| 06-02-26 | Mirra Andreeva v. Sorana Cirstea OVER 21.5 | Top | 2-0 | Loss | -120 | 10 h 52 m | Show |
(#8747) Mirra Andreeva vs. (#8748) Sorana Cirstea | OVER GAMES | . Despite Andreeva being a quite heavy favorite, it's very difficult to see her winning this matchup as easily as she's won her opening four matches. I mean, the Russian was tested in round two having to come from a set down. But, she's never really been tested or been to any tiebreaks yet. That's likely to change today. Sorana Cirstea is in the midst of her "final season" on tour and with her current level of play, that might change in the near future. She's playing phenomenal tennis and is beating opponents that you'd normally not expect. While Cirstea hasn't really been tested either, this gives both players a fantastic challenge to reach the Semi's of the French Open. These players have matched up once before & it was an absolute war with Andreeva winning 7-6, 4-6, 6-2. Give me the "over" games here in this one. Burns' Prediction: 3-6, 7-5, 7-6 Andreeva. |

| 06-01-26 | Frances Tiafoe v. Matteo Arnaldi +110 | Top | 2-3 | Win | 110 | 24 h 49 m | Show |
(#8228) Matteo Arnaldi | ML | . When a grand slam gets into the second week, rankings don't seem to matter quite as much. I mean, this is the first tournament in the Open Era that there's been no former Grand Slam Champion into the 4th round of a Major. I think that this is amazing for the sport of tennis and we're about to see a new champ crowned at the end of it. While Arnaldi might not be high in the rankings, he's absolutely dialled in at the moment. He's knocked off quality player after quality player throughout this tournament and has definitely battled through adversity. Now, the same could be said about Tiafoe, who came back from down 2-0 in the last match against Faria. But, Tiafoe's now played in consecutive 5-setters and these start taking a tole on players the longer that they go. I do think that both of these players are more than capable of beating anyone on their day on clay. But, given the latest matchup between these two last year in the ATP Madrid 1000 event, I believe that Arnaldi's going to go into this one with all of the confidence in the world. Give me the Italian on Monday in the Round Of 16. Burns' Prediction: 6-3, 4-6, 7-6, 7-5 Arnaldi. |
| 05-30-26 | Felix Auger-Aliassime v. Brandon Nakashima OVER 38.5 | Top | 3-1 | Win | 100 | 22 h 54 m | Show |
(#8201) Felix Auger Aliassime vs. (#8202) Brandon Nakashima | OVER GAMES | . The opening round of this French Open was a bit of a struggle for the Canadian. He managed to pull through in an epic 5-setter vs. Daniel Atlmaier that went the distance. He also dropped the opening set against Roman Andres Burruchaga in his second round matchup. Now, he's going up against an opponent that on paper is much more difficult in Brandon Nakashima. These players did play once before back in Florence in 2022 on the hard courts. FAA won that match fairly easily. Since then, Nakashima has climbed up the rankings and has become a very consistent tennis player in his own right. Nakashima cruised through his opening round matchup vs. Bautista Agut. But, he also ran into some trouble, winning his latest match against Van Assche in a 5th & deciding set after being down 1-2. When these two clash in the "night session" this evening in Paris, I'm expecting an all-out war. Neither of these players prefer the clay over the hard courts, but both are more than capable of making a deep run considering the remaining draw in this tournament. I like this match to go "over" the number of games on Saturday. If the "over" sets is also available for you at 3.5, I'd like that a lot as well. Burns' Prediction: 6-7, 6-3, 6-4, 3-6, 7-6 Auge Aliassime. |
| 05-29-26 | Thiago Agustin Tirante v. Pablo Carreno-Busta +4.5 | 1-3 | Win | 100 | 14 h 21 m | Show | |
(#8220) Pablo Carreno Busta - Games | ATS | . While the oddsmakers have the Argentinian as the significant favorite in this match, I believe that it's a mistake. Thiago Agustin Tirante does have the ability to beat solid players on tour. But, he's coming off a big upset of his own right, beating the #21 ranked Davidovich Fokina in the previous round. Knocking off consecutive Spaniards on clay is difficult. Beating a third straight in as many games is extremely difficult. Looking at Carreno Busta, he might not be ranked as high in the ATP standings. But, he's a clay specialist (like most Spaniards) & thrives in tricky matchups like this. Carreno Busta is well rested having played just two sets and a game in his last match before Kokkinakis retired the match. Let's also not forget that he knocked off 12th ranked Lehecka in the opening round in straight sets. Give me the Spanish man in this one. Burns' Prediction: 6-4, 4-6, 7-6, 6-3 Carreno Busta. |
| 05-25-26 | Hugo Gaston v. Gael Monfils -105 | 3-2 | Loss | -105 | 23 h 50 m | Show | |
(#8060) Gael Monfils | ML | . In my article prior to the tournament, I acknowledged this game as one of the "3 Opening Round Matchups To Watch." Therefore, I'm expecting fireworks. Gael Monfils has always been fantastic on clay and has made the Semi Final here at Roland Garros back in 2008. I know that 2008 is almost 20 years ago now. But, Monfils is going to want to end with a bang and this is his last French Open of his career. Nothing about Hugo Gaston impresses me all that much. He's been in/out of the main tour, playing in a lot of Challenger Tour events as well. Getting a chance to play here in his home country is of course very opportunistic. But, he's been losing a lot of those Challenger events in the early rounds too. No, he hasn't been great either recently. But, Monfils has the edge in experience and overall play. These odds are too good to pass up. Burns' Prediction: 6-3, 5-7, 7-6, 6-4 Monfils. |
| 05-02-26 | Mirra Andreeva v. M Kostyuk +120 | 0-2 | Win | 120 | 24 h 12 m | Show | |
(#8954) Marta Kostyuk | ML | . These two players met up earlier this season for the first time in their careers. Kostyuk won that match 7-6, 6-3 on the hard courts of Brisbane. I know that this will be a clay matchup now & that Mirra Andreeva definitely has the stronger record on clay in their careers. But, the way Kostyuk is striking the ball at the moment has been phenomenal & I would not be shocked to see her have very similar success against the 19 year old. Marta Kostyuk kind of flies under the radar with the great success of fellow Ukrainian Elina Svitolina over the past couple of seasons. However, the 23yr old has also done a really good job at playing her own game/style of tennis and I think that it's help her have an incredible start to this clay season. She's won 56.1% of her Return Games on clay so far in 2026. That's insane! Give me the Ukranian. Burns' Prediction: 7-6, 6-3 Kostyuk. |
| 04-23-26 | Vilius Gaubas v. Sebastian Baez -3.5 | 2-0 | Loss | -110 | 6 h 9 m | Show | |
(#8294) Sebastian Baez | GAME SPREAD | . These two guys have already met up less than a month ago in Bucharest & Baez pretty much controlled the whole match, winning 6-3, 6-1. He dominated the longer points and should be able to keep rolling through this match as the much higher level player. Vilius Gaubas, the Lithuanian, ranks 124 in the ATP standings, while the Argentinian ranks in the top 70. Considering the clay success of Sebastian Baez in the past and the opportunities to play top level opponents lately, I think that he'll be able to really cherish this easier opponent. Give me Baez on the Game Spread... get the best line you can. (good at -2.5 and -3.5.) Burns' Prediction: 6-3, 6-4 Baez. |
| 04-19-26 | E Rybakina v. Karolina Muchova +1.5 | 2-0 | Loss | -130 | 3 h 13 m | Show | |
(#8562) Karolina Muchova | SET SPREAD | . Even though I absolutely love Elena Rybakina's game and how she's been able to make everything start clicking here over the past six months, I also believe that Karolina Muchova's playing some of the best tennis of her career right now. She's already gotten a win here on tour in Qatar and now has gotten revenge on Coco Gauff as well as knocked off Elina Svitolina in the Semis of this tournament. Muchova is also fantastic on clay and I'd still consider this surface to be the weakest of the three main one's for Rybakina given her power and placement. That being said, I'm going to take the 'dog to keep this one close and perhaps even pull off the upset on Sunday. Burns' Prediction: 6-4, 2-6, 7-5 Muchova. |
| 04-15-26 | M Kostyuk -1.5 v. Catherine Mcnally | 2-1 | Win | 100 | 13 h 52 m | Show | |
(#8633) Marta Kostyuk | SET SPREAD | . Coming off a dismantling off Diane Perry in the opening round of Rouen, Marta Kostyuk comes into this Rof16 encounter ready to do more damage. Since the Australian Open, her only two losses were against the Aussie Open Champ, Elena Rybakina. She's more than capable of competing with the best and she does great work on clay as well. On the other hand, even though Caty McNally boasts a solid clay record as well, she's built her record up in these smaller tournaments against some of the lesser players on the tour. In meetings with the best of the best, she hasn't done too well. Having to come from behind in the opening match and not looking all that strong vs. Katie Volynets, I believe that she's going to have some trouble here today. Take the set spread on the #28 ranked women's player at the moment. Burns' Prediction: 6-4, 6-4 Kostyuk. |
| 04-14-26 | Martin Landaluce v. Lorenzo Musetti -4.5 | 0-2 | Win | 106 | 2 h 41 m | Show | |
(#8032) Lorenzo Musetti | GAME SPREAD | . Lorenzo Musetti is one of the best players in the world and although he lost in the opening round of Monte Carlo, he's a fantastic player on the clay surface and this should be an opponent that helps him get going again this year. Musetti ran into a scorching hot Vacherot in the last tournament, who made it to the quarterfinals. He's going to be just fine for this one against a wildcard player. Looking at the other side of things, Martin Landaluce has been back and forth between the Challenger Tour and the Main Tour this season, most recently playing at the slightly lower level. He's got some good stuff at times, but just lost 6-1, 6-4 against Collignon in the semis. Musetti is a much stronger foe than Collignon. Give me the Italian. Burns' Prediction: 6-3, 6-2 Musetti. |
| 03-31-26 | Darja Semenistaja +110 v. Ella Seidel | Top | 2-0 | Win | 110 | 14 h 28 m | Show |
(#8807) Darja Semenistaja | ML | . On paper, this is a great matchup between two players on the come up in the Women's game of tennis. Ella Seidel might have the more recognizable name. But, I believe that she's going to have a bit of trouble against a player that's much more well suited for clay court matchups. I'm not saying that Seidel can't win on clay. But, she's in poor form at the moment and she's going up against Darja Semenistaja. If you haven't heard of her, she's won multiple titles on clay before and owns an extremely strong win rate on clay in the lower levels of Tennis. I believe that the Latvian is going to be able to dictate points and win this match on Tuesday rather comfortably, even as a slight dog. Burns' Prediction: 6-3, 7-6 Semenistaja. |
| 03-30-26 | V Tomova -140 v. Jennifer Brady | 2-0 | Win | 100 | 13 h 48 m | Show | |
(#8529) Viktoriya Tomova | ML | . Even though this is an early stage matchup in this WTA 500 event in Charleston, I still think that this matchup is definitely one to take advantage of. Jennifer Brady has not impressed me whatsoever in either Indian Wells or Miami this month so far. I know that she was able to win a set against Ruzic at Indian Wells. But, losing both of her first matches does not have me feeling good about her chances here in Charleston. Looking at Viktoriya Tomova, although she struggled in those events too, her being able to go through qualifiers here at Charleston already should give her a massive boost of both confidence and momentum heading into this contest. Tomova has already beaten Brady in the only meeting between these players back in 2019. I'll go with the Bulgarian who has looked much sharper over the past couple of days and has impressed me. Burns' Prediction: 6-3, 6-4 Tomova. |
| 03-09-26 | Alexander Bublik -1.5 v. R Hijikata | 1-2 | Loss | -140 | 13 h 49 m | Show | |
(#6497) Alexander Bublik | SET SPREAD | . Rinky Hijikata went through qualifiers here at BNP Paribas - Indian Wells and has been able to continue to push to move on in this tournament. However, neither of his opponents in the main draw have been top 10 opponents like he's about to face today. Hijikata is a tricky player to play against on his day. But, I just don't believe that he has it in him to pull off this upset. On the other hand, Alexander Bublik wasn't happy with his first round result, winning in a deciding set. The Kazakh player hasn't been at his best yet this season. But, I believe that he finally was starting to feel himself at the end of the match against Kopriva in the opening round and I expect him to cruise to a big time straight sets win on Monday. Burns' Prediction: 6-3, 6-2 Bublik. |
| 03-06-26 | Brandon Nakashima -1.5 v. Camilo Ugo Carabelli | 2-0 | Win | 100 | 14 h 17 m | Show | |
(#6473) Brandon Nakashima | Set Spread | . Probably not known as much as some of the other American players. But, Brandon Nakashima is one of the most consistent men's players on tour and I believe that he's going to continue to grow as a player over the next few years. He's more than capable of competing with some of the best in the game. Camilo Ugo Carabelli, today's opponent, doesn't really have what it takes quite yet to play with some of these bigger names. He's in and out of the ATP & Challenger competitions going back and forth. I know that he was able to win his first round matchup in straight sets. But, this is a significant step up in quality. Nakashima should be able to win this one in straight sets himself and move on. Burns' Prediction: 6-3, 6-2 Nakashima. |
| 03-04-26 | Zeynep Sonmez +116 v. Mccartney Kessler | 2-0 | Win | 116 | 13 h 38 m | Show | |
(#8521) Zeynep Sonmez | ML | . I believe that a mini upset could be on the cards on Wednesday. McCartney Kessler is the much higher ranked opponent and is probably the favorite because of that. However, the American hasn't played in over a month since pulling out of the Qatar Open with a back injury. Because it's been so long, I don't believe that Kessler's going to be on her A-game. The rising sensation of Zeynep Sonmez is ready to show the world how good she is. 23 years of age, from Turkey, Sonmez is playing the best tennis of her career right now, making the third round of the Australian Open & reaching the QF's of the Mérida Open Akron last week. Although she does have much less experience, her sharpness could be the difference in this one. It could definitely take three sets, but I've got the rising talent out of Turkey. Burns' Prediction: 6-3, 3-6, 7-5 Sonmez. |
| 01-29-26 | Carlos Alcaraz v. Alexander Zverev OVER 36.5 | Top | 3-2 | Win | 100 | 21 h 59 m | Show |
(#8249) Carlos Alcaraz @ (#8250) Alexander Zverev | OVER | . I'm expecting Carlos Alcaraz to win this match. But, I'm also expecting the Spaniard to have a much more difficult time than the oddsmakers are expecting on Thursday night (Friday in Australia.) Even though he's yet to drop a set in the tournament, Alcaraz has been tested, going to three tie breakers, twice against unseeded opponents. Not only does Zverev have six career wins against Alcaraz. But, he's also beaten him the last time they met here in Australia back in 2024. Now, Carlos definitely has the edge in terms of almost everything. But, we can't forget how strong Sacha Zverev is of a player when his serve is at its best. The German is also one of the best returners in the game. His accuracy and ability to match Carlos' with the ground strokes is going to make the Spaniard earn this win. Like I said at the start, I don't believe that Carlos should be too worried about this one considering he's won all 15 sets so far. But, this is a much more difficult matchup for the #1 seed than any so far in the Australian Open. Three of the four meetings in Grand Slam's between these men (2-2) have gone to four or more sets. If it reaches a fourth in this one, the "over" should hit without much trouble. Burns' Prediction: 6-4, 6-7, 6-3, 7-6 Alcaraz. |
| 01-27-26 | Jessica Pegula v. Amanda Anisimova -115 | Top | 2-0 | Loss | -115 | 23 h 26 m | Show |
(#8746) Amanda Anisimova | ML | . Coming into this Quarterfinal matchup, Jessica Pegula owns a 3-0 H2H record against Amanda Anisimova. Yes, that statistic might be some cause for concern. But, I don;t think so on Tuesday evening (Wednesday in Australia.) While Jess Pegula is in dominant form at the moment, she's not the hardest server out there and I believe that her fellow American will be able to use her strength to her advantage in this one. Pegula played in Brisbane prior to this tournament and lost quite a few sets. For Amanda, she's yet to drop a set as well in this tournament. She's coming off a breakout season last year and made two slam finals. If you read my article prior to this tournament, I had Anisimova reaching the semis as one of my best bets. She's powerful like Sabalenka and definitely has the intangibles to beat anyone in the world when on her game. I believe that she's going to be able to dictate the majority of the points and win her first against Pegula in the Aussie Open QF's. Burns' Prediction: 7-6, 7-5 Anisimova. |
| 01-23-26 | Elina Svitolina -180 v. Diana Shnaider | 2-0 | Win | 100 | 11 h 59 m | Show | |
(#8705) Elina Svitolina | ML | . While it was an early challenge in the first set against Klimovicova for Svitolina, the Ukrainian was able to pull through in straight sets using her massive power ground strokes to her advantage. She's now on a seven match win streak after winning Aukland to begin the year of 2026. I know that Diana Shnaider is a top player in the women's game. But, she's not making it easy for herself, winning both matches in the Aussie Open in a deciding third set through two rounds. She's also lost the opening set in each match and if she does so here again, don't expect her to be able to overcome that obstacle. Svitolina is in the much better form. I'll lay the juice. Burns' Prediction: 6-4, 6-3 Svitolina. |
| 01-22-26 | Karolina Muchova -1.5 v. Magda Linette | 2-0 | Win | 100 | 19 h 40 m | Show | |
(#8703) Karolina Muchova | SET SPREAD | . As the tournament goes on, the more high level the competition should be. I mean, that's the case for the most part. That being said, we're still in the somewhat earlier stages of this grand slam and I believe that it's the perfect time to unleashing top selection on Muchova. She just survived a thriller against Parks by coming back from a set down to win 4-6, 6-4, 6-4. Now, the Czechia player will face Magda Linette, who's already caused an upset in this tournament. I have the upmost respect for Linette. But, I don't think that she'll be able to pull off another upset. Muchova is a complete player that's got a fantastic defensive work and footwork. Expect a straight set victory in this one. Burns' Prediction: 6-2, 6-3 Muchova. |
| 01-07-26 | Kamil Majchrzak v. R Opelka -122 | 2-1 | Loss | -122 | 15 h 32 m | Show | |
(#8036) Reilly Opelka | ML | . Even though Kamil Majchrzak is getting tremendous respect considering the ML price in this contest, I don't believe that he's going to be able to have much success returning the massive serve from the American. Majchrzak, a lucky loser from qualifiers (lost to Halys,) did look great against Altmaier in the last round. However, this is a completely different matchup. Opelka also dominated his first round matchup against another qualifier. The service game is a massive deal on the hard courts in Australia. With an 11 inch height advantage as well as a 50 lbs weight difference, that's going to be the difference on Tuesday evening. Even though it might hurt him in the moving around the court department, these games are much quicker and the points don't go on for as long. Give me Opelka in this one. Burns' Prediction: 7-5, 6-3 Opelka. |
| 11-08-25 | Aryna Sabalenka -180 v. E Rybakina | 0-2 | Loss | -180 | 1 h 35 m | Show | |
(#8829) Aryna Sabalenka | ML | . I'm a big fan of Elena Rybakina. She's been flying under the radar for a couple of years now ever since she won the final at Wimbledon in 2022. That being said, this is her biggest final since then. I do believe that she's going to make things interesting. But, it's going to be very difficult for her, yet alone anyone, to knock off the "Queen of Hard Courts" at this very moment. Aryna Sabalenka is the best player in the world at the moment for a reason (#1 ranking) and she's done a pretty solid job against Rybakina in the past. As a matter of fact, she's 9-6 against her with a 3-1 record over her last four. Yes, Rybakina's been on an absolute tear down the stretch of the season. But, she tends to tighten up at times when the lights are the brightest. Give me Sabalenka on Saturday. Burns' Prediction: 7-6, 6-4 Sabalenka. |
| 11-05-25 | Brandon Nakashima -144 v. Marcos Giron | 0-2 | Loss | -144 | 8 h 58 m | Show | |
(#8237) Brandon Nakashima | ML | . Even though this line is a lot closer than I expected it to be, I do believe that Nakashima is the favorite here in Athens for a reason at the Belgrade Open. The 33rd ranked player in the world needed a matchup like this to break out of the slump. He's faced top level opponents for a while running now and even B2B defeats shouldn't faze him. Giron (ranked #72,) on the other hand, had been really struggling entering this tournament. While he won his first match, it was against an opponent ranked below him in the rankings. This will be a massive step up in competition and I don't see him having much of a chance. Nakashima has beaten him in three of the four past meetings and should win fairly easily in the Rof16. Burns' Prediction: 7-6, 6-4 Nakashima. |
| 09-04-25 | Naomi Osaka -111 v. Amanda Anisimova | Top | 1-2 | Loss | -111 | 10 h 58 m | Show |
(#8751) Naomi Osaka | ML | . Coming into this tournament, I wasn't entirely sure how Naomi Osaka would play. I mean, she played extremely well in Canada, but hadn't won anything big prior to this. Having said that, she looks very, very strong and I believe that she could very well win this tournament. She's got the experience, having won this event twice before. On the other hand, Anisimova had a lot of pressure going into her QF match vs. Iga Swiatek. When she lost 6-0, 6-0 in the final of Wimbledon, she was absolutely embarrassed. But, she got her revenge and it probably meant the world to her. Even though this US Open is far from over, I believe that there's going to be a bit of a sigh of relief for the American, having already accomplished a lot in this event. Now, she definitely will be striving for the championship, the American. But, Osaka is mentally there right now and when she's on, she can be the best Woman's player on the planet as we've already seen. I'm not sure if we can say the same thing about Amanda just yet. Give me Osaka here this evening. Burns' Prediction: 6-4, 7-6 Osaka. |
| 09-02-25 | Novak Djokovic -157 v. Taylor Fritz | Top | 3-1 | Win | 100 | 28 h 33 m | Show |
(#8245) Novak Djokovic | ML | . This match has a ton on the line. As the last American standing, Taylor Fritz is definitely going to be the fan favorite on Authur Ashe here this evening. But, can he live up to the expectations? In my eyes, it's going to be very, very difficult. Fritz is one of the best players in the world, don't get me wrong. However, he's never found his A-Game when it matters most, having never won a Grand Slam. On the other hand, Novak is still searching for that "out of this world" 25th Grand Slam title. Djokovic might be on the older side of things, but has proven time and time again that he can still play among the best. I mean, he's the GOAT of tennis and there's pretty much no debate anymore. However, one more win would be the cherry on top. In the H2H matchup, the Serbian is perfect. I mean, he's 10-0 all time against Fritz and seven of those wins have been on the hard court. Some would definitely say that he's "due" for a loss. Not me. As much as I respect Fritz and hope the best in his future tournaments, this isn't the right matchup for him and it most likely will never be. Yes, this is a big favorite for such a big play. However, I'm all in on Novak this evening. Burns' Prediction: 6-4, 2-6, 7-6, 7-5 Djokovic. |
| 08-27-25 | Raphael Collignon v. Casper Ruud -6.5 | 3-2 | Loss | -110 | 12 h 30 m | Show | |
(#8184) Casper Ruud | SET SPREAD | . There was a bit of question towards whether Casper Ruud would face fatigue problems here in the first round of the US Open, considering he just played in the Mixed Doubles Final at this venue a couple of days ago. However, he shut those down in a hurry and won fairly fast, in straight sets. Having said that, I expect him to be very strong again in his second round matchup against an opponent that just won his first Major match of his career. Now, there's definitely promise in the game of Raphael Collignon. However, this change in level that he's about to face from his first opponent compared to a top 10 player in the world in Casper Ruud is very, very significant. This match should be done in three sets and expect Ruud to cover the match set spread. Burns' Prediction: 6-4, 6-1, 6-3 Ruud. |
| 08-12-25 | Alexei Popyrin +165 v. Andrey Rublev | 1-2 | Loss | -100 | 15 h 13 m | Show | |
(#8419) Alexei Popyrin // ML //. Despite being quite the underdog, I believe that the Australian should not be counted out whatsoever this morning. He's on the come up again after not performing so well in the Clay & Grass Court seasons. Having said that, the Hard Court is definitely his strongest. Popryrin owns the edge over Rublev in the H2H matchup, leading it 2-1. Talking about Andrey Rublev, I believe that he's one of the most overrated players on tour. Don't get me wrong, he wins the occasional tournament and has good runs. However, the Russian has had a bit of trouble in recent weeks and isn't in the best of forms coming into this match. I'll give the edge to the Aussie and gladly take him at this price. Burns' Prediction: 4-6, 7-5, 6-2 Popyrin. |
| 08-11-25 | Frances Tiafoe -145 v. Ugo Humbert | 2-0 | Win | 100 | 14 h 56 m | Show | |
(#8405) Frances Tiafoe // ML //. Not getting too much respect these days, Frances Tiafoe is still a very good tennis player. Playing in his home country on Monday, as these guys prepare for the US Open coming up, I believe that the American should hold a pretty sizeable edge here against Uno Humbert. Note that Tiafoe has a winning record against the Frenchman as well. Looking more at Humbert, he's a very solid player. However, he's still more than ten spots lower in the ATP rankings than Frances. Humbert has great ground strokes from the baseline. But, I believe that today's match will go to the more comfortable server and I believe that to be Tiafoe. The home crowd should help him as well. Burns' Prediction: 6-3, 6-4 Tiafoe . |

| 08-10-25 | Jenson Brooksby -110 v. Arthur Cazaux | 2-0 | Win | 100 | 13 h 25 m | Show | |
(#8371) Jenson Brooksby // ML //. On paper, these two guys are pretty evenly matched. While Cazaux ranks just over 20 spots above the American, I believe that he's more into the clay courts than the hard courts (though he claims to like both.) Having already played a match here in Cincinnati, Brooksby should have the momentum coming into this match that Cazaux doesn't have. Also note that this is in the USA. Brooksby will have the fans behind him throughout this entire match. Cazaux, who was actually a lucky loser (had to go through qualifying,) maybe shouldn't even be here considering that he's already lost in this tournament. Having said that, I'll take the slight favorite American on home soil. Burns' Prediction: 6-4, 7-6 Brooksby . |
| 07-24-25 | Venus Williams +350 v. Magdalena Frech | 0-2 | Loss | -100 | 19 h 37 m | Show | |
(#8639) Venus Williams // ML //. Honestly, after witnessing the return of Venus Williams on Tuesday, I'm still pretty shocked to see this line in this match on Thursday. I loved the value on Venus at +1000 or more against Stearns but wasn't going to take that big of an underdog on someone who hadn't played in 16 months. Yes, she's 45 years old and there aren't too many 45yr olds that can still play sports, in any sports. That being said, she just knocked off the world number #35 with ease. What's to say she can't beat Frech (world #24) on Thursday, a woman who hasn't won consecutive matches in single since the Aussie Open. Let's also note that Frech is 9-18 in 2025 (struggling dearly) and just 4-9 on the hard courts. Give me Venus to shock the world once more on Thursday evening. Burns' Prediction: 6-4, 3-6, 7-5 Venus Williams. |
| 07-24-25 | A De Minaur -170 v. Jiri Lehecka | 2-1 | Win | 100 | 12 h 58 m | Show | |
(#8309) Alex De Minaur // ML //. Although the Czechia player is more than likely feeling confident entering this match having won the most recent meeting between these two players last month on grass, I believe that this is a let down spot for him. Lehecka is a quality player, don't get me wrong. However, he's simply not at the level that some of the top 15 are at which is why he's yet to crack the top 20. On the other hand. De Minaur might be playing the best tennis of his career this past month, since that defeat against Lehecka. The Aussie played extremely well in Wimbledon and it was only a match against the best player of all time in Novak Djokovic which saw him falter. Other than that, he looked utterly dominant through the first three matches of that tournament, as well as the first round of this one. The all-time H2H between these guys is 1-1 and I expect De Minaur to get the best of Lehecka on Thursday. Burns' Prediction: 6-3, 6-2 De Minaur |
| 07-21-25 | Giovanni M Perricard -165 v. A Vukic | 1-2 | Loss | -165 | 22 h 24 m | Show | |
(#8203) Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard // ML //. There's no question that the French product, Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard has been struggling recently. He's lost three consecutive matches and hasn't been able to crack through against the best of the best players quite yet. That being said, I believe that this switch back to the hard courts should help him tremendously. He just lost to Taylor Fritz, the #5 in the world in an epic five setter at Wimbledon. Fritz went on to the Semi Finals. On the other hand, I just won against Aleksandar Vukic a few days ago in his straight sets loss against Nava in Los Cabos. Vukic is also not playing great right now and it's only going to get worse if he draws more opponents like this one. The Aussie lacks the power to compete in this sort of matchup and I expect a ton of aces for the Frenchman. This should be done in straight sets as well, but I'll take the full match just to be safe. Burns' Prediction: 6-4, 6-4 Mpetshi Perricard. |
| 07-18-25 | Jerome Kym v. Arthur Cazaux -135 | 1-2 | Win | 100 | 9 h 16 m | Show | |
(#8454) Arthur Cazaux // ML //. Yes, he might have the home crowd on his side and might be playing solid tennis here in Gstaad. However, Joshua Kym is not a very known player on the tour and he hasn't made too many appearances on this level quite yet. The Swiss player recently lost four consecutive matches on the pro tour (all qualifying matches) and has yet to face anyone the caliber of Cazaux. This will be a huge step up in competition. Playing very well here in Switzerland, Arthur Cazaux has already knocked off two opponents ranked higher than him in the ATP rankings, including Tomas Martin Etcheverry (ranked 58th) who's known for being his best on clay. Today, he has the chance to go up against someone lower in the ATP ranks and I expect him to take full advantage, even against the home crowd. Give me Cazaux. Burns' Prediction: 6-4, 7-5 Cazaux. |
| 07-16-25 | Patrick Zahraj v. Roman Andres Burruchaga -1.5 | 1-2 | Win | 100 | 10 h 59 m | Show | |
(#8438) Roman Andres Burruchaga // SET SPREAD //. While Zahraj somehow made it into the main draw as a "Lucky Loser" after losing in the qualifying rounds, he's going to be completely outmatched in this match against the Argentinian player. Both guys are relatively new to the tour, which makes it a bit harder to predict. But, at the end of the day, there are more than 140 placement positions in the ATP rankings that separate these two players. Burruchaga, the younger of the two players, is coming off a very good win (6-3, 6-1) in the opening round of this tournament. He managed to steal a set off the #17 player in the ATP rankings (Karen Khachanov) back in May and that match was on the clay as well meaning he's solid on this surface. He's by far the stronger player at the moment and I expect him to dominate on Wednesday and make his way into the QF's. Give me the Argentinian. Burns' Prediction: 6-3, 6-2 Burruchaga . |
| 07-14-25 | A Vukic v. Emilio Nava -109 | 0-2 | Win | 100 | 19 h 24 m | Show | |
(#8306) Emilio Nava // ML //. Even though Vukic won a couple of games during the match against Sinner in Wimbledon in the second round, he is definitely not at the level of some of the top guys on the ATP tour. As a matter of fact, he's actually only 5-16 this calendar year against all of his opponents on the tour. On the other hand, I'm not going to sit here and call Nava an amazing player as he's ranked below Vukic in the overall standings. However, he does bring in a lot more confidence having won a lot of matches at a lower level this year. He will play a great counter style to what Vukic wants to do and I find it hard to see the Aussie pulling through. Expect the American to get the job done here. Burns' Prediction: 6-4, 6-3 Nava. |
| 07-13-25 | Jannik Sinner +110 v. Carlos Alcaraz | Top | 3-1 | Win | 110 | 37 h 9 m | Show |
(#8253) Jannik Sinner // ML //. If you guys remember, I had Alcaraz in the epic 5 hour and 29 minute war at Roland Garros just a month ago. Well, the #1 and #2 in the world meet once again in the finals of Wimbledon and I'm expecting more fireworks. This time around though, I'm taking the world #1. Why? Well, as I mentioned in my, "Wimbledon 2025: Preview & Predictions" article prior to the tournament, "I am very high on Jannik Sinner coming in. The loss to Bublik will have given him lots of time to regroup and refocus to get ready for this tournament. Although it's been a while since his last win, he's beaten Alcaraz multiple times before and seems to be the only player that can challenge him. If they match up again in the finals (I believe that there's a pretty good chance,) this could be another epic war." Well, here we are. Sinner has the mentality of someone that simply wants to win and I expect him to be mentally focussed and locked in for this match. Don't get me wrong, Alcaraz has that same mentality and wants to be the best and beat the best. However, the way Jannik played against Novak yesterday, I don't see him being stopped. If he gets a lead, there won't be any looking back this time. This is Sinner's time to shine and these guys will go back and forth for a long time as some of the greats of the past watch on. This is my WIMBLEDON GAME OF THE YEAR on Sunday morning. Burns' Prediction: 6-4, 6-7, 7-6, 6-4 Sinner . |
| 07-08-25 | Taylor Fritz v. Karen Khachanov OVER 3.5 | Top | 3-1 | Win | 100 | 15 h 26 m | Show |
(#8245) Taylor Fritz @ (#8246) Karen Khachanov // OVER //. So far in Wimbledon, Taylor Fritz has had a very up and down first four games. His first two went five sets after he lost the opening set in both. In one of those, he came back from down two sets to love. In his last couple of matches, they've been done rather quickly. In the Round of 16, his opponent retired in the second set. Therefore, he should be well rested for this quarterfinal match on Tuesday morning. On the other hand, Karen Khachanov may be the underdog, but he's not going to go away without a fight. He's also won two five setters in this tournament. He's also beaten Fritz in both meetings vs. each other in the past which should give him a ton of confidence. I believe that these two players match up very well against each other and we could be in for an all out war. Neither player gives up easily and there will be fireworks. Expect lots of hard hitting and I wouldn't be shocked if it goes the distance. Hammer the "over." Burns' Prediction: 7-6, 6-4, 6-7, 6-3 Fritz . |
| 07-06-25 | Linda Noskova v. Amanda Anisimova -130 | 1-2 | Win | 100 | 8 h 9 m | Show | |
(#8730) Amanda Anisimova // ML //. While not long ago, I would have called Anisimova an inconsistent player on the Women's tour as she couldn't really figure things out. Already in 2025, she's won her First WTA 1000 championship as well as a WTA 500 final on grass this season. I believe that she's really stepping up her game at the right moment and will be a hard out in this years Wimbledon. On the other hand, Linda Noskova has been slowly creeping her way up the Women's ranks as well. Ever since beating Swiatek in the Australian Open last year, she's been climbing the rankings. At just 20 years of age, there's still plenty to learn though. These players have similar play styles. I simply believe that Anisimova is the more consistent ball striker right now and she will see her way into the Quaterfinals of this years draw. Burns' Prediction: 6-4, 7-6 Anisimova. |
| 07-05-25 | Ben Shelton -1.5 v. M Fucsovics | 3-0 | Win | 100 | 15 h 51 m | Show | |
(#8197) Ben Shelton // SET SPREAD //. Although Ben Shelton's 2nd round matchup against Rinky Hijikata had to be finished yesterday, it was only for a single minute. Nobody knows why the umpire suspended play for the night and we will never find out. That should should put even more fire into the American who looks to get this 3rd match done quickly. Now, Marton Fucsovics did an excellent job at coming back from down two sets to one against Gael Monfils in the last round. But, this is a massive step up in competition. Yes, Monfils shows signs of brilliance, but he's actually the oldest player on the ATP Tour right now. Shelton will not fatigue as he's extremely young. With how good Ben's service game is, expect him to get out of this match without dropping more than a set, if any. Burns' Prediction: 6-3, 6-4, 6-4 Shelton. |
| 07-04-25 | Elise Mertens v. Elina Svitolina -145 | 2-0 | Loss | -145 | 13 h 24 m | Show | |
(#8696) Elina Svitolina // ML //. Two ranked players matching up in the 3rd round (Round of 32) of a Major is never fun. Having said that, I believe that the better player is the favorite in this encounter and for good reason. However, I'm surprised that she's not favored by more. Svitolina beat Mertens on the grass in Germany just two weeks ago. That match did not go to a third set and the Ukrainian felt very good in her play. Now, even though Svitolina lost her next match after that, just beating Mertens a short time ago should give her the confidence to do it again on Friday. Mertens is the slightly bigger player that likes to use her power. But, Svitolina does an excellent job of mixing up her tactics and that should be enough to get to the Round of 16. Give me the #13 ranked player in the world. Burns' Prediction: 6-4, 7-6 Svitolina. |
| 07-04-25 | N Jarry v. Joao Fonseca OVER 41 | 3-1 | Push | 0 | 10 h 44 m | Show | |
(#8217) Nicolas Jarry vs. (#8218) Joao Fonseca // OVER //. Even though this total is extremely high, I believe that it's for good reason. Nicolas Jarry is playing extremely well on the Wimbledon grass, and has played some phenomenal tennis over the past week already. That being said, it's going to be very difficult for him to knock off the rising Brazilian star. Having said that, he's shown that he's capable of coming back from down a set or two already in this tournament as he's came back from down two sets to love against Holger Rune already. Fonseca likes to get into longer rallies and will try to wear the Chilean down. I believe that this matchup stylistically will favor a longer match and therefore, I've got the "over" on Friday in Round 3. Burns' Prediction: 7-5, 4-6, 7-6, 6-3 Fonseca. |
| 07-03-25 | Hailey Baptiste v. Victoria Mboko -135 | 2-0 | Loss | -135 | 17 h 37 m | Show | |
(#8664) Victoria Mboko // ML //. Neither of these two women have much experience on the grass court, both being quite new in the pro game. Baptiste is 5-5 all time while Mboko is 3-1. Having said that, I believe that it gives the edge to the player that's more in form. Including her first round victory against #25 ranked Magdalena Frech, the Canadian owns a ridiculous 45-7 record in the year of 2025. She's taking the woman's game by storm and should be able to knock off the American who owns just a 22-15 record in this calendar year. Give me Mboko to continue her run at Wimbledon on Thursday. Burns' Prediction: 6-4, 7-6 Mboko. |
| 06-22-25 | Mccartney Kessler v. Dayana Yastremska +100 | 2-0 | Loss | -100 | 6 h 9 m | Show | |
(#8762) Dayana Yastremska // MONEYLINE //. Yesterday, I won with Dayana Yastremska as she beat Magda Linette in straight sets. Now, even though she's the slight underdog in this final, I believe that she's going to be the aggressor once again in this match (the final.) Yastremska hasn't had much success in recent tournament finals that she's been in which is probably the reason for the line. However, this is one that she's going to want to have and I believe that she's playing great tennis at the moment. On the other hand, McCartney Kessler has also played well coming into this match in this tournament. She's got wins over Haddad Maia as well as Boulter leading up to this game and those are some big wins. Having said that, she'll most likely be on the defensive for this match like she was against Boulter. The Britt wasn't successful (forced three sets.) But, I think that the Ukrainian will be. She's playing much better than Boulter had been at the moment. Give me Yastremska to win this WTA 250 title in Nottingham. Burns' Prediction: 6-4, 6-4 Yastremska. |
| 06-21-25 | Dayana Yastremska -140 v. Magda Linette | 2-0 | Win | 100 | 15 h 44 m | Show | |
(#8759) Dayana Yastremska // MONEYLINE //. This is the perfect opportunity for someone like Dayana Yastremska to steal one of these WTA 250 tournaments with most of the higher seeded players already out. Up against Linette, I believe that the Ukrainian has the power advantage and will be able to out muscle the Pole here in the Semifinals. Yastremska made easy work of the Canadian Layla Fernandez in the last round and is playing some of her best tennis on the grass. Earlier this year back in Dubai (February,) these two players matched up and it was a pretty straight forward straight-set victory for Dayana. She owns a 4-1 record in the all-time H2H matchup. Although Linette is playing well too and is the higher seed, I believe that Yastremska is the slight favorite for a reason and will get the job done here in Nottingham. Burns' Prediction: 6-4, 7-5 Yastremska. |
| 06-18-25 | Daniel Evans +1.5 v. Brandon Nakashima | 0-2 | Loss | -140 | 10 h 34 m | Show | |
(#8345) Dan Evans // SET SPREAD // . Despite Dan Evans not being ranked very high in the ATP standings, he's more than capable of winning matches on this surface, especially playing in front of his home crowd. The Britt has already taken down a formidable American opponent in this tournament in Francis Tiafoe and he looks to upset another American here today. Yes, Nakashima is a very solid player himself and has done very well to defeat Mpetshi Perricard in the opening round. However, he did drop a set in that match and underdogs have done very well in all of the ATP & WTA tournament this past week. I believe that there's plenty of value on taking Evans to win this match outright, but I'll be playing it safe and grab Evans just to win a single set on Wednesday. Burns' Prediction: 6-3, 4-6, 7-6 Evans. |
| 06-08-25 | Jannik Sinner v. Carlos Alcaraz -105 | Top | 2-3 | Win | 100 | 26 h 36 m | Show |
(#8454) Carlos Alcaraz // ML //. What more could you ask for. The world number one against the world number two. Yes, Sinner has yet to drop a set and has an epic record going in Grand Slam tournaments right now. However, this matchup has given him all sorts of trouble in recent games. This might be the only man that can stop the Italian superstar. Carlos Alcaraz, my selection to win the tournament prior to the start, has been pretty dominant as well in this tournament. Yes, he's lost a couple of sets. But, that's not much of a concern to me. He gets the job done and has the intangibles, just like Sinner, to be great for a long time yet. Since Sinner came back from the 3-month ban, Alcaraz is the only man to defeat him. I'm expecting a classic in the final of this year's French Open, ultimately going in the favor of the better clay court player. Alcaraz is 7-4 all time vs. Sinner including four consecutive wins. Expect a fifth straight here. Burns' Prediction: 6-7, 7-6, 6-4, 5-7, 6-3 Alcaraz |
| 06-06-25 | Jannik Sinner v. Novak Djokovic +339 | 3-0 | Loss | -100 | 10 h 15 m | Show | |
(#8450) Novak Djokovic // ML //. Don't get me wrong, this will definitely be considered a "long shot" winner if it hits. However, I do not see it as one. I won with Novak in the Quarterfinals against Alexander Zverev and he looked as strong as ever. Novak is in search of his record extending 25th Grand Slam and that would be an epic milestone to accomplish. Having said that, this is against the world #1 at the moment, which is a little bit scary. I believe that Jannik Sinner is going to be at the top or near the top of the tennis world for a long time still to come. He's very early in his career and there's tons more to come. Having said that, this is going to be an all out war. They are 4-4 all time against each other with Novak winning two of the three in Grand Slam events. This line is too good to pass up on the best player of all time. Burns' Prediction: 4-6, 7-6, 3-6, 6-4, 7-5 Djokovic. |
| 06-05-25 | Aryna Sabalenka v. Iga Swiatek +120 | Top | 2-1 | Loss | -100 | 34 h 37 m | Show |
(#8950) Iga Świątek // ML //. While I did make an article at the beginning of this tournament about both the Men's & Woman's Draw, which you can see on my page @BigAl's. I would make some changes to it if I could redo it. One of those being that nobody should ever count out the "Queen Of Clay" of today's game of tennis. Swiatek had been struggling in 2025, even on the clay entering this tournament. However, she's won this event three consecutive years now and is making a run at a fourth straight title. I didn't expect this quality from her given the form coming in. However, having watched the entirety of the tournament, I firmly believe that she very well could win this tournament once again. Don't get me wrong, beating Aryna Sabalenka, the world number one, will be no easy feat. I mean she's a dominant force in the woman's game. But, the one thing going is that clay probably isn't Sabalenka's best surface as she likes the shear power opposed to the spin that Iga uses. Having said that, the three time defending champ should have the upper edge in terms of court. Over the years, Iga has won over the crowd too. Expect that to be a factor that helps her succeed. Even if she loses the first set, Iga has the composure to battle back under pressure. I'm taking the best clay court woman's player in the game right now in her favorite event. Burns' Prediction: 3-6, 6-4, 7-5 Swiatek. |
| 06-04-25 | Alexander Zverev v. Novak Djokovic -109 | 1-3 | Win | 100 | 15 h 20 m | Show | |
(#8444) Novak Djokovic // ML //. As some of you may recall, I had Djokovic as my biggest selection of the Australian Open against Zverev. While it may have lost, the game wasn't finished and it was due to an injury by Novak. This time around, I'm back on who I believe to be the stronger player. Djokovic has been dominant through the first four rounds and has yet to drop a single set. That being said, he should be fresher than most here in France. Burns' Prediction: 6-4, 6-7, 6-4, 7-6 Djokovic. |
| 06-02-25 | Madison Keys -1.5 v. Hailey Baptiste | 2-0 | Win | 100 | 11 h 8 m | Show | |
(#8937) Madison Keys // SET SPREAD //. As good as Hailey Baptiste has looked in this tournament so far, this is a very difficult matchup for her in an All-American clash. Baptiste, currently ranked 70th in the Women's game of tennis, has had just one opponent ranked inside the top 25 in her Roland Garros run so far. She's been good, but this is a big step up in competition. Baptiste will try to win with her aggressiveness. But the savviness of the veteran Madison Keys should be enough here. Talking about Keys, she's the most recent Grand Slam champion on tour after winning the Aussie Open earlier this year. Now, Keys did struggle a bit last round against Kenin, and had to fight off three match points in that win. However, she should have that sub-par performance out of her system here this evening as this should be a much easier contest. I have Keys winning this match in straight sets. Burns' Prediction: 6-4, 6-3 Keys. |
| 05-31-25 | Joao Fonseca v. Jack Draper -180 | 0-3 | Win | 100 | 4 h 31 m | Show | |
(#8400) Jack Draper // ML //. While I have the upmost respect for Joao Fonseca and what he's already been able to accomplish at 18 years old, I believe that this. is a very difficult matchup for him in the 3rd round of the French Open. Fonseca did not have any success whatsoever when these two players matched up back at Indian Well earlier this year. While that was a hard court, the surface change to clay shouldn't matter too much as Draper is playing very well this season on the clay as well. Looking at Jack Draper a bit more, he's improved all the way to the #5 ranking in the Men's game of tennis. He's been firing on all cylinders this season and there doesn't look to be an end in sight. Yes, I'd love to see the youngster make some more noise. However, I do not see it happening here on Saturday in France. Give me Jack. Burns' Prediction: 6-4, 7-6, 6-7, 6-3 Draper. |
| 05-29-25 | Madison Keys v. Katie Boulter UNDER 19 | Top | 2-0 | Win | 100 | 7 h 17 m | Show |
(#8877) Madison Keys vs. (#8878) Katie Boulter // UNDER //. After winning the Australian Open to begin 2025, Madison Keys has made a run into the top ten of the Women's rankings. She's one of the premier players in the game of tennis right now and there's no question that she deserves to be the heavy favorite here today. These two have never matched up before, but it's the determination of the American that has her playing much better tennis this year. Katie Boulter is a fine player herself. She's made some deep runs in tournaments over her career but just doesn't really seem to have it against the top players in the game. Boulter is bringing in quite a bit of confidence though after winning the Trophée Lagardère right before this. However, that competition didn't have many strong players at all and Boulter was expected to win. Having said all of that, Keys should be able to win this matchup pretty easily on Thursday. She's got the better overall game and her return of serve abilities will cause Boulter problems. I'm expecting a straight set win for Keys that will see this game see less than 19.5 total games. This is my French Open TOY (Women's.) Match Prediction: 6-3, 6-2 Keys. |
| 05-25-25 | Kyrian Jacquet v. Nuno Borges -155 | 2-3 | Win | 100 | 10 h 9 m | Show | |
(#8300) Nuno Borges // ML //. Coming into the French Open as the 41st ranked player in Men's Tennis at the moment, Nuno Borges has the chance to welcome Kyrian Jacquet into his first ever French Open main draw. The 24yr old from France has never played in his home nations Grand Slam and this will be a big time achievement for him even if he losses this game, which I expect. He had to go through qualifying which was gruelling for him as he had to go three sets in one of the three matches. Nuno Borges is one of those players that won't go down without swinging. Even if he loses a set in this match, he will not fade. He's more than capable of beating some of the better players on tour and I expect him to have no problem with a qualifier in his first round matchup in this year's Roland Garros. He made the Round of 32 in the Australian Open earlier this year. Expect at least a second round showing for Borges who will most likely go up against Casper Ruud in the second round. Match Prediction: 6-4, 6-3, 6-7, 7-5 Borges. |
| 05-12-25 | Matteo Berrettini v. Casper Ruud -150 | Top | 0-2 | Win | 100 | 11 h 40 m | Show |
(#8200) Casper Ruud // MONEYLINE //. Although Matteo Berrettini is playing extremely well this season and will have the home crowd behind him, I believe that he will be in for a tough encounter her in the final match of Monday's slate. Against nearly anybody else in the field, I would like the Italian to maybe surprise some people with his great forehand. Having said that, he's going up against maybe the hottest player in the field right now in Casper Ruud who's coming off an ATP 1000 win last week in Madrid. Ruud is and has been ranked in the top 10 for a while now. He's always been very talented on clay and this tournament happens to be on the clay courts as well. As the most recent winner on the tour, he's currently riding a seven match win streak. Now, it's sometimes hard in the first round after winning a tournament like that. But, Ruud battled and managed to beat Bublik in that match (three sets.) Now, he's going to be ready for this big time encounter. Give me the better seed. Match Prediction: 7-6, 4-6, 6-3 Ruud. |
