Four-year starter Pumphrey closing in on the all-time NCAAF rushing record and he'll like to play catch up after taking off the pads for the second half in last week's spanking of Hawaii. Northwestern is still looking to get Bowl eligible so this is a must win. The Wildcat offense was purring before understandably being slowed down at Ohio State and Wisky. DMack's Tuesday Night NCAAF MAC Super Play is is on the Western Michigan Broncos Unbeaten Western controls it's own destiny and is in line for a January 1st "Big Six" Bowl if they simply take car of business and win out. The favorite has covered the last eight in the series and Kent won the last two games in the series by 17 and 18 points but these two have not met since 2013 so we can only go by what we have here on the field today. The Broncos have won their three conference road games by 39-41-32 points but face a hard trying Kent team that's last five games were decided by four points or less. That said, the toughest of the bunch was a home game against Ohio and not against another team with a pulse. Fleck has this team rolling and focused and in my opinion is the best of the MAC teams that have flirted with the big time like the Northern Illinois teams of 4-5 years ago. MAC home teams are 11-22 ATS this year, dogs are 5-9. Western Michigan 45-13.

The Pack is also just 1-7 ATS themselves this year and this what they don't have going for them. They're on the road where they are 0-4 ATS and are No.125 in the nation stopping the run. How bad are they ??? FCS Cal Poly (a nice program) smoked them for 383 yards. The Lobos average 357 yards (6.8 per cary) with their veer option and need one win to become Bowl eligible for the second year in a row. Heady stuff when you consider Davie took over a winless program four years ago. At the end of the day, Nevada rushes for less than half of their opponent and is just No.91 throwing the Ball. Navy made some key mistakes including a turnover against South Florida in last effectively taking them out of the game. The team never quit though and stormed back for an improbable cover. Navy will get their points against a Notre Dame defense that has been awful all year. The Irish are off a bye to work on the option as they have Army on deck. Don't give ND stop unit any props for holding Miami to 314 yards. Three fat guys and a poodle could have held Kaaya and the terrible Cane offense to 308. Boise is just 6-11 as a HF under Harsin which includes 0-4 this year. That said, the Broncos are 9-3 ATS in their L12 following a straight up loss and have won 11 straight in the series by an average of 31+ points per game. The Spartans never show up on the road where they are 2-12 ATS L14 as a road mutt. Looking for an effort like we saw from Broncs in revenge game vs. New Mexico. Boise 56-13.

Both teams come off brutal losses last week and now both teams need help after having control of their own destinies in their respective divisions of the MAC. Toledo has never really been the same since the BYU loss and last week Solich and Ohio had the perfect gameplan to solve the high octane Rocket offense. Akron has no such option as the Zips have allowed better than 1000 yards rushing over the their last three games and Toledo will be all over that while opening things up for Woodside and a very good passing game. The Zips are 0-3 when they don't score at least 31 points. They may do that here but just have no way to trade points. Akron 3-11 as a home dog under Bowden. Lay it with Toledo.

Sure they are ranked No.4 in the FBS but that is deceiving as the Eagles gave up 105 points to V Tech and Clemson and played Georgia Tech, Buffalo, Wagner and UMass in their other games. DMack's MAC Power Pack Play is on Western Michigan
The unbeaten Broncos came out a bit flat last week and eventually got backdoored by Northern Illinois despite winning 45-30. Zips are game but depend on running the ball and they just won't do that here versus formidable Bronc front seven. Western in Top 25 for the first time since the 60s and won't take that lightly. Western Mich has five wins of 29+ and a QB with a 15-0 TD/Int ratio. Broncos roll.

This is a down year for Northern Illinois who just play no defense allowing 499 and allows a tic under 38 ppg. Chips will get definitely get theirs and figure to be in a foul mood after being upset at home last week to Ball State at home as a two TD favorite. C Mich has always had success in this series going 6-3 SU and ATS in the series and that was against some very goo Husky outfits, Central Mich is the better team and wins comfortably by 10+.

DMack's NCAAF Week Seven Can of Whup Ass winner is on La Tech
Arguments I have seen against La Tech here is basically a lack of motivation. Why ??? The game is being played at Foxboro and offered on ESPN 3 so I think Skip Holtz will be able able to get his crew up. The Bulldogs should be able to do what they want on offense and we fully expect Higgins (454, 5 TDs, LW) to Henderson (232, 29.0, 3 TD's LW) to have another big game here. La Tech is nothing special on defense but only need to game plan for Minuteman stud back Young here. UMass is a loser of five of last six at home and seems to wear down late. La Tech 45-13.

The problem stopping the run does not bode well for the Dogs who face a beast mode Jamaal Williams (866, 6.2, 10 TDS) and an underrated QB in Taysom Hill. BYU scheduling was done by the Maquis di Sade as Cougars follow blowout win at Michigan State hosting SEC team with Boise on deck. Fresno is 126th in rushing defense allowing 309 ypg and faces the second best back in SDSU history (after Marshall Faulk) in Pumphrey (898 yards). Aztecs are 11-1 ATS in L12 MWC games and 7-3 as a RF L10. BTW, Sand Diego State outrushed this team 305-12 last year. SDSU 42-10.

EMU off to a fast 4-1 start but against nobodies. They'll have their work cut out for them as Logan Whiteside who comes off 500+/five TD day and faces the nation's No.99 rated pass defense. The Red Woolves are in a brutal matchup here as they allow 239 yards per game on the ground (117th) and face an elite ground attack (option/veer) avgg 318 ypg overland. The Eagles loss was a revenge spot to a very good and very motivated Western Michigan. Southern grinds this team down and extends late winning by three touchdowns.
