.65 GPG at the moment which is near the bottom. Although Bedard is playing great hockey once again, Chicago is still a few seasons away from getting back to competitive again (unless it makes some big moves this offseason.)

On the other hand, Utah has been quietly a very solid team this year. Yes, there is the occasional game that gets out of hand with a bunch of scoring from the Hockey Club and the team that they are playing. However, they have been playing in a lot of low scoring games as well as they've won 25 games while scoring 2.79 GPG on the season.

Now, even though I see Utah winning this game pretty comfortably, I don't think that Chicago will score enough this evening to go "over" this total. Get 6.5 if possible, but even 6.0 should be good! This is my Central Div. Total Of The Year.

Score Prediction: 4-1 Blackhawks.

02-22-25 Rangers v. Sabres OVER 6.5 Top 2-8 Win 102 6 h 18 m Show

New York Rangers @ Buffalo Sabres (Over) ..

Coming off of their 'All Star Break' (4 Nations Face-Off,) guys like JT Miller & Vincent Trochek are going to want to light the lamp quite a bit this evening having come up short for team USA. The Rangers have been goal scoring machines over the years and they need to start winning some more games. This team should be able to put up a bunch of goals today against the Sabres who are at the bottom of their division.

Looking at Buffalo a bit more, it's been struggling all season long. I believe that the Sabres are one of the most streaky teams in hockey. When it gets bad, it goes south in a hurry. However, the break should have given them a reset and I'm expecting them to be ready for this battle against the Rangers.

Expect this game to be fast paced and lots of goals to find the back of the net. Prior to the break, Buffalo was scoring quite a bit. Expect a high scoring game this afternoon.

Score Prediction: 6-4 Rangers.

02-02-25 Blue Jackets v. Stars OVER 5.5 3-5 Win 100 6 h 56 m Show

Columbus Blue Jackets @ Dallas Stars (Over) ..

Columbus is coming off three consecutive wins which should cause some type of concern to this Stars team. The Blue Jackets, who are currently back in a WildCard spot right now, have been playing some unexpected great hockey this season. Yes, these three games that they've just won have all been lower scoring. However, the Blue Jackets are still allowing 3.27 GPG which is among the worst in the entire league. Luckily they score a lot as well.

Looking at the Stars a bit more, Dallas has won four straight games. The Stars have reached 4+ goals in three of those games and have been really turning it up. Now, with the addition of Mikael Granlund, the Stars are even more lethal at scoring goals. This is a team that could go "over" the total by themselves. Expect a high scoring game today.

Score Prediction: 5-3 Stars.

01-24-25 Golden Knights v. Stars UNDER 6 Top 3-4 Loss -115 25 h 24 m Show

Vegas Golden Knights @ Dallas Stars (Under) ..

With these two teams being some of the best in the West for a few seasons in a row now, we've been able to watch them play against each other many times in both the regular season as well as playoffs. Vegas has been one of the best defensive teams again this season. It helps that the Golden Knights lead the entire NHL with the least amount of penalty minutes per game (avg of 5.5.)

On the other hand, Dallas is also a very strong defensive team. Allowing 2.49 gpg, the Stars not only have great skaters, but they've also got a brick wall in Jake Oettinger between the pipes. They've also got the best penalty kill in hockey with a 85.8% percentage. Even though they lost on Tuesday, the Stars allowed only two goals against Carolina and have allowed an average of 2.00 gpg their past six games on home ice.

When these two have met, "under" has been the common theme. As a matter of fact, four straight games have gone "under' the total when these two sides have met up with another. Dating back even further, 14 of the past 20 games have ended "under" in this matchup. Give me the "under" again this evening.

Score Prediction: 3-1 Stars

01-18-25 Penguins v. Capitals UNDER 6.5 Top 1-4 Win 100 15 h 6 m Show

Pittsburgh Penguins @ Washington Capitals (Under) ..

While the Penguins have once again disappointed this season, they still have the opportunity to come back and fight for a playoff spot. That being said, Pittsburgh is going to need to string together some wins in order to do so. Now, after releasing goaltender Tristan Jarry, this team will be looking to lock in defensively as a starting point. The Pens will be looking to shut down Alex Ovechkin tonight, a familiar foe.

Talking about Ovi and the Capitals, they are playing excellent hockey this season. This is surprising to many people considering how old Ovechkin is getting and how the rest of the team is. Having said that, they are one of the best defensive teams in hockey allowing less than two and a half gpg on the season.

I expect this one to be highly competitive despite Washington being the heavy favorites. In another showdown between Crosby/Ovechkin, look for a low scoring contest to be won in the later stages on the hockey match.

Score Prediction: 3-1 Capitals

01-14-25 Rangers v. Avalanche OVER 6 2-3 Loss -118 17 h 19 m Show

New York Rangers @ Colorado Avalanche (Over) ..

Despite both teams having trouble finding the back of the net at the moment, this could be the game that both end that slump. New York has been a real disappointment all season long. With how close the East is though, it's most definitely not too late to start finding its legs. The Rangers have deadly forwards that we've been used to seeing strike at any time and distance in the past. Expect them to start scoring a bit here against an Avs team that allows 3.11 gpg. Talking about Colorado, it's got some firepower of its own. Led by Nate Mac, this is a team that is averaging 3.32 gpg this season. Colorado is also much better than its playing so far this season and a big performance today could spark a winning streak. This line should be at 6.5 and I'll gladly take it at 6.0. Expect an "over" this evening.

Score Prediction: 5-3 Avs.

01-07-25 Flames v. Ducks UNDER 6 Top 3-2 Win 100 18 h 47 m Show

Calgary Flames @ Anaheim Ducks (Under) ..

Even though Calgary is within striking distance of a playoff spot at the moment, scoring hasn't come necessarily easily to them. As a matter of fact, the Flames are only averaging 2.62 gpg this season which is one of the lowest in the entire league. The Flames have only scored 10 goals over their past five games as well coming into today's game.

Should I mention that Anaheim scores less goals per game than Calgary does? On the year, the Ducks are averaging the least amount of goals by any team in the NHL (2.54 gpg.) The Ducks are off a 4-1 win, but rarely score more than three goals in games. Even though this might be a game that they could steal another win, I don't see them scoring more than three.

These two teams aren't even that bad defensively/goaltending wise either. I expect a lower scoring game in this matchup between two divisional teams on Tuesday evening. Getting the 6.5 is great, but 6.0 is a really strong play as well. Hammer the "under."

Score Prediction: 3-1 Ducks.

12-31-24 Hurricanes v. Blue Jackets UNDER 6.5 3-4 Loss -112 23 h 28 m Show

Carolina Hurricanes @ Columbus Blue Jackets (Under) ..

Over the years now, Carolina has been known more for their defense. Although it hasn't been quite the same this season with injuries at the goaltending positioning as well as other differences, the Canes are still a threat to dominate defensively. Up against a weaker team today in Columbus, I'm expecting them to do just that.

Talking about the Blue Jackets, they are 15-16-6. Don't get me wrong, this is a much improved team from recent campaigns. However, Columbus is still in its "rebuilding stage" and shouldn't be threats to most teams. The Jackets got shut out in their latest game against Boston. Carolina should win this one, but it won't score too much either. Hammer the "under."

Score Prediction: 3-1 Hurricanes.

12-17-24 Blue Jackets v. Lightning OVER 6 Top 3-5 Win 100 15 h 2 m Show

Columbus Blue Jackets @ Tampa Bay Lightning (Over) ..

Columbus has lost its last four games. They need to be fired up for today's game against a Lightning team that can score at a very high rate. Looking at the Blue Jackets, they are actually doing a much better job than last season. Yes, they are still in last in the Metro Division at the moment. However, they've been playing well enough that they are in striking distance. A big performance today would go a long way.

For the Lightning, they are averaging four goals a game this year which ranks them atop the entire NHL right now. They've been lighting up the scoreboard and should do just that again today against a CBJ team that has been allowing goals at a high rate this season too. The Lightning have now scored 13 goals over their past two games (6.5 a game.) That would be enough for this total on their own.

All in all, this is a game that should be featuring at least six goals. I'll gladly take the 6.0 and expect a win here on Tuesday evening. I'm playing on the "over" in today's CBJ/TB matchup.

Score Prediction: 5-3 Lightning.

12-07-24 Jets v. Blackhawks UNDER 6 4-2 Push 0 4 h 15 m Show

Winnipeg Jets @ Chicago Blackhawks (Under) ...

Winnipeg needs to win this game. They've falled off the map completely after beginning the year with one of the most impressive records that you'll ever see. Good thing for them, they are coming off a win which should help them get going in the right direction. The Jets will also have Connor Hellebuyck in net in today's game which should also be a huge help. He owns a ridiculous 2.14 GAA this season in 21 games.

Looking at the Blackhawks they don't score. Averaging the second least amount of GPG this season with 2.42, I don't see them scoring much in this one, even at home. Chicago have sort of fallen into what they were last season again and that could lead to a lot more lower scoring affairs again. I believe that six is too high for this total and it should be in the 5.5/5.0 range. I'll gladly take this 'under.'

Score Prediction: 3-1 Jets.

12-05-24 Blue Jackets v. Oilers OVER 6.5 3-6 Win 100 17 h 17 m Show

Columbus Blue Jackets @ Edmonton Oilers (Over) ..

The Blue Jackets have actually played a lot better this season so far than I thought they would. Don't get me wrong, it's still not good. But, it's a big improvement from a horrendous campaign last year. They actually have a 0 point differential which puts them middle of the Metro Division in that category. Looking at recent games, the Jackets have seen more than six goals in their games in five of their past six games. They've also allowed 22 goals over that six game span (3.66 a game) while winning four of them. That means that they are averaging 4.16 themselves over those games. As we take a look at the Oilers, they should be excited for this matchup at home. Edmonton just got shut out. But, they are ready to break out and go on another win streak. Edmonton has scored nine goals over their last two games played at home and have given up seven over those games. In the first game these teams played vs. each other earlier this season, they combined for seven total goals. I expect more than seven goals in today's game.

Score Prediction: 5-3 Oilers.

11-18-24 Ducks v. Stars UNDER 6.5 4-2 Win 100 9 h 50 m Show

Anaheim Ducks @ Dallas Stars (o/u UNDER) ...

Having won three games straight, the Stars should be expected to keep their winning streak going today. They haven't been perfect so far this year, but Dallas have been great defensively over their past five games. As a matter of fact, the Stars have only given up nine goals over those games which is less than two a game. I believe that they will be strong again in that department here today as massive home favorites.

Looking at the Ducks, they are more of an all over the place type of team. Don't get me wrong, it's difficult to take the 'under' with these teams. However, Anaheim could very well get shut down completely in today's game. Anaheim should be strong enough between the pipes though to keep this game 'under' the total. Try and get 6.5 if possible.

Score Prediction: 4-1 Stars.

11-12-24 Senators v. Maple Leafs OVER 6 Top 3-0 Loss -100 5 h 36 m Show

Ottawa Senators @ Toronto Maple Leafs (o/u OVER) ...

After winning with the Leafs 'under' just a few days ago against the Canadiens, I'm playing on their 'over' in today's game. Ottawa brings in a much different style of play as Montreal does and that style of play tends to lead to higher scoring games when these teams meet. Looking further into that, five of the past seven matchups between the two sides have went 'over' the o/u line.

Ottawa have been scoring quite a few goals so far this season. They are averaging tons of shots on goal per game and have been very effective on the Power Play. Toronto has turned up the scoring in recent games scoring 11 over their past three games. This is a matchup that could feature a lot of goals and I'm all for it. I've got the 'over.'

Score Prediction: 5-3 Leafs.

11-11-24 Kings v. Flames UNDER 6 Top 1-3 Win 100 19 h 12 m Show

Los Angeles Kings @ Calgary Flames (o/u UNDER) ...

Quietly but surely playing well, the Kings are actually atop the Pacific Division right now over teams like Vegas, Vancouver & Edmonton. Their goaltending has been great for the most part and they've played some very good defense without their defensive captain in Drew Doughty. Having said that, I believe that this game has the makings of a lower scoring affair.

Over the past three times that these two squads have met, we've seen six goals or less. Calgary are averaging less than three goals a game right now despite their solid 7-5-3 record. LAK only allow 3.00. With Calgary at home in this one, they should be lock down defensively as well. Calgary have been seeing a lot more 'under's' recently and it stays that way tonight. I'm playing on the 'under' in the Kings/Flames matchup on Monday evening.

Score Prediction: 3-1 Kings

11-09-24 Canadiens v. Maple Leafs UNDER 6.5 1-4 Win 100 16 h 59 m Show

Montreal Canadiens @ Toronto Maple Leafs (o/u UNDER) ..

Montreal vs. Toronto. Yes, the Leafs have won five consecutive meetings at home between the two. But, this is the best hockey rivalry in the country of Canada and it should be yet another fun watch. These teams met back on October 9th to begin the season. The final score was 1-0 Montreal. This time around, I'm expecting another low scoring game. Here's why.

Montreal haven't been scoring much this season. As a matter of fact, neither has the Leafs. Both teams rank in the bottom half of the league in goals scored per game. That being said, the goalies should be confident heading into this one. The past three meetings between these foes have stayed 'under' the line. In today's game, we can get a 6.5 line and I'm jumping all over it. This game will not see that many goals once again and the 'under' is the play.

Score Prediction: 3-1 Leafs.

10-29-24 Wild v. Penguins OVER 6 Top 5-3 Win 100 16 h 34 m Show

Minnesota Wild @ Pittsburgh Penguins (Over) ..

Both these two teams have had some rest to prepare for this game on Tuesday. They each played on Saturday and saw 7+ goals combined with their opponents find the back of the net. The Wild lost an absolute war against Philadelphia 7-5 while the Pens lost their fifth consecutive game 4-3. Pittsburgh is allowing 4.2 goals per game so far this year and it's not looking like they're going to improve anytime soon with the goaltending problems.

Yes, Minnesota have played in some low scoring games this season. But, they showed last game that they aren't just that. Minnesota has the talent to make things happen and score a bunch themselves. They've score 4+ goals in four of their last five games averaging 4.2 over that span. Don't get me wrong, their defensive work has been solid this year. However, the Penguins will be hungry for a win after they saw what Philly did to them on Saturday. I've got the OVER as my NHL TOTAL OF THE MONTH.

Score Prediction: 5-3 Penguins.

10-18-24 Ducks v. Avalanche OVER 6.5 3-4 Win 100 18 h 46 m Show

Anaheim Ducks @ Colorado Avalanche (Over) ..

Despite their 0-4 record, the Avalanche have still been scoring a decent amount of goals. As a matter of fact, they've score 13 goals in those four games which comes out an average of more than three a game. They've allowed 25 in those four games as well which is a bit absurd. Today, I expect them to keep scoring against a Ducks team that's also had troubles keeping the puck out of their net in the early stages of the season. Anaheim have given up seven goals over their last two games now. As long as the Avalanche are playing, the "over" is the play right now. Colorado won't be nice if they are winning in this game either. They will keep their foot on the gas all game long as they'd love to get their goal difference back to normality. Give me the "over" on Friday evening between two teams that are off very high scoring games.

Score Prediction: 6-2 Avs.
