VT/Clemson Noon: Clemson is on a nice 4-0 ATS run but not thrilled with the quality of opposition. They'll face a hungry Hokies team eager to get the sour taste out of their mouths after an embarrassment on the 4th at home vs L'ville. I do realize that Justin Robinson's absence will hurt on the road but VT has shooters and coached well. Blackshear Jr., Outlaw and Alexander-Walker can pick up the scoring slack. Clemson has a high turnover rate, weak guarding on the perimeter and weak shooting from the perimeter. Tech is 7-2 ATS at Clemson and should deliver.

Fla State/Syracuse 8:00: Not buying in to the Seminoles run. They struggled from the field against GT Saturday. They hit just 34.8% from the floor and went 4 of 16 from 3 point range. Syracuse has polished their zone this time of year and will surely invite the Seminoles to present that kind of offense against them tonight. The Seminoles aren't going to win on defense on this floor. Battle, Howard and Brissett have a established a nice rhythmic offense. If they can get Hughes (25% last 3 games) going, look out. Orange have won 5 of last 6 at home and 6-2 ATS off a SU win. With the home team 5-0 ATS in this series, value with Syracuse.

They recently failed to cover at home against above .500 teams Portland and blown out at home vs Golden State. 76ers are 11-1 ATS in this series at Denver. They've given Auburn fits in this series covering 4 straight. SC has been an enigma this season losing to some inferior teams yet reeling off 4 straight SEC wins; therefore, they do have the capability to play with the big boys. Last Saturday, their key inside presence F Silva fouled out in the first 8 minutes of play and it all went to crap for SC from there. It was Silva's second time in two games fouling out. Tonight, he won't have to battle Auburn's big man - Austin Wiley (out) and should do the damage inside. SC should control the pace on their floor with Frank Martin defense. Nebraska is shooting for its 21st straight home win and its not foolish to think they can't achieve it tonight. This series has been competitive with Nebraska taking 3 straight from 2014 through 2016. And then Michigan State took the next 3. Sure, Michigan State is on a 10 game winning run and has some top gun talent in Winston and Ward. And McQuaid has displayed good range; however, the absence of Langford (foot) and Ahrens (back) could finally stall out the Spartans. Remember, in turnover margin, Michigan State sports the worst in the Big Ten at minus 2.8 whereas the Cornhuskers sport the best at plus 4.3. Nebraska prides itself on defense with the 10th best scoring defense 9th best perimeter defense in the nation. And Nebraska can trade points on this floor too with 3 solid shooters in Palmer (19 PPG), Copeland (14.3 PPG) and Watson Jr. (13.5 PPG). Nebraska 8-1 ATS at home vs a team with a winning road record. If he can't go, either Baer or Kriener will have to step up in his absence; after all, they won at Northwestern on the 9th when Cook was out with a knee ailment. The Hawkeyes are playing well together and finding ways to manufacture points. On the other hand, the offensively challenged Nittany Lions, which are win-less in the Big Ten, are getting no work from their bench. The 309th ranked offense in the nation relies mostly on F Lamar Stevens and leading distributor Josh Reaves. LSU/Houston 9:00: Houston is a veteran team with a stable backcourt in Brooks and Davis who can light it up. The Cougars have won 21 straight at home and most of the team hasn't forgotten the two straight losses suffered in consecutive years to the Tigers. Tonight, we'll look for sweet revenge. LSU coming off two comfortable wins against lightweights Grambling and Incarnate Word. This will be LSU's first true road game of the season and they should struggle despite getting back some players. LSU is a money burning 1-7-2 ATS in its last 10 road tilts. Houston the call.

Spurs have the offensive juice at home where they've won and covered 3 straight. DeRozan, Gay and Aldridge finally establishing a pretty good rhythm; however, defensively leaves much to be desired. But Phoenix doesn't have the offensive firepower to trade buckets effectively with Booker (hamstring) still on the mend. Home team is 6-2 ATS in this series and Phoenix has not fared well on this floor. Spurs roll.

Bulldogs' HC Howland has historically built his teams on defense and rebounding. He's gradually recruited the tough, gritty student athletes in the program and this should be a solid year for him and the program. He's got a good inside presence with F Reggie Perry and PG Lamar Peters is blossoming in to a really good floor leader with a good shot. On the other hand, Clemson is dangerous with G Marcquise Reed leading the show; however, he sprained his knee Tuesday and he's not going to be at his dangerous mobile self today. Clemson struggled against St. Peter's on the perimeter (4 for 12) and should carry over here as a traveler. Miss State the call.

Houston's veteran HC Sampson should once again have his men well prepared to handle a wild road assignment. Houston is 5-0 ATS vs a team with a home win % above .600. And they're solid on Saturday at 18-7-1 ATS. Houston has a veteran backcourt in Davis and Brooks playing at high level now and able to withstand momentum shifts at a hostile arena. Cowboys just 1-4 ATS vs AAC and we'll take the points here.

They also have enough perimeter shooters to give Purdue trouble; after all, Purdue allows a generous 36.4% from 3 point range (298th in nation). MD is 13-6 ATS on the road against a team with a home win % above .600. Terrapins are 3-1-2 ATS in this series and the road team is 2-0. They'll win this championship but Cleveland should clean up its shaky defensive errors of Game 3 and put up another fight, this time a bit more from Korver and Green could make the difference. For Golden State, mediocrity set in for Curry, Thompson and Green (foul trouble) in Game 3; however, Durant went off with 43 points and was deadly down the stretch to seal Cleveland's fate. I do realize Iguodala adds another dimension to an already loaded Warriors' lineup. And LeBron can only do so much; however, we'll look for a concerted effort from the Cavaliers behind a faithful crowd and, perhaps, some favorable calls by the officials to extend this series a bit.

LeBron can't top his performance in Game 1 but Durant (8 of 22 from the floor/ 1 of 7 from 3 pt. range) can play better and that's where the value lies. Look for better defensive adjustments on LeBron despite Golden State's best defender - Iguodala (leg bruise) still listed as doubtful. Warriors/Rockets 9:05: In Game 6, Rockets were rolling in the first half jumping all over Golden State; however, Golden State ambushed them in the 3rd quarter and Houston was unable to recover. Harden had nine turnovers and, as I explained before Game 6, he's not the floor leader who can put a team on his shoulders and carry in Big Games. He's a huge complimentary player like he served at in OKC. Chris Paul was sorely missed and judging from the extent of his hamstring injury, he's not going to be able to run with the incumbent champs. Minor hamstring injuries can be fought through but his seems more extensive; regardless, he won't be miraculously sprinting up and down the floor like needed in Game 7 against superior opposition. Golden State's Green had a rough outing in Game 6 and should turn up his game while the usual sharp shooting contingent of GS should continue to roll. We'll look for AD, who amazingly didn't go to the foul line in Game 2, to work Draymond Green and get him in foul trouble at the Big Easy. I see Davis much more aggressive tonight.
