Rays have been held in check so far, but Nolasco's road BAA of .283 points to Tampa getting some opportunities. He also has a career 6+ ERA vs Tampa. Rolling out a BEST BET tonight with the ASTROS and going for the RUN LINE Money payday. You can lay the -130 if you want. I see Verlander tweets out that the Tigers just arrived in Houston at 6am. I normally like fading the Sunday night team the next day. Especially when on the road. And doubly when I see someone on their team say they get in at daybreak. Astros should be able to muster some runs tonight. I know Fulmer has nice numbers, but eventually that Detroit dumpster-fire bullpen makes an appearance. Let's go Stros! 5* Best Bet HOUSTON ASTROS

Taking the RAYS on the RUN LINE early. You can play the -130 if you don't like extra cash in your pocket. Real simple for me. 1 - How many of you hear this in your heads..No way the Yankees get swept! - 2 - fade CC. So what he is off a good start. And yes, his road ERA is 3.45 as opposed to 7.41 at home. - Finally.. Archer at home. 2-0 this year 2.94 ERA in 5 starts. Last year in 16 starts he had a 2.65 ERA. Granted, he went 3-10. But the Rays have been clubbing the ball lately. We add in Archer off the worse start for him on the year, and I expect bit things this afternoon. 4* RL Money TAMPA BAY RAYS

Yet, they are favored. Brew Crew winners in 8 of 10, Padres have dropped 11 of 14. What can possibly go wrong for us? Well Davies has yet to reach the 6th inning of any start this year. He has a 5.80 ERA though has pitched better on the road 4.02, than at home 6.93. Cosart has a .96 in 2 career starts vs Milwaukee for whatever that is worth. 4* Run Line SAN DIEGO PADRES

Jays are surging after a poor start. 5 in a row, 7 of 8, 8 of 10 - and here comes the league's worse team, 13 win Atlanta who is on a 3-7 run. This is it for Colon. There are just some pitchers I pretty much auto-fade. And Big Sexy has moved to the top of the list. His 0-5 8.13 ERA on the road helps the cause. 27.2 innings 38 Hits 25 Earned Runs! Teams raking .330 against him! I know Bolsinger is not really a household name. And that Toronto really isn't knocking the cover off the ball. Look at this line. Leake has pitched to the top ERA in the league. Teheran has been hit hard in 2 of his last 3 starts. So I expect a big bounce-back from the youngster. And yet, we have another short line. The over having gone 17-3 the last 20 is the only thing that kept from thinking under with these two on the hill. 4* RL Money ATLANTA BRAVES

Rangers to me are in a tough spot. They just lost Hamels. Yu is up for a contract. Beltre isn't getting younger. I can see a trade off in the future off of this slow start. On the flip side we have the Astros who seem to be clicking here the early going. A nice mix of young and old, in the lineup, and on the hill for them. I am not a fan of backing guys in their first starts off the DL. Griffin is back from an ankle problem. He had pitched well before going down. Musgrave is what he is right now. Well, Ian Kennedy has pitched as if it's 2011 again. His first outing, vs Minny, has been his worse performance on the year. I expect him, and his teammates to exact some revenge tonight. Normally, fading teams on losing streaks, especially when favored would be an auto-play for me. Just something tells me that Kyle Gibson, is just not up to task. He couldn't get through 3 innings his last start. He is going to give up 3, 4 runs over 5 innings. Walk a couple, strike out a couple, give up a HR. Looking to last year, he had a road ERA of 4.92. A 1.83 ERA through 3 starts including 21Ks and just 3 walks in nearly 20 innings. .86 WHIP. I like what I see. He hasn't been intimidated on the road. Beating STL and Pitt going 12+ innings while giving up just 2 earned with 9Ks and 2 BBs. I haven't had faith in Matt Garza since he had a decent year for TB back in 2010. Fresh off 2 minor league games as he recovers from injury, the guy is a batting practice pitcher in my eyes. We had the Cardinals over Milwaukee yesterday as our Free Play because I thought the line was too good to be true. Well, it might be a case of deja vu again. Or maybe the powers that be just think that the youngster is going to get shelled and Garza is going to turn into 1986 Teddy Higuera - (finished 2nd in Cy Young with 20-10 15CGs! - his 85-88 years were pretty good) - Brewers now 3-8 at home after dropping 3 straight to Red Birds. I think he has success vs this Pitt lineup for sure. Yanks are rested, which means Girardi could be in his dominate bullpen possibly by the 5th inning! - Somehow, the Pirates went into Wrigley and swept the Cubs scoring 6,8 and 4 runs. I can't lay anything with the Jays on the ML with that kind of trend. But I can sure go RL for a little extra payday, especially with Sanchez on the hill. Guy has allowed 1 run or fewer in 15 of his 31 starts since last year. Heck, he's allowed 2 or less in 22 of those 31 games. Guy is clearly not going to let the game get a way from him. We are suppose to have faith in Wade Miley? The guys hasn't had a winning years since 2012. I'll count back ERA for you. Last year, 6.17 in 11 starts with the O's 4.98 in 19 starts with Mariners. 2015 he posted a 4.46 in Boston. I know the Jays haven't hit a lick. But here is a real chance for them to break out offensively. I guess you can lay the -130 and expect Sanchez to give up his 2 runs. Taking the ASTROS here on the RL for the extra payday. OK. Right off the bat MLB gets a bit tougher for me in mid, late September. I'm a dog guy. But there are just so many +180, +205 dogs you can grab and cash. Lately it seems I cross half the games off the board. Maybe the Cubs -260 on the road is an easy win. But I can't lay that. Not today. Not really ever. So I have to pick and choose some small faves or dogs. Here. I am going ML. Houston is actually favored over a team that has crushed them all year long. Rangers something like 71-27 in the series. So why now on the 'Stros. This isn't a play on Peacock. This is a fade on Griffin. We have cashed a few times on AJ, but not here. A 5.52 road ERA in 12 starts is just the kind of pitcher the Astros need to face. Griffin has a 10+ ERA in September, coming off a 5.34 August ERA where opposing batters raked him at a .302 clip. For the Motor City Kitties, this kid Fulmer has been pretty good. In 5 home starts he is 2-0 1.41 ERA .180 BA Against and .84 WHIP. Unlike Porcello his road ERA (2.56 14 starts) isn't much different. Pitchers are pitching. They are ready to make a move and the Indians tripped up a bit and KC and Chicago have gone off the rails for the year. A good veteran lineup will work 'Thor' for all he's worth tonight. And let's be honest. This Mets group has been flat of late. They made the move for Bruce and then lose Cespedes and can't knock off the Yankees who raised the white flag with their deadline deals. Verlander looks reborn with a 1.69 ERA in July along with a .89 WHIP and .171 BAA. I like Syndergaard and can't knock his numbers. At home he has a very good 2.45 ERA in 10 starts. A 1.05 WHIP helps the cause. Tom Koehler has been opposite. He has pitched into the 5th once in his last 4 starts giving up 29 hits with an ERA of 7+! Koehler with a whopping .362 BA against here in July. His road splits aren't much better posting a 5.02 ERA in 11 starts with opposing hitters batting .294 against him and a WHIP of 1.74. He has given up 4 or more runs in 5 of his last 6 starts. Hitters were slapping him around to the tune of .337 BA against last month. I don't even count Matz first start of the year. It was a quirky schedule and he wasn't getting reps in. In my eyes, he is a perfect 7-0 with a 1.13 ERA. Even giving up 6 hits in 1+ innings, he still sports a .99 WHIP. Taking the CUBS on the RL here. I don't lay 150-160, not going to laying over 2-1 even with Arrieta on the hill. What is there to say about this guy? I can bombard you with his numbers, but everyone knows them already. He has been lights out for the last couple months. When a guy doesn't give up a run, it is hard to beat him. Cards are no push-overs, but Jake has been just been pitching on a totally different level. 4* RL Money CHICAGO CUBS

Taking ARIZONA here, plus sprinkling in RL action. Like this Ruby kid coming over from Boston. He does walk some guys, but he also strikes them out. He had a 1.76 spring ERA and overall pitched well, minus his walk issues. I am not a fan of this SF club. The offense looks pretty weak. They managed to hold on yesterday. Look, when Bumgarner is on the hill, they have a shot vs anyone because he is going to shut a team down. Ryan Vogelsong? Not so much. A 6.45 spring ERA shows me the 37 year old is just not going to be that impressive. I will take my shot with the young, hard thrower and go for the big RL also. 5* Best Bet ARIZONA DBACKS

Taking TAMPA BAY here on the RL. We could easily go ML here -135 or so, but I am looking to start the week with a nice payday..*** First, an apology for yesterday's terrible NFL.. That was the first winless day in over 2 years. Always the truth with me, win or lose. We will bounce back as our 58% winners the last 3 years dictates..** Back to the RAYS. Tampa surging again winning 4 straight and 7 of their last 10. Orioles heading in the opposite direction dropping 4 in a row and 6 of 10 and now sit 4.5 games back of Tampa and Cleveland in the wild-card hunt. They have a lot of leap-frogging to do to get back in the thick of things. The simple truth is that the O's are just 1-5 their last 6 to Tampa and 2-10 last 12 in the series. Chen is pitching to a 5.00 ERA his last 3 starts and coupled with a .289 BA Against on the road, I think the Rays get us the money here this afternoon. Archer has been terrific at home posting a .97 WHIP to go along with a .204 BA against. 4* RL Money TAMPA BAY RAYS

Lincy is 2-6 4.40 ERA on the road this year. SF got the win last night, they won't make it 2 straight. Rays 12-2 last 14 at home and 12-2 last 14 in inter-league. They are 23-5 last 28 overall. I think it will take a few more games till the pitchers get comfortable. STL has now dropped 7 straight. They are 1-6 in Kelly's last 7 road starts. Pirates 6-1 in Morton's last 7 starts. Taking the DODGERS here on the RL. Kershaw is a beast. No other way to put it. The fact that he has 6 losses speaks more to the LAD offense than how he pitches. Dodgers have clearly been reborn of late. People like to talk about Puig. Oh, he's great, he's the sparkplug. Well I disagree. I think it is all about HanRam. Hanley Ramirez is batting .383 (13 higher) has 6 more doubles, 1 more triple, 1 more HR, 12 more RBI, more walks, 23 less Ks.. They have the same amount of steal 7, but Puig has been caught 5 times to HanRams 0. LAD 27-6 last 33 overall. Yanks 4-9 last 13. I always like fading the Yanks off their Boston series, especially on the road. Last night was no let-down either as their ace CC gives up 7 runs, and NY still battles back after spotting CC a 3 run lead. They end up losing in the B11 on a 2 out HR. That is a tough way to go down. Now they hop a flight and head to Texas to face Darvish. He has been average his last 3 starts (1-1 4.00) but against the Yanks he has been pretty good in 13+ innings posting a 1.98 ERA. He has been a strike out machine 157 in a hair under 120 innings. Yes, on 'paper' it looks like Hellickson has the Jays number with a decent career vs them. Yes he has the better numbers on the year. But digging deeper we find our value. Hellboy is great at home. Not so much on the road. 3-2 5.26 ERA in 8 starts. Tampa is 3-9 in his last 12 road starts. Buerhle is doing his thing. .500 record, high 4 ERA, eating innings. But he has been very good at home going 4-1 3.30 ERA in 9 starts. Jays 5-0 in his last 5 home starts. Yanks 1-6 in Andy's last 7 starts here in LAA. Yanks always had trouble here and 12-26 last 38 shows that. Taking OAKLAND here on the RL. Will go for the near double pay-day here. First look, I see CC at basically a pk and you look across to see who he is facing. Bartolo Colon? Is this 2002 when he went 20-8 with a 2.93 ERA? No, but it is 2013 and he is posting a 7-2 3.14 ERA. He has gone at least 7 innings in 4 straight and has given up just 3 earned runs. Clearly in the proverbial 'zone'. CC is off a CG, but that was at home. On the road the big guy sports a 4.88 ERA. He has also dealt with a loss of velocity. The A's have won 4 straight in this series. I have said earlier I think the A's win this division. Nobody gives them a shot. They can play. A scrappy bunch. A's 16-5 in Colon's last 21 starts and 8-1 his last 9 at home. They are 19-7 their last 26 overall and 38-16 last 54 at home. Play Title 10* Money-Bomb Play Selected Point Spread: -1.5/145 Taking the SD PADRES here on the RL. Man. How bad must Seattle be for San Diego to be laying 160! Mariners offense took a hit as their best hitter Morse is out injured. They are in a free-fall right now losers of 8 of their last 10. They are also a miserable 9-18 on the road. This team isn't trotting out Randy Johnson to the mound tonight. They are sending out Joe Saunders and his 6.04 ERA. You get a 6+ ERA when you allow batters to hit you at a .315 clip. Saunders is sporting a 0-4 record with an 11.25 ERA on the road where he has allowed 47 hits in 24 innings while hitters abuse him to the tune of a .423 at the plate. Mariners 2-9 last 11 overall, 0-6 last 6 on the road, 0-5 in Saunders' last 5 road starts. Padres 6-1 in Stultz last 7 home starts. 10* Money-Bomb SAN DIEGO PADRES RL

Taking STL RL here. You can go ML, but I am going after the extra pay-day here. Adam Wainwright has been nothing short of brilliant this year. 44 innings 41 hits allowed 43Ks and just 3 walks. Against the Brewers, 9-6 1.93 ERA in 139 innings. Gallardo is 1-10 6.84 ERA career vs the Cards. Brewers 0-5 in his last 5 starts vs the Cards and 3-13 his last 16 starts vs STL. Cards 5-1 last 6 in the series and 10-4 last 14 in Milwaukee. 5* BEST BET St. Louis Cards RL

Taking the PIRATES RL here. What can you say about AJ Burnett. The guy is killing it. He has a career 2.98 ERA in 23 starts here at home. He is only 2-2 in 6 starts this year, but is sporting a 2.83 ERA in 35 innings. AJ also with 48Ks during that time and allowing just 27 hits for a .211 BA against average. It is easy to be fooled by Detwiler 2.03 ERA this year. In 31 innings he has allowed 36 hits and hitters are batting .298 against him. He has just 16Ks on the year and 6 walks which just proves my theory that he pitches to contact. Pirates with an underrated offense and their best player, McCutchen hasn't even begun to hit yet. 4* Money-Maker PITT PIRATES RL
