Indians/Tigers 7:10: Indians' bats (30th ranked) not delivering the wins for Cleveland; however, pitching and defense (#1 ranked) is for them. Aaron Civale, who's looking sharp thus far, dominated the Tigers to the tune 3 ER over 20 2/3 IP last season. On the other hand, Ivan Nova for Detroit, has some juice left and should hurl a decent game against the struggling Indians' lineup. Nova sports a 4.24 ERA in 7 starts vs Cleveland. Both teams experiencing heavy "under" trends including this series which has gone "under" in 5 straight and 1-3-1 O/U in Detroit. "Under" it is.

Padres/Dodgers 9:40: Two pretty good starters take the mound tonight. Paddack sports a 3.18 ERA and did a good job on August 3rd vs Los Angeles allowing 3 runs over 6 innings to capture the win. His counterpart, Julio Urias controls a 2.40 ERA on the year and a 1.76 ERA vs San Diego. Dodgers' bats have cooled off a bit since that early season surge but their defense remains spot on which accounts for heavy "under" trends this season. SD not consistent in scoring but does have a better than normal lineup. Urias and that LA bullpen tough to get runs on especially in this pitchers' park. Series is 1-4 O/U and 2-10 O/U in the last 12 in Los Angeles. "Under" it is.

He's 2-1 with a 2.39 ERA in his last 4 starts vs Minnesota. He faces a Twins' lineup that's turning in runs but batting .225 as a team. Twins counter with Dobnak who also looked good in his debut. He sports a 2.45 ERA in 3 starts - all last season - vs Cleveland. With this series at an amazing 18-40-2 O/U in its last 60 games, "under" it is.

Giants/Rockies 8:10: Both teams in a slight funk but Giants should break out of it here. SF puts their ace - Madison Bumgarner on the hill. He's back on his game with a 0.83 WHIP in his last 3 starts and 6-1 in his last 7 team starts. Dating back to last season, he's 4-0 vs Colorado in team starts; furthermore, sports an impressive 16-8 mark with a 3.07 ERA in 33 starts vs Colorado. The Rockies counter with Jon Gray who is having a great year; however, he's 1-4 with a bloated 5.08 ERA vs SF. Giants are still in the playoff chase with the 20-8 run and have owned the NLW at 10-2. They're 8-1 off a loss. Rockies on a 7-20 slide and should stumble in this spot. Giants the call.

Angels/Rangers 8:05: Angels' bats came alive the last few games after the death of their teammate Skaggs; however, Lance Lynn may be a bit more difficult to hit on. Lynn sports a commanding 2/25 walk/strikeout ratio over his last few starts and controls a respectable 2.84 ERA in two starts vs the Angels this season. Lynn has a history of strength at home in July (12-2 record). On the other hand, the Angels counter with underrated Griffin Canning who's been a steady addition in the rotation. He gives them 6 decent innings with a good WHIP (.99 on season)! Rangers are struggling to drive in runs now; as a matter of fact, just 3.1 RPG over their last 7. Rangers are 1-7-1 O/U last nine games. This series tilts towards the "under" at 8-21 O/U in the last 29 meetings. Value with "under".

Braves/Cardinals 7:05: Both of these pitchers are on their game but will give the edge to the resilient Braves which are 4-0 following a loss. Teheran has been solid virtually all year and sports a 1.08 ERA over his last 3 starts. He and the Braves have been money on Sundays, a day in which he's gone 22-6 while his team is 25-9 in the same role. Sure, Flaherty is starting to get it together including a strong performance at Atlanta on the 14th of this month; however, we'll look for the Atlanta hitters to figure him out tonight. Braves are 5-1 in St. Louis. Sure, the Cardinals got them yesterday but St. Louis has not won back-to-back games this entire month! Atlanta the call.

TB is 1-7-1 O/U in its last 9 on the road; meanwhile, Washington is coming off an extended road trip and back at home with one of their most dominant starters in Max Scherzer who is in great form. Washington is 3-13 O/U in its last 16 interleague games including 0-8 O/U at home. TB is struggling to hit the ball now and that struggle should continue tonight. The Rays counter with Nathan Eovaldi who has successfully rehabbed for yet another elbow surgery. Rays/Mariners 4:10: All great things come to an end. As much as I was a fan of King Felix, I am now fading him fast. Hernandez' injuries have caught up with him and he's made little attempt to adjust his mechanics to compensate for his precipitous drop in the velocity of his fastball; consequently, he doesn't have that unhittable changeup or breaking ball that befuddled batters. Felix now sports a bloated 5.83 ERA and it's not getting any better. He used to finish games and now can barely get through 6. He's also a poor 1-6 on Sunday in team starts. Yes, he's owned TB but believe the road savvy Rays will get the best of him here. TB now 6-0 in Game 3 of a series and 7-2 after losing first two games of a series. We'll jump on Blake Snell who has thrown 23 strike outs over his last 18 1/3 IP. Rays are 7-3 in his last 10 starts and he's 7-0 vs the ALW. Rays the call.

Cubs/Brewers 8:10: Brew Crew has the advantage here with the hotter bats and pitching a bit better at this stage of the season. Cubs have come up empty scoring runs in their last two games and Rizzo is struggling (.130 BA). He shouldn't do any better tonight against Brent Suter. He's 0-8 vs him. Moreover, the Cubs are driving in less than a run per game vs lefties on a .178 BA. Sure, Brent Suter is surely not a dominating pitcher but threw a nice game at San Diego in his season debut. He's a respectable pitcher at this ball park (3.23 ERA) and threw well in his career vs the Cubs (3.14 ERA in 6 outings). He's catching them at the right time when the bats are deflated. On the other hand, Jon Lester continues his struggles in the early part of the season. Lester got lit up in his season debut and is a meager 15-17 in March and April. Brewers producing 5.40 RPG on a .273 BA vs lefties. We'll take the Brewers here.

Mariners/Giants 7:15: Pitchers' park and two opposing pitchers strong in the roles they're given tonight. Felix Hernandez, still one of MLB's best, is coming off a strong season debut and when he's on, quite simply hard to hit. Such be the case tonight against the light hitting Giants who have driven in a measly 1.15 RPG vs righties thus far. Hernandez sports a 1.86 ERA in 4 outings vs SF and he should go deep into the innings tonight before a solid Mariners bullpen (2.84 ERA) takes over. On the other hand, Johnny Cueto showed good stuff in his season debut and when he's on, he's electric. Cueto sports a 2.89 ERA vs the Mariners and he's shown good stuff in interleague play (2.50 ERA over 21 starts). SF bullpen pretty solid as well with a 3.31 ERA. SF is collectively 6-14 O/U in their last 20 games and 3-7 O/U in their last 10 at AT&T Park. Under the call.

He's carrying a high WHIP and fallen off in production over his last 3 starts. And the Mets' bullpen not giving much relief at 5.02 ERA. He sported a 2.05 ERA with an 85/15 strike out/walk ratio. He recorded 15 strike outs in about 6 innings in his last AA start before the call to the big leagues for today's start. Orioles/Nationals 7:05: Both of tonight's starters are struggling to find their rhythm and should open the door for a high scoring affair. Nevertheless, Asher doesn't have the duration to go more than six innings at Washington where the Nationals are averaging a healthy 5.62 RPG against righties. The Nationals counter with Joe Ross whom is in danger of losing his starting spot in the rotation. He's been torched for 11 ER over his last 7 IP, including 5 ER on 12 hits in just 4 innings at home to light hitting SD. And the Washington bullpen is near a bloated 5:00 ERA this season. Orioles are 5-0 O/U in their last 5 Interleague matchups against righties. Washington is 6-1 O/U in Interleague matchups against righties. This series has gone 4-1 O/U in its last 5.
