05-12-18 | Nationals v. Diamondbacks UNDER 8 | 2-1 | Win | 100 | 5 h 40 m | Show
Two of the better teams in baseball meet again here today as the Diamondbacks look to snap a three game losing streak. Arizona has lost the first two games of their series with the Nationals, both low scoring pitching duels. Arizona has one of the better pens with a 2.49 ERA and 1.070 WHIP and 13 saves. Troy Scribner makes his first start of the season for the Diamondbacks. The D'backs picked up Scribner off waivers from the Angels in April. Scribner spent all of 2018 in Triple-A Reno. The Nationals will start Stephen Strasburg here today. Strasburg is 4-3 in his eight starts with a 3.52 ERA and 1.044 WHIP. Strasburg has pitched well of late, allowing five runs over his last 14 innings with 16 KO's and just two walks. I like today's game to follow the first two and go UNDER. |
|||||||
05-11-18 | Nationals v. Diamondbacks UNDER 7.5 | 3-1 | Win | 100 | 10 h 44 m | Show
Two teams both looking to take their respective divisions matchup today as the Nationals travel to Arizona to take on the Diamondbacks. Washington beat Arizona last night, 2-1 in the first game of their four game set. The pitching has been excellent for the Nats, allowing just three runs over their last three games. Max Scherzer has been excellent this year for the Nats with a 6-1 record and 1.74 ERA and 0.852 WHIP. Scherzer has yet to allow more than two earned runs in any of his starts. Arizona has dropped to 24-13 after losing two games straight. Matt Koch has been very good the D'backs, with a 2-0 record in his four starts and a 2.31 ERA. Koch also has not allowed more than two runs in any of his four starts. This promises to be a good pitcher duel and I'm taking the UNDER |
|||||||
05-11-18 | Braves -128 v. Marlins | 3-6 | Loss | -128 | 7 h 15 m | Show
The Braves bring a three game win streak into tonight's contest. The Braves improved to 22-14 with two wins at Tampa Bay and last night's win at Miami. Brandon McCarthy is 4-1 this year in his seven starts with a 4.84 ERA and 1.586 WHIP. Marcarthy is coming off his worst start, a 3 1/3 inning performance where he allowed eight runs. Miami has now lost four straight after being swept by the Cubs and last night's loss to the Braves. The Marlins will turn to Daniel Straily today. Straily is 0-0 in his two starts with a 6.57 ERA and 2.125 WHIP. I'm taking the Braves here tonight, they are winning and they have the better pitcher on the hill. Play Atlanta |
|||||||
05-11-18 | Red Sox v. Blue Jays UNDER 8.5 | 3-5 | Win | 100 | 7 h 9 m | Show
The Red Sox continue to play well, now at 26-11 on the season after their win over the Yankees on Thursday, 5-4. Boston is getting excellent starting pitching, with four pitchers having an ERA under 2.79. Today's starter, Chris Sale is having an excellent season at 3-1 in eight starts with a 2.02 ERA and 0.939 WHIP. Sale has allowed just two earned runs over his last 14 innings with 18 KO's and 3 Walks. Toronto dropped to 20-18 after the loss on Thursday to Seattle, 3-9. The Mariners have an excellent bullpen that has a 2.88 ERA and 1.332 WHIP with 11 saves and just four blown saves. Aaron Sanchez starts today with a 4.14 ERA and 1.427 WHIP. Price too high to take Sox here, but I do like the UNDER. Play UNDER tonight. |
|||||||
05-11-18 | Rays v. Orioles -125 | Top | 4-9 | Win | 100 | 7 h 10 m | Show |
Tampa Bay still struggling to make it back to the .500 mark as they now sit at 15-19 on the season and bring a three-game losing streak into today's contest. The Orioles are also struggling, at just 10-27 they are way out of the race at this point. The O's have won two straight, beating the Royals in their last two games. Kevin Gausman is 2-2 this year with a 3.30 ERA and 1.145 WHIP. Gausman coming off an excellent start where he went 5 2/3 innings and allowed just one run. Tampa will counter with Jacob Faria, who is 3-1 with a 4.15 ERA and 1.212 WHIP. I'm taking the home team here. Two poor teams, but the O's have some momentum and they have the better pitcher on the hill. Play Baltimore. |
|||||||
05-10-18 | Red Sox v. Yankees -124 | 5-4 | Loss | -124 | 2 h 15 m | Show
The Yankees bring a 8-game win streak into tonight's game with the Red Sox. The Yankees have taken the first two in this series, winning 3-2 and then last night, 9-6. The Yankees also swept Cleveland and took three of four from the Astros. Their pitching has been excellent and today's starter, CC Sabathia has been red-hot. Sabathia is 2-0 in six starts with a 1.39 ERA and 0.866 WHIP. He's been even better than that recently, allowing just one run over his last four starts. The Red Sox will look to Eduardo Rodriquez to snap their modest losing streak. Rodriquez is 3-0 with a 5.29 ERA and 1.268 WHIP. Rodriguez is coming off two poor starts where he's allowed 10 runs over 10 innings. Sabathia is just pitching too well to pass on him here today. I'm taking the Yankees. |
|||||||
05-09-18 | Mariners +114 v. Blue Jays | 2-5 | Loss | -100 | 7 h 8 m | Show
Seattle pitcher James Paxton threw the first no-hitter by a Canadian on Canadian soil last night when he blanked the Jays, 5-0. The M's will try and send their win streak to two games tonight behind pitcher Wade Leblanc. Leblanc has just one start and pitched well, going just four innings and allowing no runs. Toronto has now lost four of the last five games after their no-hit loss on Tuesday. Jaime Garcia will start for the Jays with a 2-2 record in his six starts with a 6.60 ERA and 1.601 WHIP. Garcia coming off a terrible start where he allowed six runs over 3 1/3 innings. I like the Mariners again today with Leblanc. Play Seattle. |
|||||||
05-09-18 | Astros -1.5 v. A's | 4-1 | Win | 100 | 4 h 38 m | Show
The Houston Astros have beaten the A's two straight games after Tuesday's win, 4-2. The Astros have now outscored Oakland, 20-4 in the series. Gerrit Cole gets the start today for the Astros. Cole has a 3-1 record in his seven starts with a nice 1.42 ERA and outstanding 0.691 WHIP. Cole has had seven quality starts, allowing more than two runs just once (3). Cole also has 28 KO's in his last two games against just one walk. Oakland's offense won't get a break tonight against Cole. They have scored just eight runs in the last four games and have scored over three runs just one time in their last eight games. I'm laying the 1.5 runs tonight with Houston and maybe the best pitcher in baseball right now. Play Houston -1.5 runs. |
|||||||
05-08-18 | Astros v. A's +119 | 4-2 | Loss | -100 | 21 h 47 m | Show
Oakland and Houston continue their series here tonight. The A's look to Sean Manaea to bounce back after his lackluster performance last week. Manaea had that no-hitter back on April 21st vs the Red Sox. Then he pitched another fine outing, allowing no earned runs to the Astros. Last outing though he took the loss as the Mariners hit him for four earned runs over six innings. Houston will counter with Lance McCullers Jr who is 4-1 on the season with a 3.73 ERA and 1.195 WHIP. McCullers has pitched very well of late, allowing just two earned runs over his last 20 innings. Manaea has pitched way too well this season not to rebound here tonight. Plus we get the A's as a home dog. Take Oakland. |
|||||||
05-08-18 | Braves v. Rays -121 | 1-0 | Loss | -121 | 18 h 52 m | Show
Interleague action tonight as the Tampa Bay Rays host the Atlanta Braves. The Braves have dropped three straight games to 19-14. Atlanta was swept by the Giants, getting outscored 9-24 in the process. Sean Newcomb starts today for the Braves with a 2-1 record in his six starts. He also has a 3.38 ERA and 1.269 WHIP. Tampa Bay took two of their last three from Toronto. The Rays much better of late, evidenced by their recent eight game win streak and their 11-4 record over their last 15 games. Blake Snell gets the start tonight for the Rays and he's pitched very well with a 4-1 record and 2.55 ERA and 0.945 WHIP. In fact, Snell has five quality starts out of his seven and hasn't allowed over two runs in each of his last five starts. I like the Rays tonight. Play Tampa Bay. |
|||||||
05-08-18 | Mariners -118 v. Blue Jays | 5-0 | Win | 100 | 18 h 47 m | Show
Seattle and Toronto start their series here tonight with the Mariners coming in at 19-14 and the Blue Jays at 19-16.Seattle completed a six game home stint, going 3-3. Before that they took three of four on the road at Cleveland. James Paxton gets the start this evening. Paxton is 1-1 with a 4.19 ERA and 1.319 WHIP. Paxton is coming off a fine start, going seven innings and allowing no earned runs. The Blue Jays have lost their last two series. The Jays will start Marucs Stroman who is 0-4 in his six starts with a 7.52 ERA and 1.639 WHIP. I like the Mariners here on Tuesday with a good pitcher on the hill. Play Seattle. |
|||||||
05-07-18 | Astros v. A's +130 | 16-2 | Loss | -100 | 11 h 58 m | Show
The Houston Astros have dropped two straight games heading into today's new set with the A's. The Astros lost two of three in their recent IL trip to Arizona. The Astros turn to Dallas Keuchel today who is 1-5 in his seven starts this year. Keuchel has struggled, especially in his last two starts where he has allowed nine runs over 14 innings. Meanwhile, the A's are fresh off their sweep of the Baltimore Orioles. They held the O's to just five total runs. Brett Anderson gets only his second start of the season. Anderson went 6 2/3 innings in his first start, allowing just two earned runs for his team's win. The A's are a nice dog here tonight and I see lots of value in them. Play Oakland. |
|||||||
05-07-18 | Tigers -102 v. Rangers | 6-7 | Loss | -102 | 9 h 59 m | Show
Two teams still looking to find some footing this year will meet tonight as the Rangers hos the Tigers. Detroit is 14-19 on the season after losing three of their last four games. They will turn to starter Michael Fulmer today. Fulmer is 1-2 in his six starts with a nice 2.80 ERA and 1.274 WHIP. Fulmer has had four quality starts in his six outing and has held the opposition to two runs or less in five of those games. Texas has lost three games and six of eight. Matt Moore will start today for the Rangers. Moore is 1-4 in his six starts with a 7.94 ERA and 1.941 WHIP. Moore was hit hard last time out, allowing 10 runs over four innings. I like Detroit here on Monday. |
|||||||
05-07-18 | Marlins +215 v. Cubs | 2-14 | Loss | -100 | 9 h 58 m | Show
The Miami Marlins traded away a lot of their talent in the offseason and there was great speculation where they would generate any offense. And that's just what happened early in the season, they were losing and not scoring runs. However, the Marlins have won six of their last eight games and have been scoring now that they have their lineup more set. Today, they face the Cubs. Are the Cubs better? Yes. Is Kendircks better than Garcia? Well, yes, but not so far this year. Jarlin Garcia is 1-0 in his four starts with a 0.78 ERA and 0.826 WHIP. He's kept his team in all four games with a chance to win. Add to that fact that the Cubs had to go 14 innings last night only to lose on a Fowler 2-run home run in the bottom of the 14th and the Cubs should be tired and the pen in need of rest. That gives us a Miami team ripe for a win as a huge dog here on Monday. Play the Marlins |
|||||||
05-06-18 | Angels v. Mariners +114 | 8-2 | Loss | -100 | 4 h 47 m | Show
The Angels continue to play well this season with a 20-13 record. They did have their four game win streak snapped last night by Seattle, 8-9. The Angels turn to Shoehi Ohtani who is 2-1 thi season in his four starts. Ohtani hasn't started since his April 24th outing vs Houston. Ohtani has a 4.43 ERA and 1.131 WHIP this season. The Mariners turn to veteran starter Felix Herandez who is 4-2 in his seven starts. Hernandez has a 4.89 ERA with a 1.267 WHIP this season. Getting Herandez as a home dog here is too much to pass on. I'm taking Seattle. |
|||||||
05-06-18 | Astros v. Diamondbacks UNDER 8 | 1-3 | Win | 100 | 4 h 45 m | Show
The one IL game on the schedule today has the Astros playing at the Diamondbacks. Both these teams playing very well this season with Houston at 21-14 and Arizona at 22-11. These teams have split the first two games of this series with Houston winning on Friday, 8-0 and Arizona taking Saturday's contest, 4-3. Houston turns to World Series MVP Justin Verlander today. Verlander is a perfect 4-0 on the season in his seven starts. He is in the same form we saw when he came over from Detroit last season with a 1.13 ERA and 0.671 WHIP. Verlander has allowed just three runs over his last 36 innings. Arizona will counter with Matt Koch who is 1-0 in his three starts. Koch has also been excellent this year with a 2.65 ERA and 1.118 WHIP. The D'backs also have that excellent pen and while it has faltered the last week, it's still one of the best. I'm taking the UNDER here today. |
|||||||
05-06-18 | Tigers v. Royals UNDER 9 | 2-4 | Win | 100 | 2 h 51 m | Show
Both these clubs have struggled this season. The Tigers are 14-18 on the season and the Royals are just 10-23. Detroit has had issues scoring runs, evidenced by their three runs or less in five of last six games. Matt Boyd starts today and he's been very good for the Tigers. Boyd is just 1-2, but has a nice 2.48 ERA and 1.069 WHIP in his five starts. Boyd is coming off a fine one-run performance over six innings vs the Rays. Kansas City will turn to Jake Junis today. Junis is 3-2 with a 3.29 ERA and 0.939 WHIP. Junis has had four quality starts in his six games. Both these pitchers have done well and I expect them to be in a tight game today. Play the UNDER. |
|||||||
05-06-18 | Pirates v. Brewers -120 | 9-0 | Loss | -120 | 2 h 46 m | Show
Milwaukee improved its record to 20-14 with their win over the Pirates on Saturday, 5-3. The teams have split the first two games of this series. The Brewers have now won four of their last five games. They will start Chase Anderson today who is 3-2 in his seven starts with a 3.38 ERA and 1.125 WHIP. Anderson has pitched well, with four quality starts out of his seven outings. Pittsburgh has dropped to 18-16 with their recent 1-4 streak. Chad Kuhl will toe the rubber today for the Bucs. Kuhl is 3-2 in his six starts with a 5.01 ERA and 1.484 WHIP. Kuhl has allowed seven earned runs over his last 10 2/3 innings. Brewers playing the better ball right now and they have the better pitcher on the hill. Lay the small price with the home team here today, take Milwaukee. |
|||||||
05-04-18 | Pirates v. Brewers -105 | 6-4 | Loss | -105 | 10 h 54 m | Show
Milwaukee looks to extend its modest three game win streak tonight against Pittsburgh. The Brewers are now 19-13 on the season, but still struggle to score runs with a very low 3.8 rpg average. The Brewers have a solid bullpen that has a ERA of just 2.36, WHIP of 1.093 and has 10 saves, but five blown saves. Junior Guerra gets the start today with a 2-1 record in his four starts. Guerra has a nifty 0.82 ERA and 0.955 WHIP. Guerra has not allowed more than one run in any of his four starts this year. The Pirates will try and snap a four game losing streak after being swept by the Washington Nationals. The Bucs will start Nick Kingham for just the second time this season. Kingham had an excellent first start, going seven innings and allowing just one run with no walks and 9 KO's. I like the Brewers here on Friday, Guerra has been excellent this season and while Kingham showed very good, he still has just one start under his belt. Take Milwaukee. |
|||||||
05-04-18 | Indians v. Yankees -1.5 | 6-7 | Loss | -100 | 9 h 49 m | Show
The NY Yankees look to extend their three game win streak tonight against the Cleveland Indians. The Yankees improved to 21-10 by winning three of their last four over the Houston Astros. CC Sabathia starts today and he's been excellent this season with a 2-0 record in five starts, 1.17 ERA and 0.949 WHIP. Sabathia has allowed just two earned runs over his last 13 innings . The Indians beat the Blue Jays on Thursday 13-4 and improving to 17-14 on the season. The Tribe has not won two games in a row since April 22/23. They will turn to Josh Tomlin today who is 0-3 in his four starts with a very bad 9.68 ERA and 1.811 WHIP. Tomlin has only gone past five innings once in his four outings. Sabathia pitching very well and the Yankees are tough at home. I'm laying 1.5 runs here with New York. |
|||||||
05-03-18 | A's -115 v. Mariners | Top | 1-4 | Loss | -115 | 11 h 29 m | Show |
The A's and Mariners play a late game tonight. The A's are 15-15 on the season and the M's are 17-12. The A's are also 10-5 in their last 15 games. Sean Manaea gets the start today with his 4-2 record. The bigger news is that Manaea tossed a no-hitter two starts ago on April 21st vs the Red Sox. He followed that up with another excellent start, allowing no earned runs and four hits over seven innings to Houston. The M's will try and solve the puzzle that is Manaea. Wade Leblanc will make his first start of the season for the M's. This will be the 33-year old first start since August 2016. Leblanc was in the Pirates bullpen all of last season. Hard to pass on Manaea at just a 1.20 favorite here tonight. Leblanc is a big question, but we know what we get with the A's. Take Oakland. |
|||||||
05-03-18 | Dodgers v. Diamondbacks -133 | 5-2 | Loss | -133 | 5 h 60 m | Show
Dodgers finally won a game on Wednesday, beating the D'backs, 2-1 behind their best starter so far in Ryu. The win was just the second for the Dodgers in their last nine games. Alex Wood gets the start tonight and is 0-3 in his six starts with a 4.11 ERA and 0.886 WHIP. Wood has pitched well for the most part. He's had a couple shaky starts, but still is looking for that first win this year. The Arizona bullpen continues to shine, with 12 saves and no blown saves, a 1.97 ERA and 0.987 WHIP. If they get a lead, they likely will hold it. Pat Corbins starts tonight with his perfect 4-0 record in six games. Corbin has a 2.25 ERA and 0.750 WHIP. Between Corbin's starting pitching and the bullpen's excellent closing, I'm taking the D'backs to take tonight's game. Play Arizona. |
|||||||
05-03-18 | Braves +104 v. Mets | 11-0 | Win | 104 | 2 h 30 m | Show
Atlanta has won four straight games, improving to 18-11 on the season. The Braves have taken the first two games of this series by a combined 10-2 score. The Braves have been scoring very well, which is winning them games. Their pen is solid with a 3.84 ERA, but their five saves in 29 games show they get big leads. Julio Teheran starts today and is 1-1 in his six starts with a 4.50 ERA and 1.400 WHIP. Teheran started the season with two shaky starts, however, he's allowed just four earned runs over his last 16 innings. The Mets have struggled a bit lately, winning just two of their last six games. They start Jason Vargas who is 0-1 in his only start back on April 28. Vargas was roughed up for nine earned runs over just 3 2/3 innings of work. Braves playing very well as is their starter today, Teheran. I'm taking Atlanta. |
|||||||
05-02-18 | Dodgers v. Diamondbacks -105 | 2-1 | Loss | -105 | 10 h 58 m | Show
The first place Arizona D'backs look to take the series from the Dodgers with a win tonight. Arizona has won the first two games, including last night as a big dog that we released as our Dog Shocker of the Year. They beat the Dodgers and Clayton Kershaw last night, 4-3. Once again their top bullpen proved to be the difference gaining another save, their 12th of the year against no blow saves. They dropped their team ERA to 1.93 and WHIP to 1.007. Zack Godley gets the start tonight and he has a fine season going at 4-1 with a 3.81 ERA and 1.412 WHIP. He is coming off his worst start of the season, allowing 10 hits over five innings and four runs to the Nationals. The Dodgers dropped to 12-17 and have lost four straight games. LA is without Core Seager for the season with an elbow injury and Yasiel Puig is on the 10 day DL with a hip injury. LA turns to Hyun-Jin Ryu tonight who is their one bright spot this season at 3-0 with a 2.22 ERA and 0.847 WHIP. Ryu has been very good in all five of his starts. Still, I like the D'backs again here tonight. Ryu won't go more than six likely and that means the Dodgers bullpen will have to try and hold this one, which they haven't done well. Play Arizona. |
|||||||
05-02-18 | Pirates +185 v. Nationals | 3-9 | Loss | -100 | 7 h 23 m | Show
The Pittsburgh Pirates look to snap a two-game losing streak tonight at Washington. The Bucs are 17-13 on the season and playing well. The Pirates had won five straight prior to this two game skid. They look to take game three of four here today vs the Nationals. Washington won on Monday, 3-2 and then last night, 12-4. Ivan Nova is 2-1 for Pittsburgh this year with a 3.32 ERA and 1.026 WHIP. He is coming off an outstanding start where he allowed just six hits and no runs over eight innings to the Tigers. Washington has won three straight and still trying to get to .500 at 14-16. Stephen Strasburg gets the start today at 2-3 in his six starts with a 3.63 ERA and 1.034 WHIP. I have been doing great with my dogs this year and I see the dog with lots of value here again. No way Strasburg should be this big a favorite against Pittsburgh and Nova. Take the Pirates. |
|||||||
05-01-18 | Dodgers v. Diamondbacks +166 | 3-4 | Win | 166 | 10 h 3 m | Show
Dog Shocker Game of the Year : The first place Arizona Diamondbacks continue their winning ways as they are now 20-8 on the season after beating the Dodgers on Monday, 8-5. Their bullpen has been perfect with 11 saves and no blown saves. The pen has a 2.01 ERA and 1.007 WHIP this season. Matt Koch only has two starts but both have been very good, allowing two earned runs and one earned run in each start. His ERA is now 2.25 with a 1.000 WHIP. The Dodgers have struggled this year, so has Clayton Kershaw. LA is only 12-16 on the season and has lost six of their last seven games. Kershaw is 1-4 with a 2.84 ERA, which means you have lost big bucks if you played Clayton this year. The Dodgers also lost Corey Seager on Monday to a elbow injury and Yasiel Puig was also put on the DL with a hip injury. Kershaw is a 1.90 chalk here today on the road. NO way I can pass on Arizona, who is red hot, has a good pitcher on the hill and an excellent bullpen. This might be the Value Play of the year so far. Play Arizona. |
|||||||
05-01-18 | Rays v. Tigers +134 | 1-2 | Win | 134 | 8 h 33 m | Show
Two teams struggling to get to the .500 mark meet here today as Detroit hosts Tampa Bay. The Rays have improved to 13-14 after their win over Detroit on Monday, 3-2. Their pen is not very good, with a 5.06 ERA and six blown saves this year. Chris Archer has a winning record at 2-1, but a terrible ERA of 6.61 and a high 1.592 WHIP. Detroit looks to get back on the winning track today with Matt Boyd on the hill. Boyd is 0-2, but has a good ERA of 2.74 and WHIP of 1.000. Boyd's four starts have three very good ones where he's allowed just one earned run in each game. I always look for value in dogs and I see just that with the Tigers at home and a decent Boyd on the hill. Play Detroit. |
|||||||
05-01-18 | Phillies v. Marlins -104 | 1-2 | Win | 100 | 8 h 32 m | Show
Miami had a horrible start to the season, however, they have improved lately. The Marlins have won three straight games to improve to 10-18 on the season. In fact, Miami has won five of their last six games. Jarlin Garcia will try for his second win of the season in four starts. Garcia has pitched well, allowing just one run over his 17 innings of work. His ERA is just 0.53 with a WHIP of 0.765. Philadelphia is 16-12 on the season, but has lost three straight games including last night to the Marlins, 4-8. The Phillies will start Zach Eflin tonight. The 24-year old has been put into service because of injuries to the starting staff. While Eflin will make his first start this season, he has a 5.85 ERA with the Phillies in 22 starts. Eflin has also struggled with multiple injuries during his career. Eflin will only have a short time to impress here in the big stage. I'm going to take the Marlins here on Tuesday as Eflin is too big a question mark with a Phillies team on a losing streak. Play Miami. |
|||||||
04-30-18 | Blue Jays +108 v. Twins | 7-5 | Win | 108 | 10 h 28 m | Show
The Toronto Blue Jays snapped their four-game losing streak with a win over the Rangers on Sunday, 7-2. The Jays are still 15-12, but just endured a 2-6 run. Today they will face an equally reeling Minnesota team that has dropped to 9-14 after losing nine of their last 10 games. In addition, they lost two of three at home to the poor Reds. The bullpen has been very poor, with a 6.25 ERA and 1.701 WHIP. The pen has just three saves and four blown saves.Lance Lynn still looks for his first win against two losses in his four starts. Lynn has a 7.71 ERA and 2.035 ERA and has allowed 11 runs over his last 9.2 innings. The Jays will turn to Aaron Sanchez. Sanchez is just 1-2, but has a decent ERA of 3.69 and a WHIP of 1.295. Sanchez has been consistent, allowing three runs or less in each of his four starts. The Twins just playing too bad right now with a terrible pitcher on the hill. I'm taking Toronto in this game one. |
|||||||
04-29-18 | Yankees -103 v. Angels | 2-1 | Win | 100 | 8 h 4 m | Show
Sunday Night baseball has the Yankees playing at the Angels. The Yankees have won eight straight games after taking Saturday's game 11-1. They look for the sweep here on Sunday and turn to veteran CC Sabathia who is 1-0 with a 1.86 ERA and 0.983 ERA in his four starts. Sabathia has pitched very well, walking just four against 12 KO's. The Angels turn to Tyler Skaggs today. Skaggs is 3-1 with a 2.96 ERA and 1.207 WHIP. This should be a very good pitchers duel tonight, but I have to stick with the hot team and that's the Yankees. 04-29-18 | Diamondbacks +110 v. Nationals | 1-3 | Loss | -100 | 2 h 34 m | Show
We had the D'backs on Saturday as a nice dog and they won in extra innings, 4-3. I'm coming right back with them here on Sunday. The D'backs are 19-7 on the season and playing very well with three wins in a row. They are getting excellent starting pitching and bull pen work. The Pen has just a 1.73 ERA with 10 saves and no blown saves this year. Robbie Rays starts today with a 2-0 record in his five starts and a 5.13 ERA. Ray has pitched well, but not great. He gives the D'backs a solid 5 to six innings and has not allowed more than three runs. Then he turns the game over this excellent pen that brings it home. The Nationals have dropped two straight and now are 11-16. They start Gio Gonzalez today who is 2-2 with a 3.04 ERA and 1.50 WHIP. I think when you can get the D'backs as a dog, you should take them. At least early in the year. Their pen keeps them in games. Take Arizona today. |
|||||||
04-29-18 | Rockies -108 v. Marlins | 0-3 | Loss | -108 | 1 h 10 m | Show
Colorado Rockies dropped their Saturday game to the Miami Marlins, 1-4. That evened their series at one game apiece heading into Sunday. The Rockies start one of their best pitchers today in Chad Bettis. Bettis is 3-0 in his five starts with a 2.40 ERA and 1.133 WHIP. His road starts are even better at 1.40ERA in three starts. Miami is now 10-games under .500 at 8-18. Caleb Smith starts today and is looking for is first win after a 0-3 start through his first five games. Smith has a a 5.82 ERA with a 1.524 WHIP. Smith has had issues with control, walking 15 batters over his 21 2/3 innings. Rockies a short favorite here with a very good pitcher on the hill. Take Colorado. |

04-28-18 | Diamondbacks -132 v. Nationals | 4-3 | Win | 100 | 4 h 21 m | Show
Game of the Month |

04-28-18 | Rays +195 v. Red Sox | 12-6 | Win | 195 | 4 h 20 m | Show
Dog Shocker : Tampa Bay started the season terribly, going 4-13 their first 17 games. However, they have changed things around, winning seven straight and improving to 11-13. They face a very good Boston team that is 19-6 on the season. Tampa Bay took the opening game of this series on Friday with a 4-3 win as a +1.55 dog. The Rays start Yonny Chirinos today with a 0-1 record and 3.48 ERA and 1.161 WHIP. Chirinos is coming off start where he allowed just two runs over 4 2/3 innings to the Twins. Boston has struggled a big of late, going 2-4 their last six games. David Price gets the start and is 2-2 in his five starts this season with a 2.93 ERA and 1.156 WHIP. The Rays are a huge dog today, +1.70 and frankly I see this game as a toss-up with the hot Rays here today. I'm going to take the excellent value with Tampa Bay. |
|||||||
04-28-18 | Rangers +160 v. Blue Jays | 7-4 | Win | 160 | 4 h 20 m | Show
Dog Delight : Another big dog on tap today as the Texas Rangers play at the Toronto Blue Jays. The Rangers have won two straight games, including last night's win over the Jays, 6-4. Ageless Bartolo Colon starts today with a 0-0 record in his three starts. Colon has a 2.79 ERA and 0.931 WHIP. Colon came withing six outs of a perfect game on 4/15 vs the Astros. He'll face a Toronto team that has lost three straight games. Jamie Garcia will toe the rubber for the Jays with a 2-1 record and 4.57 ERA and 1.431 WHIP. Garcia has just one quality start in his four starts and he's coming off a 5 1/3 inning effort that had him allow four earned runs to the Yankees. This is another example of a huge dog that is playing well with a good pitcher on the hill. I think Toronto is way over valued here today and I will take the nice dog price with the Rangers. |
|||||||
04-27-18 | Mets -1.5 v. Padres | 5-1 | Win | 106 | 9 h 47 m | Show
The Mets look to snap a two game losing streak as they start a new series tonight at San Diego. The Mets are still doing very well at 15-8 on the season. The will start Jacob DeGrom who is 2-0 on the season with a nifty 2.53 ERA and 1.031 WHIP. DeGrom is coming off his best start of the season where he went seven innings, allowed four hits and no earned runs. DeGrom has also struck out 22 over his last 14 1/3 innings with just three walks. The Padres are 9-17 on the season and have also lost two straight games. Clayton Richard will start tonight with a 1-2 record in his five starts with a 5.67 ERA and 1.630 WHIP. Richard has yet to go past five innings of work and therefore expect the bullpen to play a big role for the Padres. The Padres could also be without their top offseason acquisition in 1B Eric Hosmer, who is questionable for tonight's contest. The Mets are by far the better team and DeGrom has been solid. I'm going to lay the 1.5 runs here with the Mets tonight. |
|||||||
04-27-18 | A's v. Astros UNDER 9 | 8-1 | Push | 0 | 7 h 46 m | Show
Two teams with fine pitching staffs meet tonight as the A's travel to Houston to face the Astros. Oakland is 13-12 on the season and will start Sean Manaea for the first time since his no-hitter against the Red Sox. Manaea pitched a gem, allowing no runs and striking out 10 against one of the best teams so far in baseball. The Astros know what it's like to almost get no hit when Roberto Colon came within six outs of doing the same to Houston. Houston is 17-9 and will counter with Dallas Keuchel. Keuchel is only 1-3 on the season but has a fine 3.10 ERA and 1.379 WHIP this season. He's coming off a fine outing where he allowed just one run over six innings. This promises to be a close, low scoring game with two top pitchers on the hill. Play the UNDER. |
|||||||
04-27-18 | Diamondbacks v. Nationals UNDER 7 | 5-4 | Loss | -105 | 6 h 41 m | Show
Arizona off to a great start at 17-7 mainly due to their excellent pitching staff. The D'backs have only allowed an average of 3.1 runs per game this season. Zack Godley will start tonight for the D'Backs with a 3-1 record in his four starts. He has a 3.09 ERA and 1.157 WHIP and is coming off a fine outing vs the Padres, allowing just two runs over 5 2/3 innings. The bullpen has been amazing, posting a 1.88 ERA and 0.996 WHIP this season. They have been even better on the road with a 1.52 ERA and 4-1 record. Washington is still trying to get back to .500 with their 11-14 record. Their pitching staff hasn't been so good, allowing 4.4 runs per game. Today's starter, Stephen Strasburg has pitched well, though his record is just 2-2. Strasburg has a 2.97 ERA with a 0.990 WHIP. Two excellent pitchers here tonight and I'm going to pass the side and take the UNDER. |
|||||||
04-27-18 | Tigers +107 v. Orioles | 0-6 | Loss | -100 | 6 h 40 m | Show
Two teams struggling this season meet tonight in Baltimore. The Detroit Tigers are 10-13 on the season and have lost two straight games. The Tigers had played better before losing two of three at Pittsburgh. Detroit was 5-2 in the previous seven games and looking better. Michael Fiers gets the start today at 2-1 on the season. Fiers has been one of their best starters with a 3.71 ERA and 1.412 WHIP. If you toss out his second start vs the Yankees, he's allowed only two earned runs over 11 2/3 innings. The Baltimore Orioles have struggled from the get-go to a 6-19 record and losing five straight games. The have also lost 11 of their last 12 games. Charles Tillman is 0-4 and looking for his first win. Tillman has started four and lost four with a 9.87 ERA and 2.366 WHIP. Tillman just hasn't done anything this year and allowed at least four runs in each start. Nothing good to say here about the O's who are just snake-bit at this point. Take Detroit. |
|||||||
04-26-18 | Brewers +152 v. Cubs | 0-1 | Loss | -100 | 17 h 24 m | Show
Longtime rivalry matchup here between two very close cities as Milwaukee takes on the Cubs. The Cubs had their modest two-game win streak snapped by Cleveland on Wednesday, 1-4. That makes the Cubs 11-10 on the season. The Cubs could have slugger Kris Bryant back on Thursday after taking a brutal pitch to the head a few days ago. Bryant is hitting .319 and has 11 RBI and two HR's. The Brewers are 16-9 and have run their win streak to eight after their win over the Royals on Wednesday, 6-2. The Brewers will start Chase Anderson who is 2-1 in his five starts with a 3.25 ERA and 1.048 WHIP. Kyle Hendricks will oppose for the Cubs with a 1-1 record, 4.09 ERA and 1.364 WHIP. Milwaukee is a big dog here, about +1.40 and to me that's just too high for a team that is red hot and has a very good pitcher on the hill. I'm taking the Brewers plus the big price. |
|||||||
04-26-18 | Diamondbacks +115 v. Phillies | 8-2 | Win | 115 | 10 h 24 m | Show
The D'backs and Phillies get an early start here on Thursday. Arizona saw it's three game win streak snapped on Wednesday by the Phillies, 3-5. Still, Arizona having a excellent season at 16-7. Matt Koch gets the start today. Koch has just one start under his belt this year and that a good one where he went six innings and allowed just two hits and one run. The Phils also having a good season at 15-8 on the year. They will start Ben Lively who is 0-1 in his four starts this year. Lively has a 4.64 ERA with a 1.546 WHIP. This game looks to be a good one between two good teams and two good pitchers. But I like the value with the road dog here on Thursday. Take Arizona. |
|||||||
04-26-18 | Braves -134 v. Reds | 7-4 | Win | 100 | 10 h 53 m | Show
The Braves finally beat the Reds after dropping the first two in this series. Today's series finale will find the Braves trying to escape Cincinnati with a split. Sean Newcomb will get the start for the Braves. Newcomb is 1-1 in his four starts with a 3.74 ERA and 1.524 WHIP. Newcomb has had three decent starts after his shaky opening start of the season. The loss by the Reds on Wednesday dropped the club to 5-19 on the season. Homer Bailey looks for his first win of the season after going 0-3 in his first five starts. The Reds are 0-5 in Bailey's five starts though Baily has a decent ERA at 3.68 and a WHIP of 1.159. Even though Baily has been a decent pitcher for the Reds, can't back the home team here as they just don't hit in clutch spots and that 18 losses loom big. Play the Braves. |
|||||||
04-25-18 | Brewers -111 v. Royals | 6-2 | Win | 100 | 7 h 15 m | Show
Milwaukee is off to a good start with a 15-9 record and winners of seven straight games. The Brewers look to take advantage of a struggling Royals team tonight. The Royals are just 5-16 on the season and struggling to score runs, evidenced by their 3.3 rpg average. JHOULYS CHACIN (1-1) gets the start tonight for the Brewers. Chacin has started four games and has a 4.18 ERA and 1.732 WHIP. After a rough start, Chacin has put together two excellent starts, allowing just one run over 10 innings. Jason Hammel will start for the Royals. Hammel is 0-1 in his four starts and has a 3.20 ERA. Hammel has pitched well enough, but the Royals can't score runs. In his four starts (all losses by the Royals), they have scored a total of eight runs. Brewers just too good right now to pass on here today. Take Milwaukee. |
|||||||
04-25-18 | Cubs +116 v. Indians | 1-4 | Loss | -100 | 6 h 10 m | Show
The Chicago Cubs have improved to 11-9 after winning two straight games. They have been hitting the ball very well, averaging 6.0 rpg this season. Can't say the same for the Indians who average just 3.5 rpg. Still, the Indians are 12-9 on the season in large part due to their pitching staff. Trevor Bauer starts tonight for the Tribe with a 1-2 record, 2-67 ERA and 1.11 WHIP. Bauer has pitched well in all four of his starts, he just hasn't received much support other than one game. Jon Lester starts for the Cubs with a 2-0 record (Cubs 4-0 in his four starts). Lester has a 3.10 ERA and 1.328 WHIP and is coming off a fine start where he allowed just one run over six innings in his win over the Cardinals. Getting the Cubs as a small dog here has a lot of value. Play the Cubs. |
|||||||
04-25-18 | Tigers +150 v. Pirates | 3-8 | Loss | -100 | 6 h 5 m | Show
(Game 2) The Tigers dropped below .500 to 9-11 and will look to get back on the winning track today. Detroit has averaged 4.7 rpg, but allowed 4.5. Matt Boyd starts today for the Tigers in game two. Boyd has pitched well in his three starts, allowing just one run in each game for a 1.40 ERA and 0.673 ERA. The Bucs will counter with Chad Kuhl who is 2-1 on the year with a 4.57 ERA and 1.615 WHIP. Kind of surprised the Tigers are such a big dog with Boyd on the hill. He's been very good and makes Detroit a very live dog here. I'm taking the Tigers with Boyd |
|||||||
04-25-18 | Braves +100 v. Reds | 5-4 | Win | 100 | 6 h 41 m | Show
Surprisingly the Braves have lost the first two games of their series to the Reds and have dropped to 12-10 on the season. This is surprising because the Reds are just 5-18 on the year and hadn't won back-to-back games all season. The Reds bullpen has been terrible, posting a 5.38 ERA and a 1.488 WHIP. Brandon Finnegan gets the start for Cincy with a 0-2 record in his two starts with a 11.05 ERA and 2.592 WHIP. The Braves turn to Matt Wisler who is 1-0 in his only start with a 1.29 ERA and 0.286 WHIP. While it's too soon to know if Wisler is as good as his first start, I think Finnegan is as bad as his starts reflect. Don't see the Braves losing three straight to this Reds team. Take Atlanta. |
|||||||
04-25-18 | Padres +152 v. Rockies | 2-5 | Loss | -100 | 2 h 11 m | Show
The San Diego Padres are 9-16 on the season and are coming off a loss on Tuesday to the Rockies, 0-8. They have split the first two games of this series, taking game one and losing game two. Tyson Ross has pitched very well for the Padres, posting a 2-1 record in his four starts with a 2.80 ERA and 1.013 WHIP. He's allowed just one run over his last 13 2/3 innings with four walks and 15 KO's. The Rockies improved to 13-12 with Tuesday's win. They look to Jon Gray to keep them above .500 today. Gray has struggled in his five starts, posting a 1-4 record with a 6.75 ERA and 1.650 WHIP. Gray has allowed 12 runs over his last 10 2.3 innings. Padres a pretty good size dog here today with a good pitcher on the hill. The way Gray has struggled, I like the dog price with the Padres. |
|||||||
04-24-18 | Braves -115 v. Reds | 7-9 | Loss | -115 | 6 h 25 m | Show
The Braves saw their record drop to 12-9 after their loss on Monday to the Reds, 4-10. The Braves gave the Reds a rare win, as Cincinnati is just 4-18 on the season. The Reds average just 3.2 rpg, which went up after their biggest outburst of the season on Monday. The Reds snapped a five game losing streak with their win on Monday. The bullpen has been bad, posting a 1-5 record, 5.33 ERA and 1.474 WHIP. Tyler Mahle starts tonight for the Reds with a 1-3 record in his four starts. The Braves counter with Brandon McCarthy who is 3-0 in his four starts with a nice 2.91 ERA and 1.293 WHIP. McCarthy has been excellent in all four starts, allowing just six total runs over 21 2/3 innings. The Braves lost on Monday, but I can't see the hapless Reds producing what they did against McCarthy here on Tuesday. Take the Braves. |
|||||||
04-23-18 | Braves -125 v. Reds | Top | 4-10 | Loss | -125 | 9 h 28 m | Show |
The Atlanta Braves look to improve on their 12-8 record when they travel to Cincinnati to take on the Reds. The Reds have been in a horrible slump, posting a 3-17 record and losing four straight to the Cardinals. The Reds average just 3.0 rpg while allowing 5.4 rpg. The Braves have done well, averaging 5.6 rpg and allowing 3.9. The Braves took two of three from the Mets including Sunday's 4-3 win. The Reds have won just one of their last 13 games. The bullpen hasn't been good, allowing 4.76 ERA and 1.443 WHIP. At home the Reds pen has a 6.75 ERA and 1.714 WHIP. Luis Castillo starts for the Reds and is 1-2 in his four starts. Castillo has a 6.75 ERA and 1.279 WHIP. The Braves will start Brandon McCarthy, who is 3-0 in his four starts with a 2.91 ERA and 1.293 ERA. McCarthy has allowed just two earned runs over his last 10.1 innings. Laying a buck-thirty with the Braves seems like opening a present on Christmas day. The Reds are terrible and their pitching isn't any better. Play the Braves. |
|||||||
04-22-18 | Padres v. Diamondbacks UNDER 7 | 2-4 | Win | 100 | 6 h 33 m | Show
Arizona off to a excellent start at 14-6. The D'backs have seen four of their last five games go under with one push. Part of this under run has been do to an excellent pitching staff and a bullpen that has a 2.09 ERA and 1.058 WHIP. One of those pitchers is Pat Corbin, who is 3-0 in his three starts with a 1.65 ERA and 0.695 WHIP. Corbin is coming off a complete game shutout of the Giants where he allowed just one hit. In fact, in his three starts, Corbin has allowed just one hit twice. The Padres will find runs tough today against Corbin as they average just 3.7 rpg on the season. A bright spot for the Padres has been starter Joe Lucchesi, who is 2-0 in his three starts with a 1.66 ERA and 0.969 WHIP. Lucchesi has allowed just three total runs in his 17 innings of work. In addition, he has 24 KO's against just four walks. This one should be a good old fashioned pitcher's duel. Take the UNDER. |
|||||||
04-22-18 | Astros -1.5 v. White Sox | 7-1 | Win | 100 | 4 h 50 m | Show
After a lull where the Astros struggled to score some runs, they seem to be back to their winning ways. Houston has won five straight games and is now 15-7 on the season. The Astros pitching has been great, allowing two runs or less in each of their last six games. In fact, they have outscored the White Sox 20-1 the last two games. Lance McCullers is 2-1 and will start today for the Astros. McCullers has a 5.57 ERA and 1.429 WHIP. He is coming off his best start of the season, allowing just one run and one hit over seven innings to the Mariners. Meanwhile, it's been a terrible start for the White Sox who are 4-13 and lost six straight games. Reynaldo Lopez starts today for the Sox and is 0-2 with a 1.42 ERA and 1.00 WHIP. Lopez has pitched well, going at least six innings in each of his three starts and allowing two runs or less. Unfortunately, Lopez has received just three total runs of support. I'm going to lay the 1.5 runs here today with the Astros who should roll again on Sunday. |
|||||||
04-21-18 | Mariners v. Rangers UNDER 9 | 9-7 | Loss | -108 | 10 h 2 m | Show
Both of these clubs have had their issues scoring runs this season, with the Mariners averaging just 4.1 rpg and the Rangers just 3.3 rpg. The Rangers are 7-14 and have lost two straight games, scoring just four runs in those two losses. Seattle exploded for six runs in their win at Texas on Friday. That ended a five game streak where the M's scored two runs or one run in each of those five games. James Paxton will start today for the M's with a 4.57 ERA and 1.292 WHIP. Paxton is coming off two quality starts where he's allowed just three runs over 12 innings. Forty-four year old Bartolo Colon will go today for the Rangers. Colon took a perfect game into the eighth inning in his last start vs the Astros. However, he lost the perfect, no hitter and shutout all in the eighth. And, while Colon didn't get the decision, his team did get the win, 3-1. Colon has now allowed just two earned runs over his last 13 2/3 innings with two walks and 11 KO's. I'm taking the under here tonight as both these teams struggle to get runs and Colon looks ageless so far this season. Play UNDER. |
|||||||
04-21-18 | Indians -1.5 v. Orioles | 4-0 | Win | 100 | 6 h 2 m | Show
Cleveland Indians look to snap a two game losing streak tonight at a reeling Baltimore. The Indians haven't scored well, but they aren't giving up much either. Cleveland averages just 3.4 rpg while allowing just 3.0 rpg. Baltimore did win last game, but they are still just 6-14 on the season. This is in thanks to a terrible pitching staff that has allowed an average of 5.5 runs per game. Mike Clevinger starts today for the Tribe. Clevinger is 1-0 in his three starts with a 2.70 ERA and 1.381 WHIP. Chris Tillman looks for his first win for the O's in four starts. Tillman has allowed 15 runs in just 11 2/3 innings this year. Tillman has a 11.92 ERA with a 2.824 WHIP. I'm going to lay the run line here today with the Indians as I go against Tillman who has been horrible. The O's are not supporting their pitchers either, so don't expect them to get much here tonight. Play Cleveland -1.5 runs. |
|||||||
04-20-18 | Cubs +103 v. Rockies | 16-5 | Win | 103 | 8 h 37 m | Show
The Chicago Cubs can improve to one game over .500 today with a win at Colorado. The Cubs won on Thursday and now average 5.2 rpg while allowing 4.3 rpg. Kyle Hendricks looking for his first win this season in his fourth start. Hendricks has had two quality starts out of his three, but nothing yet to show for them. He's coming off a loss at Pittsburgh where he allowed two runs over six innings. Hendricks has a 3.71 ERA and 1.471 WHIP this season. The Rockies are 11-9 and lost on Wednesday to the Pirates, 2-10. The loss snapped a three game win streak for the Rockies. Jon Gray will toe the rubber for the Rockies today. Gray is 1-3 on the season in his four starts with just one quality start. Gray was roughed-up for five runs over 5 2/3 innings last time out at Washington. Gray has now allowed 12 earned runs over his last 10 2/3 innings. Cubs a small dog here has plenty of value with the better pitcher on the hill. I'm taking Chicago. |
|||||||
04-20-18 | Twins +117 v. Rays | 7-8 | Loss | -100 | 6 h 7 m | Show
Minnesota looks to improve to 9-5 tonight against a reeling Tampa Bay squad that is just 5-13 on the season. The Twins are allowing just 3.4 rpg this season compared to the 5.2 average of the Rays. Lance Lynn looks for his first win after two starts. Lynn is coming off a five inning start where he allowed no runs and just three hits. Lynn's ERA is now 5.00 and his WHIP 1.778. Tampa Bay has won two of their last three games, which shows some improvement. Chris Archer has four starts this season and is 1-1 with a 7.84 ERA and 1.693 WHIP. Archer allowed seven earned runs over four innings in his last start at Philadelphia. Archer has yet to pitch a quality start for the Rays this year. Tampa Bay is a small favorite here, which I find difficult to justify with a very cold pitcher on the hill and a team that is eight games below .500. I'll take the Twins and the small dog price here against a poor Rays club. Play Minnesota. |
|||||||
04-20-18 | Blue Jays +173 v. Yankees | 8-5 | Win | 173 | 6 h 2 m | Show
Toronto off to a red-hot start this season with a 12-6 record. The Jays lost their opener with the Yankees on Thursday, 3-4, snapping a four game win streak. The Jays will turn to Marco Estrada for game two here on Friday. Estrada is 1-1 in his three starts with two quality starts. Estrada has a 4.24 ERA and 1.294 WHIP. The Yankees improved to one game over .500 with their win on Thursday. They look to keep the momentum going today behind Sonny Gray. Gray is 1-1 in his three starts with just one quality start. Gray is coming off his worst outing where he allowed six runs over just three innings to the Red Sox for the loss. Gray has had some control issues, allowing seven walks in 13 innings. This has contributed to his high 1.923 WHIP to go with a high 6.92 ERA. Both these clubs scoring well, as the Jays average 5.9 rpg and the Yankees are at 5.5. However, it's pitching where these teams differ as the Jays hold opponents to just 3.8 rpg and the Yankees allow 5.3. I see lots of value here tonight with the Jays and the better pitcher on the hill. The Jays are a huge dog here and I don't believe Gray has played any where near that level to award him that kind of price. I'm taking the value and the big dog with Toronto. |
|||||||
04-18-18 | Indians v. Twins UNDER 7.5 | 1-2 | Win | 104 | 8 h 53 m | Show
Cleveland and Minnesota both have winning records, though neither is red-hot. The Indians are 9-6 after their win over the Twins on Tuesday. The Tribe will send their hottest pitcher to the hill today in the person of Carlos Carrasco. Carrasco is 3-0 with two quality starts, a 3.48 ERA and 0.871 WHIP. Carrasco is coming off a win over the Tigers where he went a full nine innings, threw just three hits and gave up one run. The Twins will counter with Jose Berrios. Berrios is 2-1 in his three starts and is coming off a nice win over the White Sox where he went seven innings and allowed no runs. Berrios has a 2.18 ERA and 0.629 WHIP. He's also walked just one batter in his 20.2 innings of work. I like both these pitchers and think this one is going to be low scoring. Take the UNDER. |
|||||||
04-18-18 | Orioles v. Tigers +115 | 5-6 | Win | 115 | 2 h 53 m | Show
Two teams in desperate need of a winning streak matchup here this morning. The Orioles are just 5-12 on the season and losers of four straight games. The Tigers are 5-9 on the season and on a one game win streak after beating the Orioles on Tuesday. Kevin Gausman starts for the O's with a 6.60 ERA and 1.60 WHIP. Gausman has three starts and just one of these were quality. Matt Boyd will toe the rubber for the Tigers. Boyd is 0-2 with a 1.38 ERA and 0.615 WHIP. Both of Boyd's starts were quality but he had nothing to show for them but losses. Boyd has allowed just two total earned runs over 13 innings. Bad luck has plagued Boyd, but not today as he's facing a team that right now is worse than the Tigers. Play Detroit. |
|||||||
04-17-18 | Nationals -113 v. Mets | 5-2 | Win | 100 | 9 h 40 m | Show
The Nationals opened their series with the Mets with a nice win on Monday, 8-6 as a big dog. The Nationals have now won two of their last three games, but still are just 8-9 on the season. They will turn to Gio Gonzalez today who is 1-1 on the season in his three starts. Gonzalez has a 2.20 ERA with a 1.408 WHIP. The Mets are 12-3 on the season and dropped a rare game on Monday to the Nationals. Zack Wheeler will toe the rubber today for the Mets. Wheeler is 1-0 in his only start where he went seven innings and allowed just two hits and one eared run for the win. The Nationals were projected to win their division, but certainly have not played up to those expectations thus far. The Mets may have seen their red-hot bubble burst as they have lost two of their last three games, allowing 13 runs in those two losses. I like the Nationals today as I expect to play more like the team everyone thought they would be prior to the start of the season. Take the Nationals. |

04-17-18 | Indians v. Twins +176 | 6-1 | Loss | -100 | 3 h 46 m | Show
When looking for winners in BB, i find it best to try and find value. that can be done many different way betting BB. Run lines Totals, First 5, team totals and team totals F5, This play is not all that complicated. We are making a value play on a team that is playing well with pitcher that is also playing well. Yes we are going against the very good team and pitcher. That is why we have a home dog getting a big price. But in today's BB we know that starting pitchers are not the whole story. With so many games going to the relief pitchers early in the game, there are good opportunities to grab inflated lines. On his last start at home Odorizzi beat the Champ Astros going 6 innings and giving up 1 er. That's enough for me to grab this big price. Take Minnesota |
|||||||
04-16-18 | Astros v. Mariners +105 | 1-2 | Win | 105 | 8 h 57 m | Show
The Houston Astros have struggled lately. They were on the bad end of a perfect game through 7 innings on Sunday against 44 year old Roberto Colon. They finally broke through in the 8th with a hit and run, but still lost the game to the Rangers, 3-1. It was their second straight loss to their rivals from the South. The Astros will start Dallas Keuchel today. Keuchel is 0-2 in his three starts with a 4.20 ERA and 1.80 WHIP. The Mariners have improved to 8-5 though they had their four game win streak snapped on Sunday, 1-2 to the A's. James Paxton is 0-1 in his three starts with a 5.74 ERA and 1.404 WHIP. Paxton had a shaky first start of the season, allowing six runs over just 4 2/3 innings. However, since then he's allowed just four total runs over 11 innings with two walks and 17 KO's. I like the home dog here today. The Astros have been struggling and Paxton has improved after that first start. Value here on the home dog. Play Seattle. |
|||||||
04-16-18 | Reds v. Brewers -128 | 10-4 | Loss | -128 | 5 h 27 m | Show
The Cincinnati Reds off to a horrid start this season, winning just 2 and losing 13. In addition, the Reds have lost eight straight games. They have just a 2.9 rpg average while allowing a whopping 6.1 rpg. Luis Castillo is 0-2 in his three starts with a 7.31 ERA and 1.313 WHIP. The Brewers dropped to 8-8 after Sunday's loss. They will look to get healthy again in this series with the Reds. Brent Suter is 1-1 for the Brew-crew in his three starts, with a 4.70 ERA and 1.435 WHIP. Suter is coming off a very good start at St Louis where he allowed just one run over 5 1/3 innings. Short line tonight for such a bad team like the Reds. I'm taking the home club and laying that short price. Play the Brewers. |
|||||||
04-16-18 | Rockies v. Pirates -127 | 6-2 | Loss | -127 | 5 h 52 m | Show
The Pittsburgh Pirates have been one of the surprise teams thus far, with their 11-4 record. The Pirates have also won two straight and have been hitting the ball well, evidenced by their 5.8 runs per game. Today they face a Colorado team that is averaging just 3.9 rpg while allowing 4.5 rpg. The Bucs will start Seven Brault. Brault is 1-0 in his two starts, allowing 4.50 ERA and 1.60 WHIP. Colorado is 9-8 on the season, despite their heavy negative run differential. The Rockies start German Marquez who is 0-1 in his three starts with a 4.97 ERA and 1.736 WHIP. Marquez has had control issues, allowing 10 walks to go against his 10 KO's. I'm taking the Pirates today who have been outstanding this year. Play Pittsburgh. |
|||||||
04-15-18 | Rangers v. Astros UNDER 8.5 | 3-1 | Win | 100 | 9 h 47 m | Show
The struggling Texas Rangers found a way to overcome a 0-5 deficit on Saturday and beat their rivals from the South, 6-5 in extra innings. They will try to do something they haven't had much success at this year, winning two straight. Much traveled veteran Bartolo Colon will start for the Rangers. Colon has one start, a 3-1 loss to the A's where he allowed seven hits and just one run over six innings. After a red-hot start, the Astros have cooled down a bit, but still are a nice 10-5 on the season. Their pitching has been outstanding, allowing just 3.1 runs per game this year. That's why the Astros have seen just five of their 15 games go over. World Series MVP Justin Verlander goes for his third win tonight. Verlander is 2-0 with a 1.45 ERA and 0.96 |
|||||||
04-15-18 | Diamondbacks +197 v. Dodgers | 2-7 | Loss | -100 | 5 h 51 m | Show
The first place Arizona D'backs are off to a 11-3 start to the season and have won three straight games. Their pitching staff has allowed just 3.1 runs per game this year. Zach Godley has been tops for the D'backs, going 2-0 in his two starts with a 0.64 ERA and 0.643 WHIP. Godley has allowed just eight total his in his 14 innings, walked just one and struck out 12. In addition, Godley has already beaten Clayton Kershaw in their previous matchup this month. The Dodgers have struggled, posting just a 4-9 record and losing three straight. The offense, which was so good last year has struggled this year with just 3.6 runs per game. Clayton Kershaw has three starts and is 0-2 with a 1.89 ERA and 1.105 WHIP. While Kersaw has been good, he's not been as dominant as year's past. Once again Kershaw and the Dodgers are a 200+ favorite. I see tons of value with the D'backs here as they are hot and have one of the best pitchers so far in baseball on the hill. Take the nice dog price with the D'backs. |
|||||||
04-15-18 | Giants v. Padres -115 | 1-10 | Win | 100 | 5 h 51 m | Show
Both the Giants and the Padres have just six wins to start the season, however, the Padres have taken the first two in this series against San Francisco. Both teams struggling with the bats, with the Giants averaging just 3.2 rpg and the Padres at 3.5 rpg. The Giants start Tyler Beede here today. Beede is 0-0 in his only start, where he went four innings allowing two runs but five walks and three strikeouts. Beede struggled with his control in that first start. The Padres will start Joey Lucchesi. Lucchesi is 1-0 in his three starts with a nice 1.72 ERA and 1.021 WHIP. Lucchesi has allowed just 12 total hits over 15 2/3 innings with three earned runs. Padres go for the sweep here today and I like them to do just that. Play the Padres. |
|||||||
04-14-18 | Brewers v. Mets -112 | Top | 5-1 | Loss | -112 | 9 h 4 m | Show |
The red-hot NY Mets continue to win, now 11-1 on the season after their win over the Brewers on Friday. The Mets are averaging 5.1 runs per game and allowing just 3.0 runs per game. Matt Harvey starts today for the Mets with a 0-0 record but the team has won both of his starts thus far. Harvey has a 3.60 ERA and 1.20 WHIP. The Brewers dropped to 7-7 with yesterday's loss. They are averaging only 3.5 runs per game while allowing 4.6. Chase Anderson will toe the rubber for the Brew-Crew with a 0-1 record in his three starts. The Brewers are 2-1 in his starts. Anderson has a 3.38 ERA and a 1.125 WHIP. This one should be a very good pitcher's duel as both hurlers are off to a good start. However, with the Brewers struggling to score runs and the Mets red-hot, I like this small price on the New Yorkers today. I'm playing the Mets. |
|||||||
04-14-18 | Phillies v. Rays OVER 7 | 9-4 | Win | 100 | 8 h 3 m | Show
The only IL game on tap today has the TB Rays hosting the Philadelphia Phillies. Tampa Bay not off to a good start with just a 3-10 record and losers of two straight. The Rays average just 3.1 rpg but allow 4.8 runs per game. They will turn to Chris Archer today. Archer will start his fourth game and has a 1-0 record with a 5.94 ERA and 1.50 WHIP. Archer has not pitched well, but has received at least four runs of support in each start. The Phillies have won four straight games and are averaging 5.0 runs per game while allowing 4.2 rpg. Jake Arrieta will get the start for Philly. Arrieta has just one start this season and that was at Miami where he only went four innings and allowed three runs. Arrieta not looking so far like the pitcher he was a few years ago with the Cubs. Neither pitcher is all that good so far and I'm a bit surprised with such a low total considering the Phillies can score decent runs. I'm taking the OVER here today. |
|||||||
04-13-18 | Rangers v. Astros -1.5 | Top | 2-3 | Loss | -118 | 9 h 43 m | Show |
The Texas Rangers hope they wake up from the nightmare that is currently the 2018 season. The Rangers are last in the AL West with a 4-10 record and have lost four straight and seven of the last 10. They have allowed 77 runs (worst in AL and 2nd worst in MLB). Now they have lost shorstop Elvis Andrus with a broken right elbow who will be out six to eight weeks. The pitching staff is horrible, 27th in ERA (4.94), 30th in WHIP (1.54) and 30th in BAA (.285). The Astros are 9-4 and have dropped to 2nd in the AL West, 1.5 games back of the Angels. Cole Hamels will make his fourth start, posting a 1-2 record with a 1.63 WHIP and 5.06 ERA. Gerrit Cole will toe the rubber for the Astros. Cole has been excellent in his two starts,going 7 innings in each start, allowing just one earned run and seven hits. Cole is 1-0 with a 0.64 ERA and 0.71 WHIP. SO much difference in these teams here tonight. Astros should have very little issue with their instate rivals. Lay the 1.5 runs with the Astros. |
|||||||
04-13-18 | Brewers v. Mets -116 | 5-6 | Win | 100 | 8 h 43 m | Show
The New York Mets off to the best start in baseball at 10-1, winners of eight straight games. The Mets have the best ERA in baseball right now at 2.47 and are 1st in batting average allowed (.204) and 3rd in WHIP (1.10). Their hitting isn't as dominant, but still decent with 55 runs (14th), .240 BA (11th) and .341 on base percentage (3rd). The Brewers are 7-6 on the season, 2nd in the Central division. The one big issue for the Brewers is that they have a -15 run differential this year. Their pitching doesn't rank any better than 17th while hitting ranks in the 20's in the league. Zach Davies makes his third start of the year, allowing seven runs and 12 hits over 11.2 innings. Davies has a 5.40 ERA and 1.29 WHIP. Steven Matz also making his third start with a 3.00 ERA and 1.33 WHIP. Matz is coming off a fine start where he went five innings, allowed three hits and no earned runs. A little surprised that Mets are such a short favorite here tonight at home. I'm taking the hottest team in baseball, the Mets. |
|||||||
04-12-18 | Pirates v. Cubs OVER 8 | 6-1 | Loss | -105 | 3 h 3 m | Show
Looks like a fair day in Chicago as the Pirates and Cubs faceoff. The weather will be in the upper 50's at game time and the slight chance of showers will hold off until tonight. The wind is blowing out to left field though at almost 14mph and that's always an important factor here in Wrigley. The Cubs are 2nd in the NL Central, two games back of the Pirates. Their offense is top 10, as they sit 10th in BA at .244 and 11th at runs with 57. The league leading Pirates are 8-3 on the season and have scored the second most runs in baseball with 71. They are 2nd in BA with .282 and 1st in on base percentage with a .352 average. This game has two of the best offenses and the wind blowing out. I don't think it matters much which pitchers are on the hill. Play the OVER. |
|||||||
04-11-18 | Angels -103 v. Rangers | 7-2 | Win | 100 | 8 h 32 m | Show
The LA Angels are tied for first place in the American League West with the Houston Astros at 9-3. The Angels have won three straight games and eight of their last 10. Jaime Barria will get the start today for the Angels. Barria will be making his major league debut at the age of 21. It's been a quick ascent for the Panamanian pitcher, going from single A, to double AA and then AAA Salt Lake all last year. Barria was rated the #7 MLB prospect. The Texas Rangers are not off to a good start at just 4-9 on the season and losers of three straight. Matt Moore will try to get on track tonight for the Rangers. Moore has two starts with a 0-2 record, 11.05 ERA and 2.18 WHIP. Moore has pitched 7.1 innings and allowed nine earned runs. This is the perfect spot and team for the Angels to debut Barria. I like this first time starter here today against a reeling Rangers club. Play the Angels. |
|||||||
04-11-18 | Blue Jays +104 v. Orioles | 3-5 | Loss | -100 | 7 h 32 m | Show
The Toronto Blue Jays are off to a nice start this season with a 8-4 record and in 2nd place in the AL East. The Jays have won three straight and eight of the last 10 games. The Baltimore Orioles are 4-8 and now six back in the East having lost two straight and seven of 10. Marco Estrada gets the start for the Jays. Estrada is 1-0 in his two starts with a 2.77 ERA and a 1.00 WHIP. Estrada has pitched 13 innings, allowed nine hits and allowed just four earned runs with four walks and nine strike outs. Kevin Gausman will toe the rubber for the O's. Gausman is 0-1 in his two starts with a 8.00 ERA and 1.67 WHIP. Guasman pitched much better in his second start, allowing two runs over five innings with five hits. Still, the Jays are the better team right now with the better pitcher on the hill. Moreover, we're even getting a slight dog price with the Jays. I'm taking Toronto. |
|||||||
04-10-18 | Angels -135 v. Rangers | 11-1 | Win | 100 | 7 h 40 m | Show
The Los Angeles Angels are off to a good start this season at 8-3. They trail the first place Houston Astros buy just one game. The Angels are first in baseball in runs scored with 68 and 2nd in batting average at .270 and fourth in slugging percentage at .464. The Texas Rangers are currently last in the American League West, 5 1/2 games back of the Houston Astros. The Rangers pitching staff has not been good allowing a league-high 59 runs this season. Martin Perez will get the second start for the Rangers, after going 5 1/3 innings in his last outing at Oakland allowing 10 hits and 3 runs to get the win. Perez is 1-0 on the season with a 5.06 ERA and a 1.88 whip. Tyler Skaggs will get the start for the Angels. He is 1-0 on the season after 2 starts allowing just 1.64 earned runs per game and a whip of 0.91. Skaggs has gone 11 Innings and has allowed just two earned runs and two walks while striking out 10. Play the Angels tonight. |
|||||||
04-10-18 | Mets -1.5 v. Marlins | 8-6 | Win | 100 | 6 h 46 m | Show
The New York Mets are one of the hottest teams in baseball, out to an 8-1 start on the season - they've also won six straight games and they are perfect 4-0 on the road. They just recently swept a very good Washington Nationals team, 4-0. Now, they take on the last-place Miami Marlins, who are 3-7 on the season. The Mets will start Jacob deGrom. deGrom is 2-0 with a 1.54 era and a 1.03 whip. In his 2 starts, deGrom has allowed just eight total hits over 11 and 2/3 Innings and two earned runs. The Marlins will counter with Caleb Smith. Smith has two starts and he's coming off of a loss at Philadelphia where he went just three innings, allowing three runs and walking six. In fact walks have been tough on Smith this year as he's allowed nine free passes. The Mets are 9-3 in deGrom's last 12 Road starts. I like the red hot Mets here minus the run and a half over the Miami Marlins. |
|||||||
04-09-18 | Padres v. Rockies UNDER 9.5 | 7-6 | Loss | -105 | 5 h 20 m | Show
A pair of National League West teams face off tonight in Colorado as the Rockies host the Padres. The Rockies are off to a 5-5 start while the Padres are just 2-8 on the season and in last place in the National League West. The Padres will start Clayton Richard today. Richard is make making his third start of the season, with a 4.50 era and 1.50 WHIP. Jon Gray will be making the start for the Rockies. Gray is 1-1 with a 2.40 ERA and a 1.18 WHIP. Gray is coming off an excellent start at San Diego allowing just four hits and no earned runs in seven innings for the win. Padres offense has not been good this year. They are tied for 23rd in baseball with just 30 runs scored and they are 24th in baseball in batting average with a .221 average. The Padres are coming off a three-game road swing at Houston where they scored just six total runs. The Rockies have actually been a very good under team at Mile High Stadium going 8-21 over-under in their last 29 home games. I look for Gray to be able to hold down this anemic Padres offense tonight as this game goes under the total. |
|||||||
04-09-18 | Astros -1.5 v. Twins | 2-0 | Win | 105 | 5 h 51 m | Show
A couple of first-place division teams match up here on Monday as the Central leading Minnesota Twins face the West leading Houston Astros. The Twins are 4-3 to start the season while the Houston Astros are a nice 8-2. World Series MVP Justin Verlander makes his third start of the season today. Verlander is 1-0 on the season with a 2.31 era and a 1.11 WHIP. In addition Verlander has struck out 14 and walked just three on the season. Lance Lynn will make the start tonight for the Twins, Lynn has just one start this season for the Twins and that was jus four Innings where he allowed five runs, walked 6 batters and struck out just three. Lynn had lots of control problems in his first outing and that resulted in a 2.25 WHIP and 11.25 ERA. The Astros looked to be one of the best teams again this year in the major leagues and tonight I'm going to take Verlander minus the run and a half over the Twins. |
|||||||
04-08-18 | Mets v. Nationals UNDER 8 | 6-5 | Loss | -103 | 9 h 9 m | Show
It's Sunday Night Baseball as the New York Mets take on the Washington Nationals. The Mets are off to a very fast start going 6-1 to start the season including winning 4 games in a row. The Mets pitching has been outstanding allowing just 17 total runs in their 7 games, that is tops in the National League. The Nationals are 4-4, having lost four straight after starting the season 4-0. The Mets will start Matt Harvey. Harvey was brilliant in his first start of the season going five innings, allowing just one hit and no earned runs, striking out five and walking just one batter. Tanner Roark will start for the Nationals, he also had a very good opening day start going seven Innings, allowing four hits and just one earned runs in the team's win over Atlanta Braves 8-1. Roark has a 0.71 WHIP and a 1.29 ERA. Tonight's game should be a nice pitchers duel with runs coming at a premium. I'm taking the UNDER here tonight. |
|||||||
04-07-18 | Reds v. Pirates -122 | 7-4 | Loss | -122 | 8 h 51 m | Show
It's the penthouse against the outhouse today in the National League Central Division as the first place Pittsburgh Pirates take on the last place Cincinnati Reds. The Pirates are 6-1 to start the season. The Pirates have been hot with the bats hitting .282, that's second in baseball and scoring 49 runs for third in the majors. The Reds have not been good with the bats, scoring just 18 runs in their 1-5 start and giving up 40 runs on the season. They are ranked near the bottom of all offensive stats. Sal Romano makes his second start of the season for the Reds. Romano lost his opening game, going six Innings and allowing three earned runs against the Washington Nationals. The Pirates will counter with Chad Kuhl, who in his only start allowed four earned runs over 5 2/3 innings to get the win vs the Detroit Tigers. While I think Romano got the better first start, I can't go against the hot hitting Pirates and their bats today. I'm taking the Pirates. |
|||||||
04-06-18 | Orioles v. Yankees OVER 9 | 7-3 | Win | 100 | 7 h 12 m | Show
The Baltimore Orioles look to improve on their 2-5 record as they play the New York Yankees today the Orioles have scored just 19 runs and seven games but they've allowed 36 runs. They have the largest run differential at - 17 in the American League. The New York Yankees are 4-3 to start the season after losing their last game 5 - 2 to the Orioles. Kevin Gausman makes just his second start of the Season tonight. Gausman went just 4 Innings giving up seven hits and six earned runs including three home runs in his loss to the twins 0-7. CC Sabathia gets the start tonight for the Yankees. Sabathia had a decent start his first game going just five innings, allowing five hits and two runs to the Blue Jays in the 3-5 loss. This series has been a big over play the last 26 games, these teams have gone over 20 times and under just six in those meetings. In addition, the over is 14-3 in their last 17 meetings at the New York Yankees. I like the total here today, play the over. |
|||||||
04-05-18 | Mariners v. Twins +109 | 2-4 | Win | 109 | 3 h 41 m | Show
The Minnesota Twins have started the season well, off to a 3-2 start and tied for first place in the American League Central. Seattle is also 3-2 and they are in third place in the American League West. Unfortunately, they are in the division with Houston Astros who is already 6-1 to start the season. James Paxton starts today for Seattle, in his one start so far this year he had a pretty rough outing, giving up six runs in just 4 and 2/3 innings for an 11.57 era and 2.14 whip. Conversely, Kyle Gibson gets the start for the twins today. In his first start at Baltimore he pitched a brilliant six Innings giving up no runs and no hits to the Orioles for the victory. While the twins didn't get the no-hitter Gibson looked quite good in his opening start. I like the Twins here today with Gibson on the hill. Play the Twins |
|||||||
04-03-18 | Orioles v. Astros -1.5 | Top | 6-10 | Win | 100 | 9 h 32 m | Show |
Houston -1.5 Runs. The Houston Astros are already out to a good season at 4-1 winning three straight games. After losing their second game of the season to the Rangers the Astros have won three straight scoring 23 runs and allowing just six. World Series MVP Justin Verlander makes his second start of the season. Verlander went six innings in his opening start, allowing four hits and no earned runs for the win. Baltimore counters with righthander Mike Wright. Wright has a career 5.86 ERA and 1.45 WHIP in 21 starts and 43 games. This will be Wright's first start of the season. I don't see the O's getting much here today against Verlander, who looks like he's already in the same form we saw from him last year. I'l lay the run and a half with the Astros. |
|||||||
04-02-18 | Orioles v. Astros -1.5 | 1-6 | Win | 100 | 5 h 48 m | Show
Astros -1.5 Runs. I am not confident that i will see much from Tillman here vs the Astro's. He did not show very well in spring training and i dont see him holding up well vs the Astro's Big bats in their first home game off becoming THE CHAMPS last year. Should be an emotional envirorment tonight. Morton is not one of the top Astro's hurlers but he should show well for 4 or five innings and the bullpen will be glad to shut down the O's. Take Houston -1.5 runs. |
|||||||
04-02-18 | Cardinals v. Brewers -112 | 8-4 | Loss | -112 | 2 h 7 m | Show
The Milwaukee Brewers try to stay perfect on the young MLB season today as they try for 4-0! The Brewers have scored 17 runs in their three games and allowed 10 runs. They play a St Louis team that is just 1-2 in their first three games, scoring 11 runs and allowing 16. Miles Mikolas toes the rubber for the birds, with a 4-6 lifetime record and 5.32 ERA. Mikolas has pitched extensively in Japan where he established a 31-13 record over three seasons. Zach Davies gets the nod for the Brewers. Davies has a 31-18 record with a 3.91 ERA and 1.30 WHIP. Davies gets the home opener for the Brewers here today. Davies had a oblique injury in spring, but came back with just one run in 8.1 innings. Brewers with Davies is the way to go here today. Play Milwaukee. |
|||||||
04-01-18 | Angels v. A's OVER 8.5 | 7-4 | Win | 100 | 4 h 56 m | Show
The Angels and A's finish up their four game set today as the Angels look to take three of the four games. The Angels lost the opening game, but have taken the last two. The Angels will start Shohei Ohtani who will be making his major league debut. The Japanese hurler is just 23-years old and is 6-foot-3. Ohtani is called "Japan's Babe Ruth" and possesses both offensive and pitching skills. Ohtani had a 2.52 ERA with a 1.08 WHIP in Japan and was the Japan league's MVP in 2016. Daniel Gossett will start for the A's. Gossett has 18 career starts with a 6.11 ERA and 1.61 WHIP. The Angels haven't had too much trouble scoring in this series, with 16 runs over their first three games. I like this game to go OVER. |
|||||||
03-31-18 | White Sox +101 v. Royals | 4-3 | Win | 101 | 5 h 16 m | Show
Saturday night at Kauffman Stadium, and the Sox hope his year of growth shines through. "He's still a young kid, still has not made a ton of starts at the big-league level," Sox general manager Rick Hahn said. "He's looking more and more like the kind of guy we projected him to be, which is a stalwart in the rotation going forward." Giolito finished his six-week stint in the majors with a 2.38 ERA, striking out 34 and giving up just 31 hits with 12 walks in 45 1/3 innings. That was leaps and bounds better than the 6.75 ERA he recorded over six outings with the Nationals in 2016. He continued to impress this spring with a 2.04 ERA, striking out 17 with four walks over four Cactus League starts. Giolito said he was able to throw his curveball more for strikes and improve the shape of the pitch. Hahn said his curveball playing well even in the Arizona air makes the Sox optimistic about how effective the pitch will be out of the desert. Take the White Sox this evening. |
|||||||
03-31-18 | Yankees v. Blue Jays OVER 9.5 | 3-5 | Loss | -100 | 5 h 55 m | Show
Going against too over the hill hurlers. LOL We all know the Yanks can put up some runs all on their own. the Blue jays will not be held down for long, especially vs CC who very well could come out of the box slow. Estrada lives off high ball outs. that may not be the best approach to this Yankee lineup. Judge, Stanton, Sanchez should see some hitable pitches. Take the OVER today |
|||||||
03-30-18 | Cubs v. Marlins +1.5 | 1-2 | Win | 120 | 2 h 6 m | Show
Cubs -1.5 Runs : Cubs took the season opener over the Marlins on Thursday, 8-4. Anthony Rizzo and Ian Happ both homered in the win. Jon Lester struggled, but got plenty of support from the powerful Cubs lineup. The Cubs lineup is loaded this season and they showed it on Thursday. The bullpen also looked good in relief of a struggling Lester. Miami saw the loss of Giancarlo Stanton to the Yankees and that's a lot of power gone from the lineup. Stanton made his new team happy on Thursday with a home run for the Yankees. Kyle Hendricks will face Caleb Smith. Hendricks looked very good in spring with a 2.37 ERA and 23 KO's. Smith has just two career starts and 18.2 innings in the big leagues with a 7.71 ERA. I'm going to lay the run and half here with a very strong Cubs team against a Miami team in rebuild mode. |

11-01-17 | Astros v. Dodgers -151 | 5-1 | Loss | -151 | 7 h 27 m | Show
I gave out the Dodgers to win this world series so I am backing them here in game 7. LA survived the tsunami called Just Verlander. In fact, they handed the righthander his first loss of the season with the Astros, making him 11-1 since he was traded from the Tigers. Verlander was his same old dominating self except for one double by Taylor and a sac fly by Seager. The Astros had numerous chances to score including a 2nd and 3rd with no outs early in the game. ANy of those chances would have likely put the Dodgers away for good and they would be celebrating today. Now they have to play a game seven and LA doesn't think they can be beat. I have to agree, this one is all mental and the Dodgers have it. |

10-31-17 | Astros -107 v. Dodgers | 1-3 | Loss | -107 | 34 h 30 m | Show
The bullpens have really taken a beating in this series of late. It didn't seem to matter which pitcher either team trotted to the mound, they got hit hard with 25 runs scored in game 5 on Sunday. Now with the Astros up 3-2 in the series, they move venues back to LA for game six. With both pens having lots of questions, it will be imperative for the starters to go deeper in this contest. And the Astros have a huge advanatage here with Justin Verlander. Verlander hasn't lost game since coming over from Detroit. He's pitched brilliant in the entire postseason and only gave up two hits in his first start against LA (both home runs). The latter home run only came after a two-out walk, something he hasn't done much of either. Rich Hill will start for LA and while Hill has done well, he is no match for Verlander in this one. The Astros know they can't let this series go the full seven. They need to close it out here. Play Hou |

10-24-17 | Astros v. Dodgers -164 | 1-3 | Win | 100 | 20 h 12 m | Show
Astros had to win the last two games in their series with the Yankees just to advance to the World Series. The Dodgers have really rolled through the playoffs, thanks to a perfect bullpen, excellent starting pitching and timely hitting. Their bullpen didn't allow a single run to the Cubs in the ALCS. Clayton Kershaw has looked like his old self and not the pitcher we have seen in past postseasons. Kershaw gets the start here in game 1 after going 2-0 in his three postseason starts, allowing seven runs over 17.1 innings. Dallas Keuchel will go for the Astros. Keuchel lost one game in the postseason, gave up five runs over 17.1 innings. I give a big advantage here to the Dodgers' bullpen and Dave Roberts won't hesitate to go there. Take LA. |

10-24-17 | Astros v. Dodgers OVER 7 | 1-3 | Loss | -100 | 8 h 33 m | Show
Strange conditions in LA for game 1 here tonight. It's expected to be over 100 degrees today in the LA area, a very unexpected temperature for the LA area during October. What does that mean for pitcher friendly Chavez Ravine? That means the air will be lighter and we are going to see the ball carry here tonight. The Dodgers manager, Dave Roberts, has already proven he will pull Kershaw at the first sign of trouble. These pitchers will tire tonight in this heat and I don't expect either to be around a long time here. Add to that the balls ability to carry in this heat and I'm taking the OVER tonight. |

10-20-17 | Yankees v. Astros -131 | 1-7 | Win | 100 | 43 h 45 m | Show
Elimination game here for the Astros after they were swept in New York, 3-0. The Yankees pitchers shut down the Astros hitters, holding Houston to just five runs over the three games (four of those coming in game 4). The Astros have now scored two runs or less in four of their five games in this series. Now we'll see what the Astros are made of, playing from behind. The Astros will turn to their great acquisition during late season, Justin Verlander. Verlander is 3-0 in the postseason, pitching a nine inning complete game last time out, allowing just one run and five hits. Luis Servino starts tonight for the Yankees. Servino has allowed seven runs in 11.1 postseason innings. This is where the Astros play well and I look for Houston to even this series behind the best pitcher on either team. Take Houston. |

10-18-17 | Astros v. Yankees UNDER 7.5 | 0-5 | Win | 100 | 7 h 49 m | Show
The first two games of this series were pitcher's duels, with both games going under in 2-1 finals. Game three just did go over and took a top of the 9th run from the Astros to get the OVER. Game four was a good OVER play and really the only true over of this series. Now we get back to the team's aces and that likely means another low scoring affair. Dallas Keuchel makes his third start of the post season and has been almost perfect. Keuchel has 12.2 innings of work and has allowed just one run on seven hits, no walks and 17 KO's. Masahiro Tanaka toes the rubber for the Yankees and has also been very good in the postseason, going 13 innings allowing two runs, two walks and 10 KO's. I look for another strong performance from both of these pitchers. Play the UNDER. |

10-17-17 | Astros v. Yankees OVER 8.5 | 4-6 | Win | 100 | 6 h 41 m | Show
The first two games of this series were both 2-1 finals and went UNDER. Game three moved to New York and just did make it over in the 9th inning when the Astros pushed over a run to make it 8-1. The Astros have been punushing the ball prior to this series, scoring 31 runs in their four games against the Red Sox. The Yankees pitching has really kept them in check. Sonny Gray gets the start here in game four and had a off-season, posting just a 10-12 record with a 3.55 ERA. In his lone postseason start, Gray allowed three runs over 3.1 innings to the Indians and had four walks. The Astros turn to Lance McCullers today. McCullers had a very similar line to Gray, posting just three innings of work in his one start with two runs allowed and two walks. McCullers had injury problems this year and almost wasn't included on the ALCS roster. This is the spot where I like the OVER. Neither team has their top two pitchers starting and the Astros are primed to get their bats working again. Take the OVER. |

10-16-17 | Astros v. Yankees -129 | 1-8 | Win | 100 | 9 h 10 m | Show
This series has been a low scoring series owned by the pitching. Charlie Morton makes his second start of the postseason for the Astros. Morton had a no decision in his start at Boston, going seven innings and allowing two runs. He's opposed by CC Sabathia, who had two starts vs the Indians. Sabathia went 4.1 and 5.1 innings, allowing a total of four runs over 9.2 innings. Yankees haven't scored but two runs against the Astros. Aaron Judge, the Yankees slugger has had trouble hitting the ball, going just 2-for-20 with 12 strikeouts. This is the pivotal game for the Yankees, either make this a series at 2-1 or be down a insurmountable 3-0. This is the spot they woke up vs the Indians and I see the same here. I'm taking New York to make this a series. |

10-12-17 | Cubs -115 v. Nationals | 9-8 | Win | 100 | 19 h 4 m | Show
The Cubs ran into a buzz saw in game four in the name of pitcher Stephen Strasburg, who shined in a last minute start for the Nationals. Strasburg struck out 12 batters and gave up no runs to even the series at two-games apiece. The Cubs start their hottest pitcher in Kyle Hendricks. Hendricks is coming off a excellent start in this series, allowing no runs and just two hits over seven innings in a game one win. The Nats have Gio Gonzalez penciled in for the start, but that could change. This game has the Cubs a slight favorite and despite who starts for the Nationals I know I have a great shot with Hendricks. I'm taking the Cubs here in game 5. |

10-08-17 | Astros -139 v. Red Sox | 3-10 | Loss | -139 | 29 h 38 m | Show
Astros looking to sweep this series and wrap up their WildCard series with the Red Sox here today. The Astros took another easy winner in games 2, winning 8-2 over the Sox. Jose Altuve, all 5-foot-6 of him, is the likely MVP of this series. Through his 2 games he has two intentional walks, three Home runs and is batting 5 for 7 (.714) in the series. The real story are the Red Sox starters or lack thereof. Chris Sale and Drew Pomeranz have not been good. After Sale was shelled in game one, Pomeranz gav up four runs on fives hits in two innings in game two. This whole series has been dominated by the Astros from pens to bats and I don't see that changing here today. Take the Astros. |

10-07-17 | Diamondbacks +130 v. Dodgers | 5-8 | Loss | -100 | 11 h 7 m | Show
Game 2 of the Wild Cards here with the Dodger taking game one with Clayton Kershaw, 9-5. Once again we see team's top pitchers struggling in these series. As for Kershaw, the post season has always been his problem area and yesterday was really no different, giving up four solo home runs. Lucky for Kershaw, the Dodgers offense was up to the task. Today, the D'backs will get to start one of their two top pitchers in Robbie Ray. Ray had to be used in the Colorado Wild Card win, but he's ready to start today. Ray threw 34 pitches and 2.1 innings on Wednesday. Ray was 15-5 on the season with a 2.89 ERA, including three wins against the Dodges and a 2.27 ERA. Rich Hill starts for LA. Hill has struggled against Arizona, posting a 0-3 record and 5.03 ERA this year. I like Arizona to bounce back here today with Ray on the hill. Play Arizona. |

10-06-17 | Diamondbacks +247 v. Dodgers | 5-9 | Loss | -100 | 11 h 42 m | Show
The Dodgers definitely had their issues down the stretch, especially with starting pitchers that were great for most of the season. Tonight LA starts Clayton Kershaw, their ace. In recent years, Kershaw has looked anything but the part in the post season, failing on multiple occasions to get the wins. Add to that fact that the D'backs were one of the hottest teams down the stretch and we have what could be a big upset tonight. Price just too much to pass on in this spot. Take Arizona plus the big money. |
