At 9:30am ET, my Bundesliga Game Of the Month is on VfB Stuttgart. Stuttgart is set to triumph over Borussia Mönchengladbach due to its superior and homefield advantage from playing the match at home. MHPArena, which has a capacity of over 60,000 and a passionate fanbase that will boost team morale. Historically, Stuttgart has a strong recent home record against Mönchengladbach. In recent seasons, Stuttgart has dominated, including a 3-1 victory in September 2024 and a 4-0 thrashing in May 2024. Stuttgart has gotten off to a disappointing start to the 2025/26 season, losing 2-1 to Union Berlin in their Bundesliga opener and falling in the DFL-Supercup to Bayern Munich. However, this will fuel its determination to secure that elusive first league win of the season. Stuttgart's recent performances, despite losses, show attacking intent, with goals scored in four of their last five matches across all competitions. At 12:00pm ET, my Early Riser is on Purdue. The Boilermakers are off a dreadful year. They've got a new coach and a great opponent to kick off the new era against. New heach coach Barry Odom was 2-0 SU/ATS the past 2 years in season openers, as head coach of UNLV. Odom can't be expected to work miracles with this team in his first season but he should be able to confidently blow out a bad Ball State team. Purdue is 8-0 SU all-time versus Ball State. The Cardinals are in a rebuilding year themselves. They're accustomed to getting blown out in their first road game (62-0, 44-14, 59-10, 44-13 L4 years) of the season and this year will be no different. Lay the points.

At 7:30pm ET, my August Total Of the Month is on Missouri St vs USC Under. We think of the Trojans as a team which is always flying over the total. That was the case in 2023 as the over was 9-3 in their games. The over was 9-3 in Trojan games in 2022 and 7-5 the previous year. So, a 25-11 over mark for the 3-year period between 2021-2023. So, its no wonder the perception of the Trojans being an 'over' team still lingers. That changed last season though, as the over was only 6-6 in their games. USC was much improved in both yards and points allowed. With 7 starters back on defense, the Trojans are expected to improve again defensively. The Trojans will host a Missouri State team which was 3-1 to the under in non-conference games last season and which is going to have trouble scoring. USC pitched a shutout in its "home" opener last season. Behind another big effort from the Trojan defense, play on the under. 

At 10:30pm ET, my CFB Game Of The Month is on Arizona. Hawaii came through for me last week but the win came with a cost for the Warriors. It was a gritty effort, won on a last minute field goal. Great and gutsy win for the Warriors but keep in mind that they had to rally from a 10-point deficit and that Stanford had a 36 minute to 24 minute edge in time of possession. Quarterback Micah Alejado managed to stay in the game but sustained an injury. The defense logged a lot of minutes and now the team is logging a lot of miles flying to Arizona. Once in the desert, they will encounter a vastly improved Wildcat team dead set on getting off to a fast start and erasing the memory of a disappointing season. The 'Cats return 16 starters and are stronger on both sides of the ball. The Warriors have winnable games in their near future but this isn't one of them. Lay the points with Arizona.
