Taking the BLUE JAYS, going RUN LINE. Kikuchi wrapped up a nice June with a 2.28 ERA .87 WHIP and .180 BA Against. He gets a struggling Red Sox bunch this afternoon. Boston hitting 6th in the league worse on the road at a .228 clip. Jays looking to make a move and a slumping Red Sox offense is here to a rescue a season on the brink. Kutter Crawford has better away splits from Fenway, but I am not buying. He was in the bullpen for a reason. But you lose Sale, Kluber, Houck - Pivetta is terrible. 10 starters used by Boston this year tells you all you need to know about their season. 1-8 run last 9 heading into Friday. Give me the home team. 4* RL Money TORONTO BLUE JAYS

Taking the RANGERS, going RUN LINE. I think this is a big game, and big series for Texas. They pushed Gray back for this start. Seager sits for a little rest, and he comes big bad in state Bad Boy Houston Astros. No love lost here. Blanco has been decent in his 4 starts, but nothing special. 23 innings 12 runs 7 HRs. 2 HRs allowed in each of the last 3 starts. That can be dangerous vs the Rangers at home who are a league best hitting .288 at home and 2nd in HRs at home with 71. Jon Gray with a .88 WHIP his last 7 starts and has been in a groove the entire season (2.89 ERA 1.05 WHIP) 4* RL Money TEXAS RANGERS

Taking TEXAS, going RUN LINE. Yeah. Tough spot off the Yankees series. But I firmly believe that the Rangers are a good team. And a good team should take care of a bad team. Tigers are what, 10 games under on the season and 7 under on the road? Texas is a first place team that is 24-13 at home, cashing the same 24-13 record on the RL. Matthew Boyd is not a top flight lefty. I am not sold on his very good road splits. He faced some rather poor offenses in my opinion. Nothing like this lineup he gets tonight. Rangers are hitting .290 vs lefties. Heaney has had 2 bad starts on the season, both here at home. Opening day, the Orioles tagged him in 2+ innings - then the Diamondbacks got him. His other 12 starts on the year - 3 ERs or less in them all., And 8 of them 2 or less. Tigers overall - 26th in MLB .229 BA and DEAD LAST on the road hitting .215. Rangers at home .285 with 61 HRs. 4* RL Money TEXAS RANGERS

And why wouldn't we like that here? This is for Friday, but entering last nights game, the Pirates had lost 9 in a row and 14 of 16. Win, lose, whatever happened Thursday, I am still all in on Miami tonight. Can't bet on teams playing that poorly. Marlins in a nice little groove the last couple weeks. If you didn't already know, Miami the #2 team in all of MLB hitting vs lefties at a.294 clip. Luis Ortiz is not a top tier lefty and they should have 5 across the board by the 5th inning. 4* RL Money MIAMI MARLINS

Taking the RAYS, going RUN LINE. Well - coming into Thursday action the Royals have gone 3-17 their last 20 games. Rays the best offense at home or at least a very close 2nd when tallying up all the numbers. Grienke looks as if Father Time has called him for a meeting. Road woes for the veteran posting a 6.15 ERA in his 7 starts including allowing 8 HRs. This Rays team can hit in their home park. Eflin looks great this year for Tampa and is a terrific here at home. 7 games a .80 WHIP, 1,96 BAA and 1.85 ERA. How is KC going to score? 5th worse hitting in the league on the road, the least amount of runs scored. 4* RL Money TAMPA BAY RAYS

Taking the TIGERS, going RUN LINE. Look. This is really a straight fade of the Royals who have dropped 15 of 17 games. We also have Jordan Lyles who is 0-11 in 14 starts and KC is, yep, 0-14 in all his games started. Just 9 road wins for KC on the year. Tigers have had a little pep in their step lately. Motor City Kitty's putting up some runs. Olson was not bad in 2 road starts at the White Sox and Philly - 10 innings 5 hits 9 Ks.. Braves tagged him for 6 in 3.1 innings. Is that really a shocker? Since that 10-7 Atlanta win, the Braves have put up 6-8-8-10-14 runs. So, I can't really blame the rookie there. And the Royals lineup is nothing like the Braves. We go RUN LINE for the bigger pay day. 4* RL Money DETROIT TIGERS

Taking the TWINS, going RUN LINE. Twins come in with 2 straight wins and get the Tigers off a double dip vs the Braves. Detroit struggles to win games in good spots - this is not a good spot. Sonny Gray, (Like Ober and Ryan) continues to pitch great. Guy has been great at home. 1.71 ERA in 7 starts 1.05 WHIP decent .226 BAA. 50Ks in 42 innings. He gets a Tigers bunch that is a league worse .209 hitting club on the road. Now -Minnesota just can't seem to generate much offense. They get Matthew Boyd. And at first look - should be a nice easy win. But, the guy has been more than decent in his road starts. That being said. I can't just sit here and kick the Tigers backs in all day. This guy might be able to limit the damage. The problem is Gray facing this inept offense that makes an inept Twins offense look like Kirby - Hrbek and whatever other old school guy you want to toss out is in the lineup! 4* RL Money MINNESOTA TWINS

Guy is off a super May going 38 innings in 6 starts. 1.89 ERA .213 BAA .95 WHIP. Hasn't given up more than 3 runs in a start since April 11. Rough start to the season for him. 16 ERs in 12.2 innings of work. 15 ERs in the 60 since. Take out his 1st 3 starts and you are staring a 1.25 ERA instead of 3.74. Guy looks to be in top form. Taking the RAYS, going RUN LINE. This isn't me trying to say anything bad about the 1st Place Twins or Louie Varland. He has been more than solid on the bump, along with the rest of the Minny staff. But they do come in on a little 2 game slide, and are just 2 games over .500 on the year, and 2 game Under .500 on the road. Tampa is a league best 26-6 at home and should be considered a top AL team. Rays are the #2 hitting team in all of MLB and when we look at the home numbers, they are either at #1 or #2 in all important stats. We also get Zach Eflin for us who has been super at home. 6 home games and a 2.19 ERA with a .84 WHIP and .207 BAA. You have to love that low WHIP especially vs a Twins team that is the 3rd worse hitting (221 BA/ 302 OBP) team in the league. Rays should get into the win column with a 5-1 type of game tonight. 4* RL Money TAMPA BAY RAYS

Taking the BRAVES, going RUN LINE. Pretty much a fade for me of Ryne Nelson. There is only 1 Ryne, and RYNO is Mr Sandberg in my mind! Mid 80s joke aside, Ryne Nelson has been shelled here at home. Opposing hitters raking at a .323 clip in his 4 starts, 40 hits in 30.2 innings, 23 ERs in those innings and we have an ERA near 7. 10 walks and just 18 strike outs. Safe to say he is up against it vs a pretty decent Braves offense. Add in a Cy Young caliber arm in Strider, and we have a recipe for a winner on our hands. As bad as Nelson is at home, Strider on the road is the opposite. A .196 BAA and decent 1.15 WHIP. 45 strikeouts in 28.2 innings. Just 20 hits allowed. The A's can't lose every game. Now it is Oakland with the long flight to the other side of the country. Cabrera does have some ugly overall number for Miami. But at home, the kid has been solid. 4 starts and a .222 BAA with a 3.60 ERA, the road, a 5.91 ERA but a nearly identical .221 BAA. Oakland the worse hitting clubs at .219 on the year - on the flip side, vs lefties, in 40 games - Marlins #4 in MLB with a .297 BA. A's are in for a long season. 5-22 on the road. Taking the ANGELS, going RUN LINE. For me - this is a scheduling spot to play on LA. Getting Miami out of Colorado. Granted, this isn't crazy old Rockies baseball with 13-10 scores, but it is always an angle I like to play on. Both teams are near the top of hitting lefties, but I have to consider that Miami is still a poor road team. I think we see a complete game for the Halos. Perhaps my $50 at 150/1 Cy Young on Detmers clouds my vision a bit, but he is coming off a nice 12 strike out performance in his last start and I expected a step forward here after his 2022 campaign. Luzardo, even being an ex-Oakland A's, has just 14 batters faced vs this lineup. 4* RL Money LA ANGELS

We will still come back on the Rays here with McClanahan on the hill. Superior edge over Kikuchi. Just this year, Shane goes 6 and strikes out 6 in a 8-1 win. I see more of the same tonight. Kikuchi on the road slightly worse than at home. 4.50 ERA but what grabs me is the .284 BAA. Rays at home - tied for the most HRs, 4th in Runs + RBIs and off course heading into Tuesday night - a league best 22-4 at home and the best ERA - WHIP - BAA in the game. 4* RL Money TAMPA BAY RAYS

But Miller hasn't been all that great stat wise. And again, that to me isn't an end all be all. But in Strider - I know exactly what we have going tonight. 7+ 10Ks a run or two tops. Plus a deep lineup that will work the youngster into counts and get him in bad situations. You won't ever catch me laying more that 2-1.. heck -140 is steep! Take the RUN LINE tonight 4* RL Money ATLANTA BRAVES

Taking the RED SOX, going RUN LINE. Don't be fooled by Bello's 5 ERA on the year. That is juiced up from opening day where he allowed 5 Earned on 8 hits in 2.2 innings of work and to a lesser extend his 2nd start of the year going 4.2 innings giving up 3 Earned on 5 hits to the Brewers. In his last 3 starts vs Cleveland, Toronto and at Atlanta - 16 innings 5 Earned and 16 Ks for a respectable 2.81 ERA over that stretch. Sox at home ripping opposing pitchers at a .290 clip. Enter Marco Gonzalez. Now. He has a bad 8 run 5 earned stint at Toronto a few starts ago. All in all - not that terrible on the season. He will give you 5+ and give up a couple runs and not strike anyone out. This just feels like the Red Sox club him like the Blue Jays did. 4* RL Money BOSTON RED SOX
