11-13-21 | Boston College +1.5 v. Georgia Tech | Top | 41-30 | Win | 100 | 14 h 38 m | Show |
Boston College has had an up and down season. They started nicely enough, winning their first four games and covering three. Since then, they are just 1-4 S/U and 2-3 ATS. They are coming off a win over Virginia Tech last week, 17-3 as a 3-point dog. Georgia Tech has lost two straight games, including last week at Miami Florida, 30-33. They are 3-6 S/U and 5-4 ATS on the season. Boston College has the 99th ranked offense and the 28th ranked defense. BC getting a point or two here on Saturday. I look for them to win outright so won't need the points. Take Boston College. |
11-09-21 | Akron +25.5 v. Western Michigan | Top | 40-45 | Win | 100 | 6 h 13 m | Show |
Akron has just two wins on the season as they head to Western Michigan tonight. The Zips have lost three straight after losing to Ball State last Tuesday, 25-31. The team's only wins have come against FBC Bryant and Bowling Green. Western opened the year with impressive wins over Buffalo and Pittsburgh en route to a 4-1 start. However, the Broncos have dropped three of the last four games. They did win big over Kent State, 64-31. The team's offense is good, ranked 42nd overall with a 432.8 yards per game average. Akron has gone to a freshman QB which has helped a lot of late and made this team better. Add to that fact that Western has covered the spread just one time in their last eight MAC games and I'll take a shot plus the points here tonight. |

11-07-21 | Cardinals v. 49ers -3 | Top | 31-17 | Loss | -110 | 16 h 3 m | Show |
The Arizona Cardinals lost last week for the first time season as they saw their 7-0 record drop to 7-1 after losing to Green Bay, 21-24. The offense had their lowest rushing performance of the year, just 74 yards and 334 total yards and three turnovers to Green Bay's no turnovers. QB Kyler Murray injured his ankle in that game and while he is probable today, you have to wonder how this will hinder his ability to scramble and run. WR DeAndre Hopkins missed the Green Bay game and is questionable here today. With WR A.J Green out due to Covid, this could leave the receiving core very limited. With a healthy QB and WR's this Arizona team is arguably the best in the NFL. WIth them hurting, I'll have to take the 49ers here on Sunday. Play San Francisco. |
11-06-21 | LSU v. Alabama -28.5 | Top | 14-20 | Loss | -110 | 18 h 43 m | Show |
Alabama has rebounded nicely from its loss to Texas A&M back on October 9th, 38-41. They have rebounded with wins at Mississippi State, 49-9 and then last week at home over Tennessee, 52-24. That is four covers in their last five games. LSU will have its hands full here today after losing last week at Ole Miss, 17-31. That makes three losses both S/U and ATS in their last four games for the Tigers. Not sure how LSU will stop or stay with this Alabama team here on Saturday. I look for a big Alabama blowout win. Play the Tide. |
11-03-21 | Northern Illinois +3.5 v. Kent State | Top | 47-52 | Loss | -110 | 7 h 36 m | Show |
Northern Illinois is coming off a close win at Central Michigan, 39-38 as a 6-point dog. The Huskies have won five games in a row since their loss to Michigan back on Sept 18th. They are now 6-2 and 4-0 in the MAC. The Huskies are ranked 66th in offense and 96th in defense. They will take on Kent State tonight. Kent is coming off a win at Ohio, 34-27 as a 5-point favorite. Kent is 4-4 overall on the season and 3-1 in the MAC. Kent is ranked 28th in offense, but 123rd in defense. The Huskies are coming off a week off where they have done well, going 7-0 ATS the last seven times after a bye week. They are also 19-7-1 ATS in their last 27 games as a road dog and 40-18-2 their last 60 on the road overall. The Golden Flashes are just 1-4 ATS their last five games vs a team with a winning record and 2-5-1 ATS at home their last eight vs a winning team. I'm going to take the visitor here plus the points. Take Northern Illinois. |
10-31-21 | Titans v. Colts -2.5 | Top | 34-31 | Loss | -120 | 12 h 36 m | Show |
The Indianapolis Colts are coming off a win last week at San Francisco, 30-18. They held the 49ers to just 280 total yards and had a +2 in the turnover ratio. The Colts are 3-4 S/U and 5-2 ATS on the season. The Titans come into today's contest off two huge wins at home over Buffalo (34-31) and last week over Kansas City, 27-3. They held the Chiefs to just 334 total yards and sacked Patrick Mahomes four times, once putting him out of the game. The Titans are now 5-2 S/U and ATS on the season. They have the 11th ranked offense, 3rd rushing, 24th passing and the league's top rusher in Derrick Henry. What concerns me here with the Titans is that they might be in for a letdown this week after beating two of the top AFC teams in a row. I'll take the Colts at home here on Sunday. |
10-30-21 | Texas Tech v. Oklahoma -19 | Top | 21-52 | Win | 100 | 15 h 41 m | Show |
Big 12 Battle here on Sunday has Texas Tech taking on No 4 Oklahoma in Norman. Texas Tech is coming off a loss at home to Kansas State, 24-25. The Red Raiders are now 5-3 S/U and 4-4 ATS on the year. OU is 7-0 S/U and 3-4 ATS on the season. They are coming off a win at Kansas last week, 35-23, but failed to cover the 38-point line. The Sooners are ranked 17th in offense, while Texas Tech is ranked 37th. On defense, Tech is 70th overall while the Sooners are 69th. Feeling here is that Oklahoma will be able to name their score in this one against a poor Tech defense. Take the host here. Play Oklahoma. |
10-28-21 | Packers +6.5 v. Cardinals | Top | 24-21 | Win | 100 | 8 h 17 m | Show |
The two hottest teams in the NFL meet here tonight as the Arizona Cardinals host the Green Bay Packers. Green opened with that loss to the New Orleans Saints, 3-38. Since then they are 6-0 both S/U and ATS. They are coming off a home win over Washington, 24-10. The Packers defense has gotten better and better as the season has progressed, now ranked 7th overall and 22nd vs the rush and 6th vs the rush. Arizona is a perfect 7-0 on the season and 6-1 ATS. So something has to give tonight with these two hot teams. The Cardinals are coming off a 31-5 win at home against Houston. They have scored at least 30 points in six of their seven games this year. The defense is also excellent, ranked 5th overall on the season. Despite the high scoring average, they are ranked just 7th overall on offense, 5th rushing and 11th passing. The defense will be without JJ Watt tonight who is nursing a shoulder injury. The Packers could be without WR Davante Adams who is going through a Covid protocol. Still, for me, the 6.5-points looks to much to pass on with Aaron Rodgers and company. I'll take the dog here tonight. |
10-24-21 | Eagles +3 v. Raiders | Top | 22-33 | Loss | -120 | 15 h 42 m | Show |
The post Jon Gruden era began on a positive note last week for the Las Vegas Raiders. The Raiders went to Denver and beat the Broncos, 34-24. They also did something they hadn't done all season under Gruden, scored a first quarter touchdown and a TD on their first drive of the game. The Raiders were also a +4 in the turnover game and sacked Teddy Bridgewater five times. Overall it was a very good day for Vegas. They will host the Philadelphia Eagles here today. The Eagles are coming off home loss to the Tampa Bay Bucs, 22-28, covering the 7-point dog line. They are now 2-4 S/U and 3-3 ATS on the season. The Las Vegas offense was ranked first in the NFL after three weeks, now has dropped to 10th overall, 30th in rushing and third in passing. Philadelphia is 20th in offense, 15th rushing and 22nd passing. Both teams possess excellent QB's and potent passing games. The defenses are mid-pack, nothing to brag much about. For me, I'll take the points here today with the Eagles. |
10-23-21 | Oklahoma State +7 v. Iowa State | Top | 21-24 | Win | 100 | 13 h 48 m | Show |
Huge game for both these Big 12 teams if one of them wants to win the conference title. Oklahoma State is 6-0 S/U and 3-0 in conference play. The Pokes have covered their last four games, including last week's win at Texas, 32-24 as a 5.5-point dog. This club has the 19th ranked defense in the FBS and the 81st ranked offense. Iowa State is coming off a win last week at Kansas State, 33-20 as a 6.5-point favorite. They have covered three of their last four games and are 4-2 S/U and 3-3 ATS on the season. Tough game to call here today, but getting a touchdown with a 6-0 team that has a very good defense is enough for me. Play Oklahoma State. |
10-20-21 | Coastal Carolina v. Appalachian State +5.5 | Top | 27-30 | Win | 100 | 9 h 22 m | Show |
App State would like to forget last week, as they were pummeled at UL Lafayette, 13-41. That snapped their three game win streak in which they scored at least 31 points in each game. App State's offense was non-existent last week with just 211 total yards to 455 by the Rajun Cajuns. App State also had four turnovers in that game. The Mountaineers will need to be much better tonight as they take on 6-0 Coastal Carolina. Carolina has scored 49 points or more in 5-games. Carolina has the nation's #2 ranked offense with 554 yards per game. Only Ohio State is better. These teams have split the last four meetings with the home team winning. Should be another shootout here today, but I believe App State is better then they showed last week. Play App State plus the points. |
10-17-21 | Raiders v. Broncos -4 | Top | 34-24 | Loss | -102 | 16 h 39 m | Show |
Both of these teams started the season 3-0, only to lose their last two games. Now one of these teams will drop to 3-3 with three straight losses. It's been a rough week for the Raiders. The Raiders lost at home on Sunday to the Bears, 9-20. Then on Monday their head coach, Jon Gruden stepped down as the coach. Rich Bisaccia will be the interim coach for the rest of the season. It will remain to be seen how this whole series of events effects this Raiders team. Denver lost at Pittsburgh after losing the week before at home to Baltimore, 7-23. The offense has just 26 points in the last two games. I'm going to take the Broncos here today. I want to see what effect Gruden's departure has on the Raiders. Play Denver. |
10-16-21 | Oklahoma State +3.5 v. Texas | Top | 32-24 | Win | 100 | 13 h 2 m | Show |
Not sure if Texas will be able to get that staggering loss to Oklahoma out of its mouth for this week's contest. Texas comes into this game 4-2 overall and 2-1 in the Big 12. Oklahoma had last week off to prepare for this game and comes in 5-0 overall and 2-0 in conference. Ok State has the nation's 85th ranked offense while Texas is 18th. Problem for Texas is the defense, which ranks 107th overall. They will have to deal with an Ok State team that is 19th overall on offense. With Ok State being rested and Texas maybe not in the right frame of mind, I'll take the undefeated Pokes in this one. Play Oklahoma State and look for an outright win. |
10-10-21 | 49ers +5.5 v. Cardinals | Top | 10-17 | Loss | -101 | 15 h 27 m | Show |
NFC West clash here between the 4-0 Arizona Cardinals and the 2-2 SF 49ers. The NFC West looks to be one of the best divisions of football this year. The 49ers look to get back to winning after a loss last week at home to Seattle, 21-28. Rookie QB Trey Lance got extended play after Jimmy Garoppolo was injured with a calf injury. Looks like Lance will get the start here on Sunday. Lance brings that duel threat of running and passing to this offense. The Cardinals are coming off a dominating performance last week at the LA Rams, 37-20. QB Kyler Murray was 24-of-32 for 268 yards and two TD's. Arizona now has the NFL's top offense with 441 yards per game average. This looks to be a great afternoon game. I'm going to take the points here on Sunday as I like Lance at QB for the Niners as he brings a new and fresh dimension to this offense. Take San Francisco. |
10-07-21 | Rams v. Seahawks +2.5 | Top | 26-17 | Loss | -110 | 8 h 33 m | Show |
Seattle Seahawks coming off a road loss last week at Minnesota, 17-30. That makes the Hawks 2-2 S/U and 2-2 ATS on the season. They return home here for Thursday night to face the Rams. The Rams had that big win two weeks ago at home over Tampa Bay, 34-24 and then had a let down last week at home to the Cardinals, 20-37. The Rams were outgained 401-465, had eight fewer plays and three fewer first downs. The biggest difference were in turnovers where the Rams had two and Arizona had none. Seattle's offense not as good as in year's past, they rank just 19th overall and 17th in passing. The Rams are 11th overall and 4th in passing. The Rams defense is loaded with stars, however they haven't played that way as they rank 27th overall. Seattle is even worse, ranking dead last in the NFL in total defense. Neither team looks to be the defensive units they once were. I'll take the points though tonight as it's not often you get the Hawks and points at home. Play Seattle. |
10-03-21 | Bucs -6.5 v. Patriots | Top | 19-17 | Loss | -110 | 20 h 29 m | Show |
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers looks to rebound from their loss at the Rams last week, 24-34. The rushing game couldn't get anything going as they totaled just 35 yards on the ground. Tom Brady had another excellent game with over 400 yards passing (his top this year). Tampa Bay had more yards, more offensive plays and more first downs then the Rams. Yet, they lost by 10 points with 7 points coming late in the 4th quarter. New England also lost week as they lost at home to the Saints, 13-28. Another example of the stats not panning out to the score. The Patriots had 48 more yards, nine more offensive plays and just three fewer first downs than New Orleans. That Pats were also +1 in the turnover ratio. Tampa Bay has the 8th best offense in the NFL (2nd in passing) while New England comes in at 21st. New England has the better defense, ranked 5th overall while Tampa Bay is 27th. This game highlights Tom Brady's return to Foxboro since his Free agent signing with the Bucs. Should be plenty of excitement in the Stadium for this one. For me, Brady is still at the top of his game and I think he will want to send a statement to the Patriots today. Take Tampa Bay. |
10-02-21 | Army -10 v. Ball State | Top | 16-28 | Loss | -110 | 20 h 47 m | Show |
Army comes into today's contest a perfect 4-0 S/U and 2-2 ATS. They are coming off a win over Miami Ohio, 23-10 as a 7.5-point favorite. Can't say the same for Ball State who after winning their opening season game vs Western Illinois, they have since lost three straight games. The Cardinals are also 0-4 ATS on the season and have scored more than 13 points just once and that was the opener. Ball State is ranked 107th defensively in the country while Army is ranked 15th. Army ranks 60th on offense and averages a nation leading 345 yards per game on the ground. Ball State is 117th on offense. Ball State won't have an answer for the Army rushing game here on Saturday. Look for Army to control the game on the ground and win this one going away. Play Army. |
09-27-21 | Eagles +3.5 v. Cowboys | Top | 21-41 | Loss | -120 | 22 h 35 m | Show |
It's already come down to this game to see who is first to take the lead in the AL East. With the NY Giants at 0-3 and Washington at 1-2, the winner of this game between 1-1 teams will take the lead in the division. Philly opened the season with a win over Atlanta, 32-6 followed by a loss at home to San Francisco, 11-17. Dallas opened with a narrow loss to the Bucs, 29-31, followed by a win at home over the Chargers, 20-17. Dallas is 4th in the NFL in total offense with 435 yards while the Eagles are 15th with 381. Philly has the better defense, ranked 4th overall while the Cowboys are 28th defensively. The Cowboys are just 1-7 ATS in their last eight as a favorite. They are also 1-5 ATS their last six vs the NFC East. For me, I'll take the better defensive team here tonight plus the points. Play Philadelphia. |
09-20-21 | Lions v. Packers -11.5 | Top | 17-35 | Win | 100 | 18 h 38 m | Show |
The Green Bay Packers looked horrible last week against the New Orleans Saints. The Packers lost 3-38 and had just 229 totals yards and three turnover. Aaron Rodgers was pulled from the game as many speculated he performed that way on purpose because he is unhappy in Green Bay. The Lions almost pulled the shocker of the week as they trailed the 49ers by 28 points and then scored the games final 21 of 28 points to pull close, but lose 33-41. They had almost as many yards as SF (430 to 442) and they had 27 more offensive plays and a +2 turnover ratio. They played even or better than the Niners in most statistical categories. If you only looked at the stats you would figure they had won the game. Question is, who will show up here in week 2, the same Packer team from Week 1 or last year's No 1 ranked offense? The Lions are only 4-9 ATS in their last 13 road games and 3-7 ATS when the road dog. The Packers usually rebound from losses well, going 16-5 ATS in their last 21 following a ATS loss. I believe Rodgers will be ready to show last week was a fluke and he's ready to return to his old self here against this poor defense of the Lions. I look for the Packers to take out those week 1 frustrations here on the Lions tonight. Play Green Bay. |
09-18-21 | Colorado State v. Toledo -14.5 | Top | 22-6 | Loss | -104 | 16 h 9 m | Show |
Toledo came within one minute last week of shocking the football world with the near upset of Notre Dame in South Bend. It took an Irish TD with just one minute to play to avoid the shocking loss to the Rockets. Today they face a winless Colorado State team. The Rams lost at home last week to Vanderbil, 21-24. Toledo is 1-1 and look to bring a winning record in MAC play next week. Colorado is allowing 33 points per game thus far and 404 yards of offense. That will not bode well today against this very good Toledo team. I'll take Toledo here in what I see as a big blowout. |
09-17-21 | Maryland -7 v. Illinois | Top | 20-17 | Loss | -110 | 8 h 12 m | Show |
Maryland (2-0) takes on Illinois (1-2) from Champaign in this Big 10 matchup here on Friday. The Fighting Illini opened its season against Big 10 Nebraska and upsetting the 7-point Huskers. However, it's been downhill since then, losing to Texas San Antonio and then to Virginia last week. The defense has gotten shredded in those two losses, allowing 1,053 total yards. Won't get any easier against a offensive Maryland team here tonight. Maryland is 2-0 and has won it's first two games by a combined 92-24 score. Maryland is led by Junior QB Taulia Tagovailoa who is leading the Big 10 in completion percentage (76.2) and in passer rating (188.4). Illinois will welcome back QB Brandon Peters who was injured against Nebraska and hasn't played since. Not sure how Illinois will stop this Maryland offense tonight. And, I don't think they have the offense themselves to keep pace in a shootout. Take Maryland. |
09-12-21 | Chargers v. Washington Football Team -1 | Top | 20-16 | Loss | -109 | 16 h 9 m | Show |
The Chargers begin their season all the way across the country here in Washington on Sunday. LA was 7-9 to finish last season as was Washington. Though Washington made the postseason in a terrible NFC East. The Chargers made a change in their head coach, sacking Anthony Lynn and replacing him with Brandon Staley. LA will once again rely on QB Justin Herbert after a fine rookie season in 2020. Washington has one of the best defenses in the league, ranked 4th overall. However, the offense wasn't very good, ranked 25th in scoring offense. Fitzpatrick return at QB for Washington. I personally like betting against a new coach in his first game of the season. The team is still learning the playbook, and with new coaches it will take a bit for the team to come together. Add the excellent Washington defense and I'll take the host here today. Play Washington. |
09-11-21 | San Diego State v. Arizona -1.5 | Top | 38-14 | Loss | -110 | 22 h 19 m | Show |
an Diego State didn't have quite the cakewalk they expected in week 1 against New Mexico State. The Aztecs could only win 28-10 against arguably the worst team in college FBS football. Meanwhile, Arizona played against a very good BYU team last week in Las Vegas. The Wildcats covered the spread but came up short in the outright win, 16-24. San Diego State travels to Tucson here today to face Arizona. The Wildcats look to put an end to their 13-game losing streak here tonight. They had 425 yards of offense vs BYU, but missed a pair of field goals and turned the ball over in the red zone. San Diego State somehow trailed NM State at the half 0-10 and didn't have a single point in the first half. Arizona has won 10 of the 15 games in this series. This should be a good defensive game. The Cats held BYU to under 30 points and the SD St offense isn't near as good. Arizona only a 1 to 2 point favorite here at home. I look for them to finally snap that losing streak. Play Arizona. |
09-03-21 | Michigan State +3.5 v. Northwestern | Top | 38-21 | Win | 100 | 10 h 12 m | Show |
Reason: Conference play starts right away for the Big 10 and today Northwestern hosts Michigan State. Northwester had a fine year last season at 7-2 despite the Covid schedule. They lost in the Big 10 Championship to Ohio State despite leading 10-6 at the half. Meanwhile, Michigan State has something to prove under second year head coach Mel Tucker after finishing last in the Big Ten East with a 2-5 record. Michigan State still is looking for a QB to take over the starting spot vacated by Rocky Lombardi, who transferred to Northern Illinois. Northwestern has had a great defense, but they will be without their coordinator Mike Hankwitz who retired. Michigan State has done well in this series, with the Spartans winning the last two meetings. Both teams have a lot of holes to fill especially for Northwestern that returns only five defensive starters. I look for this game to be very close and with that I'll take the points here today. Play Michigan State. |
09-02-21 | South Florida v. NC State -18.5 | Top | 0-45 | Win | 100 | 18 h 10 m | Show |
Week 0 had a few teams playing last week, but the full schedule gets underway here in week one. South Florida visits Raleigh here tonight to play NC State in both team's opening game of the season. NC State had a nice 8-4 record last year, though they lost to Kentucky in the Gator Bowl. South Florida had a horrid season at 1-8 as Jeff Scott's took over the helm in his first year last season. USF QB Cade Fortin should be familiar with NC State as he transferred from North Carolina where he faced the Wolfpack. NC State QB is Devin Leary, a fourth-year sophomore who started three games last year. This Wolfpack team should be even better then their eight wins last year and that means problems here tonight for South Florida. Take NC State in what should be a Wolfpack blowout. |
01-16-21 | Rams v. Packers -6.5 | Top | 18-32 | Win | 100 | 20 h 45 m | Show |
Divisional Round of the playoffs here on Saturday as the 10-6 LA Rams take on the 13-3 Green Bay Packers from Lambeau field. Always have to check weather when dealing with Green Bay. It's going to be cold, likely below freezing during the game with light showers turning to snow later in the game with light winds. Never easy for West Coast teams to make the trip East, especially a warm weather team like the Rams playing in cold Green Bay. The Rams defense is the best in the league and it will be put to the test against likely the NFL MVP in Aaron Rodgers and the Packers offense here today. The Rams playing with hobbled QB's. Jared Goff had to come back last week even with his surgically repaired thumb to replace injured QB John Wolford. Wolford is out this week so that means Goff again despite not being near 100%. No 1 offense of Green Bay vs No 1 defense of the Rams. The Rams will try and use their excellent corners against these high powered Packer receivers and take away what Rodgers looks for most. I don't believe the Rams will have what it takes on offense to get it done here today. This likely won't be as high scoring as the Packers are used to, but they get it done today. Take Green Bay. |
01-03-21 | Jets +3 v. Patriots | Top | 14-28 | Loss | -110 | 18 h 51 m | Show |
The NY Jets will have the No 2 overall pick in the NFL draft. Today's game will have no bearing on that pick, win or lose. That way they can try and end the season on a winning note. In fact, the Patriots have nothing to play for here either as they are eliminated from the playoffs. The Patriots usually play a lot of backups in a meaningless Week 17 matchup. The Jets can end the season with a three game win streak here today. The Patriots will likely have Jarrett Stidham starting here at QB. The bad news is that the Jets won't land Trevor Lawrence in the draft. This won't likely be a game to watch, but the Jets will want to win it more than the Patriots will. I'll take the field goal with the Jets who likely win outright. Play NY Jets |
01-01-21 | Notre Dame v. Alabama -19.5 | Top | 14-31 | Loss | -109 | 30 h 44 m | Show |
College Football playoffs begin here with No 4 Notre Dame taking on No 1 Alabama. Alabama laying a lot of wood in this game, currently around 19-20 points. This is the Rose Bowl, but not your normal Rose Bowl as it's been moved to Arlington, Texas from Pasadena due to Covid restrictions in California. Alabama makes it's sixth appearance in the NCAA FB playoffs in its seven year history. Alabama is an offensive juggernaut with Mac Jones at QB, Najee Harris at RB and WR DeVonta Smith that give this team a three-headed monster for defenses. The Tide have scored at least 52 points in four of their last five games and only one decided by less than 15 points. The only chance for Notre Dame here is to win the battle in the trenches and keep the ball out of Alabama's hands. If Notre Dame can't get a running game going, this will be a long day for the Irish. After what Clemson did to Notre Dame last time out I don't see how Alabama will be kept in check here today. I look for an Alabama blowout win. |
12-26-20 | 49ers v. Cardinals -4 | Top | 20-12 | Loss | -105 | 103 h 6 m | Show |
Nothing on the line here today for the San Francisco 49ers. They will be playing out the last few weeks of the season. At 5-9 and in 12th place in the NFC playoff race they have been eliminated. Not so though for the Arizona Cardinals who are sitting in that 7th and final playoff spot in the NFC at 8-6. They have two teams above them at 9-5, the Rams and Bucs, with the Bears breathing down their back at 7-7 and the Vikings two back at 6-8. The 49ers have one of the longest injury lists in the NFL. It has been a horrid season for the defending NFC Champions. They don't even have a home field anymore as they play their home games here in Arizona. The 49ers have won just one of their last seven games both S/U and ATS. Additionally, the Cardinals have won and covered five of the last six vs the 49ers. The Cards need the win to hold onto that last playoff spot and the 49ers are just too beat up to contest here today. Arizona is my NFL Game of the Year for 2020. |
12-19-20 | Alabama -17 v. Florida | Top | 52-46 | Loss | -112 | 21 h 35 m | Show |
SEC Championship game from Atlanta, GA here on Saturday has No 1 Alabama taking on No 7 Florida. Alabama looks to keep its perfect record in tact here on a top seed in the NCAA playoffs on New Year's day. Florida lost a shocker last week to LSU at home. LSU has had a horrible season with multiple injuries and COVID tests, but somehow pulled the biggest upset of the season. The Crimson Tide are almost a perfect team, difficult to find any weakness on this club. With QB Mac Jones, RB Najee Harris and WR DaVonta Smith they have three legitimate Heisman candidates. Alabama has won all year and won BIG! They are sending a statement the the NCAA that they are the team to beat this year and I have to agree with that. Even with Florida's excellent QB in Trask, I look for a Alabama blowout here on Saturday. I don't even know if Florida can recover from that LSU loss, let alone do so against the best team in the country. Play Alabama here on Saturday. |

12-18-20 | UAB v. Marshall -4.5 | Top | 22-13 | Loss | -102 | 17 h 15 m | Show |
Conference USA Championship game here on Friday has the 5-3 UAB Blazers vs the 7-1 Marshall Thundering Herd. Marshall hasn't won in more than a month as they enter play here tonight. Marshall had their final game against Charlotte cancelled. Their only loss of the season coming at the hands of Rice where they gained just 245 total yards and QB Wells threw five interceptions. Marshall leads the FBS in points allowed, just 11.4 per game. Marshall has the 2nd best rushing defense, allowing just 73.0 yards per game. This Marshall defense will be a huge task for UAB to overcome here today. UAB hasn't won a game this year in which they have allowed more than 16 points, except their opening game against Central Arkansas. I look for Marshall to rebound from that Rice loss and use it's vaunted defense to shut down UAB. Play Marshall. |
12-13-20 | Saints -7.5 v. Eagles | Top | 21-24 | Loss | -110 | 17 h 33 m | Show |
The New Orleans Saints hold the top playoff spot in the NFC with a 10-2 overall record. Philadelphia is pretty much out of it, even in the NFC East as they are just 3-8-1 on the season. The Saints will play again tomorrow with QB Drew Brees. But that hasn't been a problem with Taysom Hill at the Helm. He's guided them to three straight starting wins. The defense has been great and it should be as it's the tops in the NFL (2nd vs rush and 4th vs pass). That doesn't bode well today as the Eagles will start Jalen Hurts at QB. They have wanted to get Hurts into the mix, but this is more like throwing him to the wolves. Hurts brings a run/pass dynamic to the Eagles, but his passing leaves a lot to be desired. Now he must face the 4th best pass defense. The Saints have gone under in five straight games, mainly because Hill is more a controlled rusher with short passes. Since Hill has bee at the helm, the rushing yards have gone up to 168, 229 and 207 yards in each of their last three games. I like the Saints here today as they completely shut down this Eagles Team. Play New Orleans. |
12-12-20 | USC -3 v. UCLA | Top | 43-38 | Win | 100 | 21 h 31 m | Show |
The annual USC vs UCLA rivalry game will lose some luster this week without the usual full Rose Bowl of rabid fans. USC has just four games this year after beating Washington State 38-13 and improving to 4-0 on the season. UCLA is 3-2 on the season after beating Arizona State, 25-18 on December 5. It's hard to figure who is more interested, but that appears to be USC with their perfect 4-0 record and top 20 ranking. Without the fans I have to be on the USC side in this one. |
11-30-20 | Seahawks -6 v. Eagles | Top | 23-17 | Push | 0 | 21 h 40 m | Show |
If the Playoffs started today the Seahawks would be in and the Eagles out. Philly is only 3-6-1 on the season, but because the NFC East is so bad, they still have a chance. The Giants won today and took over the division lead, but there are still some games left and anything can happen in that crazy division. Seattle coming off a big win over NFC West foe Arizona last week, 28-21. Russell Wilson played a great game, going 23 of 28 with no turnovers. Philly has lost two in a row and now trails both Washington and the Giants in the crazy NFC East. The fans are calling for Jalen Hurts to takeover at QB and that might happen if they lose here tonight. Seattle has the league's third ranked offense and 2nd passing attack. Philly ranks 27th as they are 27th running and 22nd passing. Philly does hold the edge on defense, as they rank 10th overall compared to the Seahawks 32nd ranked defense. Don't see the Eagles offense being able to keep up with Seattle's here on Monday. I'll lay the price on the road with Wilson and the Seahawks. |
11-28-20 | Northwestern -13 v. Michigan State | Top | 20-29 | Loss | -110 | 16 h 35 m | Show |
Northwestern showed just why they are one of the best teams in the Big 10 as they totally shut down Wisconsin last week, 17-7. The Northwestern defense we knew was good, but they were outstanding last week. They Cats have now covered all five games this year as they head to Michigan State today. The Michigan State Spartans were shut out two weeks ago by Indiana, 24-0. The Spartans have scored seven points combined in their last two games. Not good for now having to play the 15th ranked defense in the country. I look for another Northwestern win and possible shutout here on Saturday. Play Northwestern. |
11-27-20 | Notre Dame -5.5 v. North Carolina | Top | 31-17 | Win | 100 | 16 h 0 m | Show |
Top 25 matchup here on Friday has No 2 Notre Dame taking on No 25 North Carolina. This game looks to be the most difficult thus far for the Irish. Yes they played Clemson, but QB Lawrence missed that game with Covid. The Irish are a perfect 8-0 on the season while North Carolina is 6-2 with losses coming to Florida State and Virginia. The Tar Heels are coming off a shootout two weeks ago against Wake Forest, which they won in a come-from-behind fashion, 59-53. It follows that the Tar Heels would have the 4th ranked offense in the country. Notre Dame comes in at 24th. The Irish have a much better defense though, ranked 9th overall compared to the 68th ranked defense of NCU. These teams have met just once in the last five years and that was in 2017 with the Irish winning at Chapel Hill, 33-10. I like the Irish as it appears they are destined for a New Year's day playoff spot. They can' afford to look past any opponent, especially the Tar Heels here today. Play Notre Dame. |
11-23-20 | Rams v. Bucs -3 | Top | 27-24 | Loss | -130 | 150 h 22 m | Show |
Rams beat the Seahawks on Sunday, shutting them out in the 2nd half. However, the win didn't come without a big loss, that being left tackle Andrew Whitworth who tore his MCL and is done for the season. Why is this so important? The Rams play one of the best defenses in the league and a defense that loves to blitz QB's. With Whitworth out, you lose a very good veteran who protects Goff's blindside. That will open up the attack for the Bucs and you can believe they will design an attack just for that here on Monday. Goff does not do well under pressure and he will be under plenty tonight. I'm going to lay the short field goal here in what I see as a Bucs blowout win. |
11-17-20 | Akron v. Kent State -27 | Top | 35-69 | Win | 100 | 8 h 51 m | Show |
Looks like early week is MAC week as MAC play enters its 3rd week, at least for most teams. Some have had Covid issues and games PPD. Tonight Akron travels to play at Kent State. Kent is one of the better teams in the MAC at 2-0 on Season. They opened with a win over Eastern Michigan, 27-23, but failed to cover 5-point line. Then they went to Bowling Green where they cruised to a 62-24 win and cover. Now they host a poor Akron as they should go 3-0 tonight. Akron is 0-2 after losing to Western Michigan 13-58 and then last week at Ohio, 10-24, covering the 26-point line. Akron out gained Ohio last week 434 to 307 yards. It was the three turnovers that hurt the Zips. Kent State rolled-up 667 yards at Bowling Green last week and had 30 more offensive plays. Kent is now 6th in the country in total yards. Kent held Akron to just 3 points last year in this matchup. I'm going to lay the points with a very good Kent team tonight. Play Kent. |
11-15-20 | Texans v. Browns -3.5 | Top | 7-10 | Loss | -110 | 19 h 40 m | Show |
Cleveland had last week off. Good thing too with some Covid concerns and also injuries. Those appear to be solved here today. However, if you remember back to their Nov 1 game vs the Raiders they had high winds and it really shut down the scoring. The Browns had just 223 totals yards and neither team got over 122 yards passing. Well, it's deja vu all over again here today. Winds are expected over 20 mph throughout the game and for me, that means another ground and pound game from both teams. I believe that the experience of having played the wind already gives the Browns an advantage here today. They just have to follow the Raiders game plan from last time and run, run, run the ball. They have the horses to do that here today and keep the ball out of Houston's hands. Take Cleveland. |
11-14-20 | Miami-FL +2.5 v. Virginia Tech | Top | 25-24 | Win | 100 | 26 h 11 m | Show |
No 9 Miami Florida hits the road today for a conference game at Virginia Tech. The Hurricanes are 6-1 on the season and while they likely won't make a CFB Playoff, they are in line for a good bowl game. The Canes lost last year at Virginia Tech, 35-42, but outgained Tech 563-337. It was a five turnover day that did in the Canes. Miami beat North Carolina State last week, 44-141 as a 11-point favorite. The Canes had 620 total yards and no turnovers in the win. Virginia Tech lost at home to a nationally ranked Liberty team, 35-38 as a 16.5 point favorite. Liberty ran 80 plays to just 58 for Tech. Virginia Tech could be without their top RB here today in Khalil Herbert. Herbert is nursing a hamstring injury and is questionable. Herbert has 804 yards on the season with seven TD's. I like Miami here as a small dog. Points likely won't come into play here, so I looking at a Miami straight up win. Play Miami Florida. |
11-11-20 | Central Michigan -7.5 v. Northern Illinois | Top | 40-10 | Win | 100 | 22 h 40 m | Show |
Central Michigan won a shootout last week at home over Ohio, 30-27. The Chippewas gained 427 yards to Ohio's 345 yards. In addition, they have 30 more offensive plays then did the Bobcats. Northern Illinois lost at home last week to Buffalo, 30-49. The Huskies had 29 more offensive plays, but just 40 yards more and yet were still outscored by 19 points thanks in part to a -3 turnover ratio. When these teams met last year that game was also in Nothern Illinois as Central won easily, 48-10 as a small dog. Central Michigan has really owned this NIU team, covering the last five years. I expect that again here tonight. I'm taking the road team in this one. Play Central Michigan. |
11-10-20 | Kent State -19.5 v. Bowling Green | Top | 62-24 | Win | 100 | 19 h 22 m | Show |
The MAC finally got underway last week and Kent State was in a dog fight with Eastern Michigan. Kent pulled out the win and cover, 28-20. Kent had 431 yards of offense to just 302 by Eastern. In addition, they had a very balanced offense with 212 yards on the ground and 219 yards through the air. Bowling Green is one of the worst teams in the nation and it showed last week at Toledo. BG lost 3-38 as a 18-point dog and was almost doubled in yardage, 267-524. In addition, BG turned the ball over three times. Last year's meeting between these teams was not pretty for BG, as they lost at Kent, 20-62 and gave up 750 yards of offense! Kent has covered the last two in this series and that's just wahat I expect here tonight in another Kent rout. Play Kent State. |
11-08-20 | Dolphins v. Cardinals -4.5 | Top | 34-31 | Loss | -110 | 19 h 1 m | Show |
The Tua Tagovailoa era began last week as the rookie made his first start of the season at home against the Rams. If you look at just the final score you would expect a big Miami offensive explosion as they won 28-17. However, it was defensive TD's that made the score and win for the Dolphins. The Rams had 471 yards to just 145 for the Dolphins. Tua had just 90 passing yards and the offense 55 rushing yards. It was the four Rams turnovers that inflated that score. Now they had better find some offense at they travel to Arizona to face the high scoring Cardinals. Arizona has the 2nd ranked offense, 2nd rushing and 14th passing. Miami's defense got all the credit last week, but overall they are just 20th in the league and 26th against the pass. That will be the test this week. I don't believe the Dolphins have much shot against this Cardinals team that is leaps and bounds above them on the offensive sides of the ball. This could be a rough learning day for young Tua. Take the Cardinals. |
11-07-20 | Houston v. Cincinnati -13.5 | Top | 10-38 | Win | 100 | 27 h 33 m | Show |
Cincinnati is flexing its muscles in the AAC conference after dismantling Memphis last week, 49-10 as a 6.5 point favorite. The Bearcats had 513 yards to just 321 by Memphis. That included 242 yards rushing. Cincy improved to 5-0 overall and 3-0 in conference play. Houston comes into today's contest at 2-2 overall and 2-1 in the AAC. Houston will have its hands full this week with a 15th ranked Cincinnati defense and top defense in the AAC. Cincinnati hitting on all cylinders right now and that's what I like. They have their sights set on a New Year's day bowl game and I expect another Bearcats blowout here today. Take Cincinnati. |
11-01-20 | Steelers +4 v. Ravens | Top | 28-24 | Win | 100 | 92 h 9 m | Show |
Two AFC heavyweights square-off here on Sunday as the 6-0 Pittsburgh Steelers take on the 5-1 Baltimore Ravens. The Steelers definitely have Super Bowl thoughts at this point as they are scoring a lot of points and their defense has been great. The Steelers jumped out to a big lead last week at Tennessee and held on for a 27-24 win as a 1-point dog. The Steelers had 20 more plays than the Titans did but had three turnovers to none for Tennessee. The Steelers have the league's top rated overall defense and are 2nd against the rush and 6th against the pass. they also have the most QB sacks in the league. The Ravens had last week off. The Ravens have the 13th ranked defense and are 2nd in QB sacks. The offense has the league's top ranked rushing attack (164 yards per game) but overall is just 27th because of a 31st ranked passing attack. Now they face the leagues top ranked defense. The Ravens are laying points here on Sunday at last look about 3 1/2 to 4 points. I'll take the points with the best defense in the league and a pretty good offense too. Play Pittsburgh. |
10-25-20 | Seahawks -3 v. Cardinals | Top | 34-37 | Loss | -125 | 19 h 21 m | Show |
The Seattle Seahawks had last week off to prepare for today's game at Arizona. The Seahawks are one of three remaining unbeaten teams in the NFL with a 5-0 record. Seattle look beaten in their game before the break, losing to the Vikings at the half, 0-13. But another big Russell Wilson comeback resulted in another close Seattle win, 27-26. Meanwhile, Arizona is 4-2 and coming off a dominating performance at Dallas last Monday night, 38-10. The only bad thing here is that while the Seahawks had last week off, the Cards are playing on the short week. This should be the Wilson vs Murray showcase, but I'm giving it to the veteran to school the youngster. Play Seattle. |
10-24-20 | Alabama -21.5 v. Tennessee | Top | 48-17 | Win | 100 | 15 h 23 m | Show |
Tennessee was manhandled last week on their home turf by Kentucky, 7-34. That was the second loss in a row for the Vols. Meanwhile, Alabama came off a huge win last week over Georgia, 41-24. Even with the loss of QB Tua Tagovailoa and WR Henry Ruggs, the offense has been clicking under QB Mac Jones. Jones ranks first nationally in QB rating and completed 78.3% of his passes with 12 TD's and just two INT's. Tennessee will need better production from its QB's. Jarrett Guarantano has started all four games, but tossed two pick-six INT's last week vs Kentucky. Don't expect a letdown here today by the Tide, Saban always has his teams prepared. Tide will roll here today. Play Alabama. |
10-18-20 | Falcons v. Vikings -4 | Top | 40-23 | Loss | -109 | 14 h 18 m | Show |
The 0-5 Atlanta Falcons still looking for that first win of the season as they travel to the 1-4 Vikings here on Sunday. The Vikings came up short last week at Seattle, losing 26-27. The Vikings held a 13-0 lead at half but couldn't hold on for the win. The Vikings will be without star running back Dalvin Cook here today as he had to leave last week's game with a groin injury. The Falcons lost last week to the Panthers, 16-23. Dan Quinn was fired after that loss as was GM Thomas Dimitroff. I don't think a coaching change will make much difference here today for the Falcons. They just find ways to lose games these days. Play Minnesota. |
10-17-20 | Texas A&M -4.5 v. Mississippi State | Top | 28-14 | Win | 100 | 44 h 39 m | Show |
No 11 Texas A&M is 2-1 on the season and has been a scoring machine through the air. Mike Leach's Mississippi State Bulldogs are just 1-2 and under performed thus far this season. The Aggies had a big come-from-behind last week for one of their biggest victories when they defeated Florida, 41-38. The Aggies trailed 17-28 in the third quarter. The Bulldogs have to curtail their turnovers if they hope to have a chance here today. Costello threw four Interceptions against Kentucky. His backup, Rogers, came in and threw two more. Arkansas showed how to beat MSU and I believe Leach will take a page out of that playbook this week. I like A&M laying less than a TD here on the road today. Play Texas A&M. |
10-14-20 | Coastal Carolina +7.5 v. UL-Lafayette | Top | 30-27 | Win | 100 | 8 h 47 m | Show |
A pair of undefeated college football teams meet here on Wednesday night as Louisiana Ragin Cajuns take on the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers in a Sun Belt conference matchup. Coastal opened the season with a win at Kansas followed by wins over Campbell and then last week against Arkansas State, 52-32. Louisiana was a program best 11-3 in 2019 and have won back-to-back Sun Best West divisions. Coastal has the conference's best offense so far this season, averaging 44.3 ppg and 6.9 yards per play. The Louisiana defense is holding teams to 5.2 yards per play. Louisiana is led by their offensive line and running attack, which Coastal will have to contend with tonight. Elijah Mitchell leads the team with 210 rushing yards and that is even after missing the Georgia Southern game. Big game for both teams as Coastal wants to prove they can play with Louisiana. Meanwhile, Louisiana can likely crack the top 25 with a good showing here tonight. Getting 7.5 points looks good with such a good offensive team as Carolina is tonight. Play Coastal Carolina. |
10-13-20 | Bills -3 v. Titans | Top | 16-42 | Loss | -120 | 7 h 48 m | Show |
Two undefeated teams meet here on Tuesday as the 3-0 Tennessee Titans host the 4-0 Buffalo Bills. This game moved from Sunday due to covid issues can be played tonight because no other players tested positive. Covid has played a big part in this year's games with no preseason and teams limited in practice. We saw a rash of early injuries that may or may not be directly attributable to the Covid delays. But, they look like they will play this game. The Titans had 20 players and staff infected and they had their facilities shut down, so they may be more effected then the Bills tonight. The Titans could still be without many players for tonight that are currently on the Reserve/Covid-19 list, with most notable being WR Corey Davis, WR Adam Humphries, DE Jeffrey Simmons and DL DaQuan Jones. Bills QB Josh Allen is having an MVP season already with 12 TD's and 70% completion rate. This year he has added talent around him including WR Stephan Diggs. Tough to get behind the Titans here with all their Covid issues. Take Buffalo |
10-12-20 | Chargers v. Saints -6.5 | Top | 27-30 | Loss | -107 | 10 h 42 m | Show |
It's the old dog vs the rookie here tonight as future Hall of Famer Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints take on rookie Justin Herbert and the LA Chargers. Brees started his career with the Chargers and this looks to be his final start against his old team. The Chargers led the Bucs last week 24-7 before collapsing by allowing 24 second half points to Tampa Bay. The Saints climbed back to .500 with a win over the Lions last week. LA will be without Austin Ekeler who has a hamstring issue. He was the Chargers leading rusher this season. Looks like this will put more stress on Herbert's shoulders since the Saints do not allow a lot of yards on the ground. Herbert has thrown for 330 and 290 yards in his two starts. This is another long road trip for the Chargers. Meanwhile the Saints get next week off. I look for the Saints and Brees to school the rookie here tonight. Take The New Orleans Saints. |
10-11-20 | Eagles v. Steelers -7 | Top | 29-38 | Win | 100 | 19 h 0 m | Show |
Pennsylvania battle here as the Steelers host their intrastate rivals, Philly. This week there will be a limited number of fans allowed at the game with the cap coming in at 5,500. The Pittsburgh Steelers can go 4-0 with a win this week. The Eagles are coming off their first win of the season last week, an upset win at San Francisco. The Steelers had the week off after the Titans had a Covid outbreak. Philly QB Carson Wentz has already tossed 7 INT's this season and has come under fire. The Philly defense hasn't been very good as they have allowed opposing QB's to throw 7 touchdowns while picking off just two passes. They have also allowed 243 yards per game through the air and opposing passers a rating of 100. Yes, the Eagles got a big win last week at the 49ers. However, that came against a backup QB. Now they have to face Big Ben. Don't expect the Eagles to come away with bragging rights today. I look for a Steelers win. Play Pittsburgh. |
10-10-20 | Florida -5 v. Texas A&M | Top | 38-41 | Loss | -105 | 14 h 34 m | Show |
ESPN game here as Florida takes on Texas A&M. The Florida Gators are 2-0 on the season with A&M Aggies coming in a 1-1. The Aggies lost last week to Alabama, 24-52. Won't get any easier this week as they play an explosive Florida team. The offense is averaging 44.5 ppg so far and 7.8 yards per play. TE Kyle Pitts will pose a huge problem for A&M here. Pitts has has been a TD machine thus far and he's big and fast and it looks like the Aggies don't have an answer to covering him here today. The A&M secondary was destroyed last week by Alabama for 435 yards and four TD's. I don't see that getting any easier today against an equally explosive Florida offense. Take Florida in a blowout. |
10-08-20 | Bucs -3.5 v. Bears | Top | 19-20 | Loss | -100 | 23 h 6 m | Show |
A pair of 3-1 teams meet here on Thursday as the Tampa Bay Bucs take on the Chicago Bears from Soldier field. The Bucs lost their opener under new QB Tom Brady at New Orleans, but now go for their fourth straight win. Brady has completed 65.2% of his passes for 1122 yards and 11 TD's. Brady has a good ground game behind him, averaging 97.8 yards per game with Ronald Jones II and Leonard Fortnette. The Bears lost last Sunday at home to the Colts. The offense could never really get going until a last, meaningless 4th quarter drive. Nick Foles took over in game three but struggled in game four. The Bears also have a excellent ground game, averaging 110.5 yards per game behind David Montgomery. I'm not sold on this Bears team which has been very inconsistent this year. The Bucs are playing well so I will take them here in this Thursday night game. Play Tampa Bay. |
10-05-20 | Falcons v. Packers -6.5 | Top | 16-30 | Win | 100 | 19 h 5 m | Show |
I don't know what youth pill Packers' QB Aaron Rodgers has taken, but can we all have some. Rodgers has looked like his old self after a down season in 2019. Rodgers and the Packers are undefeated at 3-0. The Falcons, well they have blown big leads this year and are 0-3 after losing to the Bears last week, 26-30. That loss on the heals of a shocking loss to the Cowboys in week 2 where they blew a 15-point fourth quarter lead. It must seem like Deja Vu for the Falcons after something similar happened in their Super Bowl loss to the Patriots in Super Bowl LI. HC Dan Quinn is in desperate need of a win or face a 0-4 start. The injury plagued Falcons will have to face the NFL best offense that averages 6.9 yards per play and 40.7 ppg. The Falcons do possess a potent passing attack with Matt Ryan. But I don't see this defense stopping this Packers juggernaut of an offense. Take the Packers. |
10-04-20 | Colts v. Bears +3 | Top | 19-11 | Loss | -113 | 19 h 30 m | Show |
The Colts used three INT's last week to defeat the Jets, 36-7 and improve to 2-1 on the season. RB Jonathon Taylor has been great for the Colts, with 261 scrimmage yards this season. After losing their opening game at Jacksonville, the Colts have won their next two games by a combined 64-18. The Bears had a miraculous comeback at Atlanta last week with Nick Foles coming off the bench to toss three, fourth quarter touchdowns. That made the Bears 3-0 on the season. Foles was 16-for-29 for 188 and three TD's in their win last week. Colts QB Phillip Rivers showing he still has what it takes. Rivers leads the NFL in completion rate, 78.3%. This should be an excellent matchup with two hot teams. I'm going to take the points here at home with the undefeated Bears. |
10-03-20 | Arkansas State v. Coastal Carolina +3 | Top | 23-52 | Win | 105 | 14 h 15 m | Show |
Two teams that will likely contend for the Sun Belt title meet today. Coastal Carolina is 2-0 to start the season. The Chanticleers have a solid QB in McCall. McCall had over 200 yards in their win over Kansas with five Td's. Arkansas State has been rotating QB's with Logan Bonner and Layne Hatcher. Starting RB Marcel Murray returns today after missing both of the first two games. A bit surprised that the Chanticleers getting points at home in this one. For me, I'll take this very good Coastal Carolina plus the points and won't be surprised by a straight up win. |
09-28-20 | Chiefs +3.5 v. Ravens | Top | 34-20 | Win | 100 | 21 h 18 m | Show |
This looks to be the marquee matchup of the week as the defending NFL Champion Kansas City Chiefs take on the 2-0 Baltimore Ravens. The Chiefs had to come-from-behind last week against the Chargers with a 14-3 fourth quarter to win in OT, 23-20, and start their season 2-0. Meanwhile, the Ravens rushed for 230 yards in their win over the Houston Texans last week, 33-16. It was the Ravens 15th game with at least 200 yards rushing since 2018. The Chiefs are 9-1-1 ATS in their last 11 games and 9-1-1 ATS in their last 11 road games as dog. Moreover, they are 12-5-1 ATS in their last 18 road games. The Ravens are 5-2 ATS in their last seven home games but just 4-11 ATS in their last 15 as a home favorite. The Chiefs are 6-3 S/U in their last nine vs the Ravens and 4-1 in Baltimore. This promises to be an exciting game, but for me I can't pass on a field goalwith this Chiefs club. Take Kansas City. |
09-27-20 | Raiders v. Patriots -6.5 | Top | 20-36 | Win | 100 | 14 h 1 m | Show |
Las Vegas Raiders flying high after starting the season 2-0, including that emotional Monday Night win over the Saints in their new Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. The Raiders then got a huge send off to New England from the fans and a police escort. Now reality hits though as they had to fly the long West to East distance to Foxboro. Never easy for the West teams to go East, but this one is going to be tough. They have lost their high draft rookie in WR Ruggs with a few nagging injuries. Now, their two best players, TE Waller and RB Jacobs are both hurting and questionable for this game. The Patriots came literally within inches of beating the Seahawks last week on the game's last play. QB Cam Newtown got stopped short and that's why the club is 1-1 now and not 2-0 as they could easily be. This is going to be an emotional letdown game for the Raiders and if they are missing those three players or they are hurting, this could be a long day for the Raiders. My top play today is on the Patriots as they bring the Raiders back down to earth. |

09-21-20 | Saints v. Raiders +6 | Top | 24-34 | Win | 100 | 21 h 41 m | Show |
The Raiders begin their era in Las Vegas inside their brand new Allegiant stadium. The Raiders won a high scoring affair last week at Carolina, while the New Orleans Saints upended the Tom Brady led Tampa Bay Bucs. QB Drew Brees will be without his favorite target though as WR Michael Thomas is out indefinitely with a ankle injury. Even though there won't be a stadium full of Vegas fans here on Monday, it will still be an exciting beginning for the city and the Raiders. For me this is too many points to lay the Raiders. I won't be surprised by a straight-up Raiders win here on Monday, but I'll gladly take the points. Play LV Raiders. |

09-19-20 | Louisiana Tech v. Southern Miss -5 | Top | 31-30 | Loss | -115 | 28 h 47 m | Show |
The La Tech Bulldogs had to miss their opening game of the season because of Covid, so today will be their opener. Tech lost their third Conference USA title last year in a tie breaker to UAB. Problem is they had a lot of seniors on that team from last year and this year return few starters. Southern Miss looks to rebound from last week's poor showing against South Alabama, losing by 11 as a big favorite. Can't really fault the Golden Eagles after all the craziness of this year and surreal experience of playing in empty stadiums at home in Hattiesburg. Now with game done, I expect a much better effort this week out of the Golden Eagles. With La Tech playing its first game here this week I look for some rust as Southern Miss had last week. I'm going to lay the points here with the host and expect to see a different Southern Miss club as I toss out last week's effort. Play Southern Miss. |
09-14-20 | Titans v. Broncos +3 | Top | 16-14 | Win | 100 | 24 h 45 m | Show |
The Denver Broncos host the Tennessee Titans in the late Monday Night matchup. The Broncos haven't even played a game yet and are already having to deal with big injuries. Gone is Von Miller who will be lost for three months or more. Now Courtland Sutton is dealing with a sprained AC joint. Good news is that the Broncos have historically been a great team to bet on in their home opener. Denver is 22-3 S/U in their last 25 home openers and tonight they are a slight dog which makes that number come into play. Even without fans, the Broncos are one team that still carries a home field advantage into this game and that's the mile high altitude. The Titans came oh so close to a Super Bowl trip last year, losing in the AFC Championship game to the Chiefs. The Titans use their dominating rushing attack against their opponents. For me, the Broncos will do all they can to avoid that 0-4 start they had last year. That coupled with their great opening home record and the altitude will put me on the Broncos in this one. |
09-13-20 | Dolphins +7.5 v. Patriots | Top | 11-21 | Loss | -130 | 14 h 38 m | Show |
NFL week 1 starts with a divisional game between the Dolphins and Patriots. Brian Flores spend 15 years in the Patriots organization and now returns as the head coach of the Dolphins. The Dolphins have won five of their last season openers. This will be a different look Patriots team as Tom Brady is gone at QB. Cam Newton takes over the helm at New England. The Dolphins know they can beat the Pats as they did at the end of the 2019 season. I'm taking the points here with the Dolphins in week one. |
01-05-20 | Seahawks -1.5 v. Eagles | Top | 17-9 | Win | 100 | 149 h 37 m | Show |
To say that football can be a game of inches has never been more true than the Seattle Seahawks game with San Francisco in week 17. The Seahawks win that game and they get a bye this week and home games the rest of the playoffs. Lose and they hit the road this week for a Wildcard game. Well, with just seconds left, the Seahawks missed scoring a touchdown literally by inches. The Seahawks had first and goal at the 1-yard line with just a few seconds left and in comes Marshawn Lynch. But that would not be as the Hawks committed a cardinal sin and let the clock run out for a 5-yard penalty. Now it's 1st and goal at the 6-yard line with time for just one play. Wilson completed the pass to Hollister, but he was stopped just inches from the goal line and the 49ers win and clinch home field in the playoffs. Whew! You would think that would deflate the Seahawks. But I don't believe that. The Eagles won the NFC East with their win in week 17 over the Giants. Seattle will be No 5 seed with an 11-5 record but must travel to Philly this week. The Seahawks are a 1 1/2 point favorite here next Sunday. This is a rematch of their week 12 matchup in Philly where the Eagles were a 3-point favorite. The Seahawks won that previous meeting, 17-9. The Eagles have never beaten Russell Wilson, so they have their work cut out for them here today. The Eagles have won four straight to close the season and the Seahawks have lost two straight. For me, the Seahawks have had to play in the tough NFC West, while the Eagles played in the weakest division in football, the NFC East. The Seahawks, in my opinion, are the far better team and with this small line I look for them to sweep the Eagles this year. I love this matchup and will make it my WildCard Game of the Year. Take Seattle. |
12-29-19 | Titans -6 v. Texans | Top | 35-14 | Win | 100 | 41 h 44 m | Show |
These two AFC South foes close out the regular season here today. Tennessee has their playoff hopes on the line today. Good news for the Titans is that Houston QB Deshaun Watson is questionable with a back injury. Considering that Watson likely will miss this game, that will help the Titans immensely here. The Titans need this game and the Texans don't. Get on this one early, play the Titans. |
12-21-19 | Bills +7 v. Patriots | Top | 17-24 | Push | 0 | 15 h 34 m | Show |
The Buffalo Bills moved to within one game of the New England Patriots with a win last week over the Pittsburgh Steelers, 17-10. It was the Bills fourth spread win in their last five games. The Patriots improved to 11-3 with their win last week over Cincinnati, 34-13. It was the first spread win for the Pats in their last four games and five of the last six. The Pats offense has been stagnant, scoring 24 or fewer points in five of their last six games. Both of these teams have excellent defenses. Buffalo ranks 3rd overall and New England ranks 1st in the NFL. I think nearly a TD is too many points for a good defense like the Bills. Plus the Pats just not scoring like they were. I'm taking the Bills. |
12-15-19 | Seahawks -6 v. Panthers | Top | 30-24 | Push | 0 | 50 h 27 m | Show |
The Seahawks NFC West division hopes were dealt a blow last week as they lost to the Rams in a key contest. The Hawks dropped to 10-3, now a game back of the 49ers. The Rams are just two games back of the Hawks at 8-5 and hold that head-to-head advantage. The Hawks have Carolina this week, at home vs Arizona next week and then finish with a big game at home vs the 49ers in the final week. Seattle looks to bounce back here at Carolina this week. The Panthers got beat bad last week at Atlanta, 20-40. It was the team's fifth straight loss. Carolina allowed 461 yards and turned the ball over four times in their loss at Atlanta. The Panthers just not a good team at this point and Seattle has a lot on the line. Take Seattle. |
12-07-19 | Wisconsin v. Ohio State -15.5 | Top | 21-34 | Loss | -107 | 34 h 54 m | Show |
Big 10 Championship from Indianapolis, IN has Wisconsin taking on the nation's top ranked team in Ohio State. Wisconsin is coming off a win over Minnesota last week, 38-17. It was the team's fourth win since they lost to these Buckeyes back on October 26th, 7-38. The Wisconsin offense is ranked 35th in the country and is predominantly a running team, averaging 244 yards per game. The defense comes in ranked 6th in the country. They will have their work cut out for them today against the 5th ranked offense of Ohio State. Ohio State also has the nation's top ranked defense, holding rushing teams to just 91 yards on the ground. I'm looking for a repeat of the first meeting where Ohio State dominated. I'm having no problem laying the points here with the Buckeys who have covered three of the last four in this series. Play Ohio State. |
11-29-19 | Cincinnati v. Memphis -11 | Top | 24-34 | Loss | -110 | 15 h 47 m | Show |
We could be seeing a preview of the AAC Championship game here on Friday as Memphis plays Cincinnati. A Memphis win here on Friday means that Cincinnati would have to stay in town and play the AAC Championship next week. A Cincinnati win means they get to host the AAC Championship and that would either be against Navy or these Memphis Tigers. Memphis has scored at least 42 points in each of its last five games, including last week's win over South Florida, 49-10. Cincinnati is more a of the defensive team, holding each of its last three opponents to 17 points or fewer. This looks to be a great matchup on Friday, but more at state here for Memphis. I will take the Tigers in this one. Play Memphis. |
11-25-19 | Ravens -3 v. Rams | Top | 45-6 | Win | 100 | 22 h 27 m | Show |
Baltimore has scored 90 points the last two games, 49-13 over Cincinnati and then last week over Houston, 41-7. The Ravens have covered four straight games and their offense has at least 30 points in each of those games. The Ravens now have the league's second best offense at 445 yards per game. The Ravens are 1st in rushing yards per game in the league with 204 per game. The Rams offense has dropped to 13th with Todd Gurley and Jared Goff both under-performing this year. The Ravens are about a 3-point road favorite here today. The Ravens offense has been hitting on all cylinders. Can't say the same about the Rams. Ever since Goff signed that big contract he's performed well below his last two seasons. The Rams have 29 total points the last two weeks, though they did win at home over Chicago last week, 17-7. The Rams offense continues to drop in the rankings and I believe they will have issues keeping up with the Ravens potent attack here tonight. I'm taking the Ravens and laying the field goal. |
11-24-19 | Bucs v. Falcons -3.5 | Top | 35-22 | Loss | -109 | 25 h 33 m | Show |
All of a sudden the Atlanta Falcons look like a real NFL team. After a horrible season that saw the club go 1-7 S/U and ATS their first eight games, the team has won back to back games against New Orleans and Carolina. What's even more impressive is that they got both those wins on the road and held the Saints to just nine points and the Panthers to three points. Now they return home where they get another very winable contest against Tampa Bay. The Bucs lost last week to the Saints, 17-34. It was the sixth straight game they have failed to cover the season and the eight straight game they have gone over the total. Tampa Bay's offense is ranked 8th in the league but their defense is ranked 23rd. Atlanta has improved to 10th in the league in offense and 21st in defense. Atlanta is laying 3 1/2 or 4 here today at home. The way the Falcons are playing, I have no problem laying those points. Play Atlanta. |
11-23-19 | San Diego State +3 v. Hawaii | Top | 11-14 | Push | 0 | 32 h 21 m | Show |
The late game on the college slate for Saturday has 8-2 San Diego State playing at 7-4 Hawaii. Both these clubs will be playing in Bowl games. But I'm a bit surprised to see the very good defensive San Diego State team getting 2 to 3 points in this contest. Hawaii is a very good offensive team, ranked 10th in the country in overall offense. However, they are facing the 8th ranked defense in the country in the Aztecs. This really comes down to just that, can San Diego State contain the Hawaii offense? If they can, they get the win and cover. San Diego State is not a team built to outscore their opponents. I do think a great defense beats great offenses. So I'm taking the dog here on Saturday night. Play San Diego State. |
11-16-19 | Georgia -3 v. Auburn | Top | 21-14 | Win | 100 | 38 h 32 m | Show |
Huge game here between ranked teams as No 5 and 8-1 Georgia takes on No 13 and 7-2 Auburn. Georgia cruised to an easy win last week at home over Missouri, 27-0. It was the teams 2nd cover in a row, as improved to 5-4 ATS on the season. This is really Georgia's final tough game. They finish with a home game against Texas A&M and then close on the road at Georgia Tech. They have an outside shot at the Final four, but either way will be in a top Bowl game. Auburn followed their 20-23 loss two weeks ago to LSU with a win last week at home over Ole Miss, 20-14. A little concerning is the offense that has now scored 20 or fewer points in three of the last four games. Two tough games left for the Tigers as they host Georgia today and then Alabama to close the year. Georgia laying a field goal or less is just too much to pass on such a quality club. Play Georgia. |
11-02-19 | Georgia v. Florida +6.5 | Top | 24-17 | Loss | -109 | 28 h 7 m | Show |
It's a big SEC Matchup here on Saturday as No 6 Florida takes on No 8 Georgia from Jacksonville in the World's Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party. The winner of this game should become the SEC East champion, which will mean an SEC Championship showdown with either Alabama or LSU for the conference championship. To the loser, that means elimination from the top 4 playoff picture. The Gators will rely on pressuring the Georgia QB as they lead the SEC in sacks with 29. They will go up against a Georgia offensive line that has allowed just four sack all season. Georgia is just 3-4 ATS on the season and has failed to cover its last two games. Florida started the season 0-2-1 ATS and has since gone 3-1 ATS. Last year Georgia won this matchup, 36-17 as a 6.5-point dog, outgaining the Gators, 423-275 yards. Georgia has covered the last two seasons with Florida taking the previous three. This should be a great matchup, best of the day in fact. I like the points here with a Florida team I expect to win outright. Play Florida. |
10-26-19 | San Diego State -13 v. UNLV | Top | 20-17 | Loss | -110 | 51 h 14 m | Show |
The San Diego State Aztecs look to be the best team in this Mountain West Conference. The Aztecs are 6-1 S/U and 5-2 ATS on the season. The Aztecs have covered three straight games now, mainly because of their defense. SDG State's defense now ranked 8th in the nation in total defense. The clubs only loss came three weeks ago at home to Utah State where they lost to the Aggies, 17-23. Meanwhile, UNLV has a 2-5 S/U on the season and 3-4 ATS. The Rebels do not have a good defense, giving up 30 or more points in four of their six games. UNLV's defense ranked a poor 106th in the nation. UNLV has three of their five remaining games at home, so they do have an outside shot at a record that will make them bowl eligible. However, I don't feel this club will attain that after they lose this week to the Aztecs. Take San Diego State this week. |
10-12-19 | Memphis v. Temple +5.5 | Top | 28-30 | Win | 100 | 38 h 51 m | Show |
Two very good teams meet in Philadelphia today as Temple hosts Memphis. Memphis is 5-0 on the season S/U and 4-1 ATS. This will be the Tigers first real test of the season after wins over LA Monroe, Southern, South Alabama, Navy and Ole Miss. Their biggest test came at home vs Ole Miss where they just got the win, 15-10. Temple plays an upbeat offense that can produce points. They should have got the cover last time vs East Carolina, but poor coaching with the clock at the end of the game gave E.Carolina the back-end cover. Still, this Temple team is tough at hoe where they beat Georgia Tech 24-2, Maryland 20-17 and Canisius 56-12. Temple has a solid defense, ranked 20th in the country. They also have an excellent red-zone efficiency rating of 46.6%, well below the national average. Memphis is ranked 36th in the nation defensively, but has a 74.7% red-zone efficiency. Both teams are also in the top 43 in offense yardage. Not sure why Memphis is this big a favorite as I like Temple to win this game outright. Play Temple. |
10-06-19 | Ravens v. Steelers +3.5 | Top | 26-23 | Win | 100 | 120 h 50 m | Show |
I really learned something last week, that this Baltimore Ravens team is a fraud. Everyone watched in week one as they demolished an overmatched and winless Miami Dolphins team. Then in week 2 we saw that effort get tougher as the winless Arizona Cardinals covered the 13 point dog line and almost won the game outright, 17-23. Then in week 4 when the real competition started, they lost at Kansas City, 28-33 failing to cover the 4-point dog line and then got killed at home last week by the Cleveland Browns, 25-40. This team is not nearly as good as they are now getting credit for. Meanwhile, the Steelers defense and offense both looked very good last Monday night for the win over the Bengals, 27-3. They have now covered two-straight games and now that Mason Rudolph is getting more action from the coach, he's looking like a real NFL quarterback. Let's throw out stats in this one because the Ravens are still inflated by that Miami game. Instead, lets look at who's real and who's a fraud. The Ravens are a fraud and should not be favored at Pittsburgh here in week 5. I personally will have my biggest bet of the NFL season so far on this game. Good luck and GO Steelers! |
09-28-19 | Georgia Tech v. Temple -8 | Top | 2-24 | Win | 100 | 25 h 15 m | Show |
Temple got upset last week at Buffalo, 22-38 as a 14-point favorite. The Owls might have had letdown after beating ranked Maryland the week before. This for a team that ranks 33rd in the country offensively with 470 yards per game. Meanwhile Georgia tech still looking for its first cover of the season after a 0-3 start. Tech's defense isn't the best, ranked 86th in the nation while the offense ranks a dismal 126th in the country with just 284 yards per game. Tech had last week off to stew over its loss to The Citadel, losing 24-27 as a 27-point favorite. GT managed just 118 yards passing in the lass and allowed 320 yards rushing. Temple may have lost to Buffalo last week, but I believe that was in part due to a letdown. This Temple club returns home where they will demolish this Georgia Tech team. Play Temple. |
09-22-19 | Dolphins v. Cowboys -21 | Top | 6-31 | Win | 100 | 88 h 4 m | Show |
The Miami Dolphins look like a team that has no desire to compete. The Dolphins have been blown out in both games, losing in the opener to the Ravens, 10-59 and then last week to the Patriots, 0-43. The offense has been horrendous, totaling 63 rushing yards combined for both games. The Passing game has 179 and 142 yards. As for defense, it's been shredded by the Ravens and Patriots. Won't get any easier today as the Cowboys and Ezekiel Elliot should just run all over this Miami team. Dallas has won and covered both games thus far, scoring 35 against the Giants and last week beating the Redskins, 31-21. This is one of the biggest lines we've seen in the NFL in ages and realistically, it should be higher. That being said, if the Cowboys want to cover this game they will. The Dolphins likely won't score again this week. I'm going to take a chance and lay the big number with Dallas |
09-08-19 | Falcons v. Vikings -4 | Top | 12-28 | Win | 100 | 395 h 25 m | Show |
Arizona's offense not producing much in the preseason with just 200 yards average per game thus far. That's bodes bad for them here today against a Minnesota team that is 19-4 in preseason under HC Mike Zimmer. Zimmer is 5-0 with the Vikings in week 3 of the NFL preseason. That tells me that the Vikes take this dress rehearsal game serious. I'm looking at a big mismatch here on Saturday with the Vikes holding this Arizona team to low yards and score. I'm making a big play here on Minnesota. This will be my Preseason Game of the Year. Take Minnesota. |
