In the most heated and hated rivalry in all sports, the Yankees travel to Fenway Park to take on the Red Sox. For a while, Boston had their way with New York. However, the tide has turned as the Yankees have dominated this rivalry, taking six of the last seven meetings, which does include four of five matchups played this season. Believe it or not, New York possesses one of the best road records in all of baseball at 26-16 away from home while, Boston owns the worst home record in the Majors at 12-25 on their own field. On paper, New York scores more than a run a game more, and allows nearly a half a run less. Even without Aaron Judge in the lineup, New York is winning. I think things will go from bad to worse for the Red Sox, who have dropped seven of their last 10 overall outings, which does include four straight at home during that span. Cam Schlittler and Connelly Early are slated here today. The New York Yankees right-hander is 8-3 on the campaign with an anemic ERA of 1.70, as a team has won 12 of his 16 turns in 2026. Only once in those 16 stars has he allowed more than three earned runs. On the road, he is a monster going 6-1 with an ERA of 1.12. He has dominated Boston in both starts against them this season, one on the road and one at home, going 2-0, combining for 13.2 innings pitched and allowing a combined two earned runs. They Boston Red Sox left-hander has earned just one victory over his last four outings, is just 2-4 at home with a 4.82 ERA, and got shelled in his only starting against New York back in the third week of April at home. Detroit Tigers.

On paper, the Houston Astros look like the play here. I mean, their offense scores more runs, and they possess a better overall record. But baseball isn’t played on paper, it is played on the diamond. Yes, the Astros come in here winning two in a row, and six of their last eight games. But Detroit plays this team very tough. As a matter of fact, they have taken five of the last seven overall meetings with their American League rival. Their pitching staff has been very consistent this season, and they’re playing at home, where they possess a 22-18 record. Overall, the Astros struggle a bit on the road going 19-22 away from home in 2026. Imai and Melton are scheduled here. The Houston right-hander is 4-3 with a whopping ERA of 6.15 this season. In consecutive outings, he has allowed two, two, five, and three earned runs in a combined 17.2 innings pitch. On the road this season, he has an ERA of 5.71. For the Tigers, their right-hander has been very consistent all year. The team has won four of his five outings this season, as he owns an overall record of 4-0 with a 2.56 ERA. In his combined 31.2 innings pitched, he has yielded a mere nine earned runs. Take the Detroit Tigers. Thank you.

Philadelphia Phillies.

Very quietly, Philadelphia has closed the gap in the National League East, trailing Atlanta by just 4.5-games. They have taken each of the last two games against Washington, and going back a bit, six of the last eight overall meetings with their division rival. They enter this matchup with their lineup exploding, and a very good starter on the mound. Christopher Sanchez takes the hill. The left-hander is 9-3 with a 1.80 ERA on the campaign as the team has won 11 of his 16 turns in 2026. As a matter of fact, he has held lineups to two runs or less in 14 of the 16 starts. Washington is playing decent baseball overall. However, they enter Game 4 of this series struggling, dropping five of their last seven overall outings. Their lineup, which ranks among the best in all of baseball in scoring, is starting to crack a bit. And sending right-hander, Cade Cavalli to mound is going to make things go from bad to worse for this team. Take the Phillies. Thank you.

Very quietly, the Mariners have taken control of the American League West at 41-40, giving them a 2.5-game cushion over the Astros, Athletics, and Rangers (all tied). However, recently they have started to struggle, dropping six of their last 10 overall games, which does include three of four games played on the road during that span. What can you say about Pittsburgh? There are playing .500 ball at 40-40, with Milwaukee, St. Louis, and Chicago all placed above them in the National League Central. They have split out their last 10 contests. Now on paper, Seattle scores about a run less per game. But their pitching staff ranks in the top-five with a team ERA of 3.69. This is what urges me to side with them today. We are expected to see Bryce Miller and Bubba Chandler as today’s starters. The Mariners right-hander is 3-1 with a 1.58 ERA on the campaign. The starter has made seven appearances thus far in the 2026 campaign, and has yet to yield more than two earned runs in any appearance. He is a perfect 3-0 away from home, with a very respectable 2.22 ERA. By the way, he is a perfect 2-0 against National League opponents this season. The Pirates right-hander is 2-7 overall this season, with a 4.62 ERA. Believe it or not, he hasn’t pitched that badly. He just does not get to run support. He has made 15 appearances this season, as the team has dropped 11 of those outings. At home, he has struggled, going 1-3 with a 5.28 ERA. I really feel the Mariners, who by the way have taken six of the last seven meetings against the Pirates, will dominate here with a better starter on the mound. Take Seattle. Thank you.
