Neither of these clubs will be playing in the post season. The Suns are sitting at 17-49, while the Wolves are just slightly better at 21-45. Whichever team you take in this matchup, you have to really look for that team to win outright. And that's going to be tougher for the road team here. The Wolves are just 3-6 S/U in their last nine games. Phoenix isn't much better, but is 2-3 in the last five. There aren't many instances when I look for Phoenix to win a game this season, but this is one. The Suns should have this game circled as one they can win. Play Phoenix.

The Blazers had Sunday off and now head to Oklahoma to play the Thunder. Portland has been pretty consistent, covering at home and not covering on the road. Portland is in that "bubble" area for the West final playoff spot. The team sits in 6th, but that is just 1 1/2 games away from 9th. Oklahoma City sits in third place in the west. However, like Portland, the Thunder are just five games from 6th place. The Thunder have covered three of their last four games. The Thunder have had the better of this series, going 11-5-1 ATS the last 17 meetings and 6-2 ATS the last eight in OKC. I'm going to lay the points with the Thunder tonight.

Reason: Home Dominator Game of the Month : The Mavericks bring a five game losing streak both S/U and ATS into tonight's contest at Charlotte. The Mavs have also struggled on the road, where they are 1-7 ATS their last eight away games. Meanwhile, Charlotte has been hot, winning seven straight and 6-1 ATS. The Hornets have closed to within just a half game of Southeast division leader Miami. The better news is that the club is just 1 1/2 games out of third place in the East Conference playoff picture. Charlotte has covered four of the last six in this series and with the Hornets playing excellent ball, I'm taking them here on Monday.

The Knicks are 3,000 miles from home playing the fourth game of a brutal six-game trip. New York has a bad offense, No. 25 in the NBA in scoring and No. 22 in field goal shooting. The Knicks are 3-8 ATS in their last 11 games playing on one days rest. The Lakers made big news when they upset the Warriors as a +17 dog. So was that just a fluke? The young Lakers + Kobe are 3-3 the last six games, also upsetting the Magic as a +3.5 home dog and beating Brooklyn. This is the fifth straight home game for the Lakers and they are 5-1 ATS playing on 2 days rest. Memphis had a much easier time yesterday: Five players reached double-figures in the scoring column for the Memphis Tigers, while the defense held Tulane without a single double-digit effort, as Memphis advanced to the American Athletic Conference title game following a 74-54 win over the Tulane Green Wave. The Memphis defense held Tulane to 32.7 percent shooting from the field (18-of-55), and 5-of-22 (22.7 percent) from long range. The Tigers also forced 18 turnovers, committing just nine of their own in the 20-point win. And the Underdog is 5-2 ATS in the last 7 meetings. Play Memphis.

3/12 3:00 PM EST CB (739) CONNECTICUT VS (740) TEMPLE. Take: (740) CBB Situational Game of the Year: Temple. Often difficult during these conference tournaments when teams have to play back-to-back games and sometimes three games in three days. But when you have to endure an overtime the previous day, it can take a toll on the legs. That's just the case here. UConn had to go to FOUR overtimes to dispatch Cincinnati on Friday. That was the equivalent of playing an entire extra half of basketball. Then they turn right around and play today against Temple. Temple has been playing very well, winning four straight and nine of the last 11 games. The Owls had little trouble with South Florida in their opening AAC tourney game on Friday, winning 79-62. The Owls are 19-8 ATS in their last 27 games following a spread win. Temple has beaten the Huskies twice this season and they make it three in a row. The Huskies have to be tired after that marathon game on Friday. I think the oddsmakers have the wrong favorite here and the Huskies are 0-4 ATS in the last 4 meetings. Take Temple.

3/12 2:00 PM EST CB (733) UL - LAFAYETTE VS (734) ARKANSAS LITTLE ROCK. Take: (733) UL - LAFAYETTE Reason: If UL Lafayette looks to get past this semi finals contest, they will have to do so against the top seeded Arkansas Little Rock squad. The Ragin' Cajuns breezed through their quarterfinal game on Friday with an easy win over South Alabama, 90-68. The Cajuns showcased their sharp shooting in that game. ULL is ranked 35th in scoring in the nation with 79.6 ppg average and they also shoot 44.4% from the floor. This club also gets to the charity stripe quite often, averaging 25.6 free throws per game. Arkansas Little Rock might have to shake the cob webs out here, having been off for nine days now. The Trojans were 17-3 S/U in the Sun Belt this season. The Trojans also have a very good defense, ranked 3rd in the nation allowing just 59.8 ppg. This game will be the ULL great offense against the Arkansas LR defense. I think the layoff could hurt the Trojans here though as they might come out a bit flat for this one. I'm going to take the points with Lafayette.

3/09 06:00 PM CB (543) UCLA VS (544) USC. Take: (544) USC Reason: A pair of rivals meet at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. UCLA is 3-7 on the road. The Bruins are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games vs. a team with a winning straight up record. UCLA (15-16, 6-12) is coming off an 86-82 home loss to Oregon State on March 2 and has lost four straight games. While UCLA has a losing record overall Southern California just hit 20 wins. The Tigers are a dangerous opponent if only because they can shoot it from the outside, leading the SEC with 8.9 made 3-pointers per game, and have a pair of capable frontcourt players. Kareem Canty (18.3 points, 5.3 assists) and Bryce Brown (10.2 points) lead the charge on the perimeter, and Tyler Harris (13.9 points, 7.6 rebounds) and Cinmeon Bowers (10.7 points, 9.8 rebounds) can cause problems in the paint. These clubs met back in Atlanta on November 15th, with the Jazz taking a close, 97-96 contest. This series has been owned by the Hawks though, covering 11 of the last 16 meetings. Atlanta has been hot too, winning four of five S/U and 5-0 ATS. The Jazz haven't been good lately, posting a 3-8 S/U and 2-8-1 ATS their last 11 games. Jazz have the Warriors up next on Wednesday, so they may not be entirely focused on this game tonight. Take the Hawks.

No. 23 Saint Mary's is on a roll, winners of eight straight games and the top seed in this year's West Coast Conference Championships. The Gaels are 10-4 ATS in their last 14 games vs. a team with a winning straight up record. Early in the conference season, in a sold out McKeon Pavilion, SMC pulled off a memorable victory over GU. Down 15 points in the second half, Randy Bennett's team came from behind to knock off the Bulldogs 70-67. Just a little over two weeks ago, the Gaels embarked on the season's toughest road trip that became a defining moment for the team's run to the league title. Just two days after a thrilling 74-72 win at Portland off a Joe Rahon layup with only 2.7 seconds left, SMC traveled to Spokane, Wash. The Gaels took down the Bulldogs on the road, 63-58, to move into first place and record the first sweep of Gonzaga since 1995. North Dakota State has 20 wins on the season, the fourth consecutive season the team has reached 20 wins. North Dakota State is 21-8 ATS at neutral sites and just knocked off top seed IPFW on Monday, 69-68, as a +3.5 dog. North Dakota State shot 50 percent from the floor for the game (25-of-50) while IPFW finished at 38.7 percent (24-of-62). Reason: Road Warrior Game of the Month: San Antonio is that "other" team in the West. With all the accolades that the Warriors have received this year, sometimes we forget how good the Spurs are. Not only are they 53-9, but they are undefeated at home (30-0). The Spurs have failed to cover in two straight games, though they did miss out by just 1 1/2 points in both games. That snapped a four game spread win streak. The Spurs could be without F LaMarcus Aldridge (Migraine) tonight, who is currently questionable and averages 17.12 ppg. The Indiana Pacers are 33-30 this season. They have covered just three of their last eight games. In addition, the Pacers are 0-5 ATS their last five games at home. Spurs do well on the road playing at teams with winning records (9-4 ATS the last 13). I like the road team here going away. Take San Antonio.

3/02 10:35 PM EST NBA (721) OKLAHOMA CITY THUNDER VS (722) LOS ANGELES CLIPPERS. Take: (722) High End NBA Metrics Release: LA Clippers. The Clippers trail Oklahoma City by 2 1/2 games for third place in the Western Conference, a coveted spot that would likely entail avoiding first-place Golden State in the second round of the playoffs. Oklahoma City is not a strong road team and this is a tough situational spot, the second of a four-game trip. They haven't been playing that well, either, on a 2-4 SU, 3-3 ATS run. The Thunder are 3-10 ATS in their last 13 road games, plus 2-8 ATS following a straight up win. The Clippers are home, rested, and rolling, on an 11-4 SU, 9-6 ATS run. The Clippers are No. 6 in points scored, No. 8 in points allowed and 12-4 ATS in their last 16 games playing on one days rest. Play the LA Clippers.

The Nets will stay in LA tonight, after having played the Clippers last night. Brooklyn has covered four straight games and six of the last eight. The Lakers have had three days off after their home loss to the Grizzlies, 112-95. The Lakers had a nice spread run going, but have now covered just one of the last four. Brooklyn has done well in this series, going 6-3-1 ATS the last ten meetings. The road team has done very well, going 19-5-4 ATS the last 28 times these clubs have played. I'm impressed with the play of Brooklyn lately and they played right there with the Clippers last night. I'm expecting another good effort tonight. Take Brooklyn.

The Magic have been very good to bettors of late, covering six of their last nine attempts. What has kept this club covering has been a decent offense, one that has scored over 100 points in five of the last six games. Meanwhile, Dallas is riding a two-game win streak, after beating Minnesota and Denver. Even with the two straight covers, the Mavs are just 6-9 ATS their last 15 games. Orlando has covered the last two in this series, including the one previous meeting this season in Orlando, 110-104. Taking points with a team that can score is just too much to pass on. Villanova failed to cover in its last home game as -11 against Butler and the home game before that they were -26.5 against St. John's and won just 73-63. The Wildcats are 3-7-1 ATS following a spread win. DePaul is not going to try and run with Villanova. The Pacers are just 3-8 ATS their last 11 in this spot, while Cleveland is 5-5-1 ATS their last 11. Moreover, when Indiana has played another team on no rest, the Pacers have come out on the short side, going 0-4 ATS the last four times. Indiana has covered just twice in their last seven chances and chances don't look too good tonight. I'm laying the points with a rested Lebron and the Cavs.

To say the LA Clippers shots were off in their last game at Denver is a bit of an understatement. The Clippers came to Denver with a three-game win streak and scoring lots of points. However, a franchise high 46 3-points attempts at Denver resulted in just 13 made shots (28.3%). The 2-pointers weren't much better, hitting on just 35.3% in a 87-81 loss at home to the Nuggets. Still, the Clippers are having a very good season as they sit fourth in the West. LA has also been on a very good spread run, going 18-9 ATS since December 26. LA is also 11-4 ATS in their last 15 road games. Sacramento is chasing that final playoff spot, sitting four games back of the Jazz right now. The Kings have the worst scoring defense in the West, allowing 109.1 ppg. The result is evident in their spread record, as they are 3-10 ATS in their last 13 games. Clips have covered four of the last five times they have traveled to Sacramento. I like the Clippers to bounce back here after their dismal shooting performance against Denver. Take the LA Clippers.
