09-16-17 | Tennessee v. Florida -4 | 20-26 | Win | 100 | 21 h 40 m | Show
Tennessee at Florida 3:30 ET Gators (+) over Volunteers- Okay, I understand that Florida did not score an offensive touchdown against Michigan in their opener but they were without their top two offensive players in wide receiver Antonio Callaway and running back Jordan Scarlett who will return Saturday. The Gators had their second game against Northern Colorado cancelled and have been waiting for a chance to atone for their weak performance against the Wolverines. The Vols are 2-0 and off a 42-7 win over Indiana State and that doesn't necessarily help as coach Butch Jones is 4-13-1 ATS after a win of 14 points or more. Take FLORIDA! |
09-16-17 | UCLA v. Memphis +3.5 | Top | 45-48 | Win | 100 | 22 h 34 m | Show |
U.C.L.A at Memphis 12:00 ET Tigers (+) over Bruins- We have seen the Bruins move the ball through the air coming from behind against Texas A&M and routing Hawaii 57-23 while passing for 820 yards in two games. The problem for UCLA is that they have surrendered 332 yards rushing per game. That is not good for Jim Mora's squad as Memphis had two 100-yard rushers in the first-half of their opener ran for over 300 yards. With this game starting at noon Eastern time it is essentially a 9AM start for the West Coasters. Take MEMPHIS! |
09-14-17 | Texans v. Bengals -6 | 13-9 | Loss | -107 | 10 h 52 m | Show
Houston at Cincinnati 8:25 ET Bengals (-) over Texans- This is actually a pretty difficult cal as there are so many reasons to 'go-against' both these clubs. Let's start with their dismal performances in Week 1 as both clubs were dominated as home favorites last week with the Bengals getting shut out 20-0 by the Ravens and the Texans being man-handled by the Jaguars 29-7. Their a a plethora of problems with Houston including injuries, a first-starting rookie quarterback and a coach in Bill O'Brien that is in over his head. O'Brien named Tom Savage his starter Game 1 and then pulled him at the half only to have Deshaun Watson sacked four times in the second half. When a head coached is confused (see Hard Knocks 2016) as O'Brien is the clubs plays leaderless and won't win. Take CINCINNATI! |
09-10-17 | Giants v. Cowboys -4 | Top | 3-19 | Win | 100 | 23 h 26 m | Show |
New York Giants at Dallas 8:30 ET Cowboys (-) over Giants- The entire summer and throughout the preseason I heard everywhere how it was the Giants were going to dethrone Dallas and win the NFC East. And while that was a buzz the Cowboys were in a mess of their own as Elliott was most likely sideline. Talk was of how the Giants took the 'Boys down twice last year and they have their 'number.' Well, the worm has turned as Elliott is able to play and New York's Super-star Odell Beckman Jr. might well be sidelined with a high ankle sprain. The Cowboys were a 1-point favorite in last years opener and although the thought is that the Giants have improved this year the line is much stronger. Take DALLAS |
09-10-17 | Panthers v. 49ers +6 | 23-3 | Loss | -120 | 19 h 28 m | Show
Carolina at San Francisco 4:25 ET 49ers (+) over Panthers- As my buddy handicapper and politician asked me 'who quarterbacks the 49ers?' So, I dug deep and found out that it is Brian Hoyer and I have to figure that is better then Blane Gabbert anyway. Carolina of course will have a 'repaired' Cam Newton and exciting wide receiver/running back and return man Christian McCaffrey. But, San Francisco has an answer on the ground with Carlos Hyde who is ready to make his mark with head coach Kyle Shananhan. How bad can Hoyer be he was 10-5-1 ATS with the Browns but the Niners are 2-13 ATS in the last 15 meetings. Be careful. Take SAN FRANCISCO! |
09-10-17 | Seahawks +3 v. Packers | Top | 9-17 | Loss | -104 | 19 h 18 m | Show |
Seattle at Green Bay 4:25 ET Seahawks (+) over Packers- This is not a spot where I feel completely comfortable and I will explain. Seattle won and covered all four of their preseason games and for the most part I have learned that when a team puts that much importance to the preseason they get taken down in week one. But, this is a unique situation as the Seahawks are not put into the position of being a favorite and they will get points here as the underdog. Green Bay has hosted an won the last two meetings winning both game easily. No so fast my friend. Take SEATTLE! |
09-10-17 | Colts +5 v. Rams | 9-46 | Loss | -110 | 15 h 7 m | Show
Indianapolis at Los Angeles Rams 4:05 ET Colts (+) over Rams- I had an eye on this game six weeks ago when they had the Colts as 3-point favorites and the books didn't have a grasp of how far away from playing Andrew Luck was from playing. The 'Books' may have not known Luck wasn't going to be ready but, the Indianapolis coaching staff 'knew' and have been preparing everyday for this game being out of luck so to say. The Rams have become the new 'darlings of the public and I just don't really understand why. Maybe it's going back to LA and wearing their former colors (white) again but I don't think they realize that starter Jared Goff is 0-7 as a starter and is now in the favorites roll. I don't think so. Take INDIANAPOLIS! |
09-10-17 | Falcons v. Bears +7 | 23-17 | Win | 100 | 16 h 9 m | Show
Atlanta at Chicago 1:00 ET Bears (+) over Falcons- Not so much that I have confidence in the Bears but Atlanta has to still be shell shocked by the results of their last real game (they were 0-4 both SU and ATS in the preseason). Chicago closed the pre-season with a 25-0 white wash loss to the Cleveland Browns and you can't get much lower then that. For the Falcons this is the first game without offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan who was in synch with Matt Ryan. The piece that everyone is aware of is that the Super Bowl loser in road openers are 2-15 straight-up and ATS in the last 32 years. The Bears are 23-10 straight-up in home openers and Atlanta is 5-18 straight-up on the road against non-division opponents. Take Da' BEARS! |
09-10-17 | Ravens +3 v. Bengals | 20-0 | Win | 100 | 12 h 52 m | Show
Baltimore at Cincinnati 1:00 ET Ravens (+) over Bengals- Can both these clubs wear black this week because I image one of them is going to be disappointed not only in uniform color but in the final score. I can't quite grasp way the Bengals are going so much support from the 'public' and 'wise guys' alike. Cincinnati was 6-9-1 last season and did nothing in the preseason to make me think that they have turned things around. Baltimore I know that Joe Flacco didn't play in the preseason but he is well aware of the offense and the Ravens return a number of players that missed time. The Bengals are going in the opposite direction as they will be without two huge players on defense in Burfict and Jones. Take BALTIMORE! |
09-09-17 | Utah v. BYU +3 | 19-13 | Loss | -115 | 24 h 36 m | Show
Utah at B.Y.U. 10:15 ET Cougars (+) over Utes- BYU maybe 1-1 and on the season but they haven't played well in either contest a 20-6 win over Portland State or their beating 27-0 against LSU. Utah who has won six straight and 11 of the last 15 games in the series won last year 20-19 by stopping a two-point conversion attempt. The Cougars have offensive issues as quarterback Tanner Mangum (28-51-296) can't do it alone. Utah started slow against South Dakota State winning 37-16 dominating the 2nd half. This game is for states 'Bragging Rights' and both sides with be ready but the urgency will be behind the Cougars. Take BRIGHAM YOUNG! |
09-09-17 | Stanford v. USC -5 | Top | 24-42 | Win | 100 | 22 h 42 m | Show |
Stanford at Southern Cal 8:30 ET Trojans (-) over Cardinals- Man, after all the hype I had to endure for weeks about how good Southern Cal was all I have heard this week is how they are not the team many thought they were, this after one game. Stanford has had the best of it in this series the past decade winning the last three and seven of the past nine as they return from Australia off a 62-7 win over Rice. USC was tie in the 4th quarter against upstart Western Michigan before pulling away late winning 49-31. Although the Cardinal are 11-3 ATS in the last 14 meetings the Trojans have won 10 straight against FBS competition. Underrated USC gets it done here...Take the TROJANS! |
09-09-17 | Georgia v. Notre Dame -5 | Top | 20-19 | Loss | -110 | 21 h 53 m | Show |
Georgia at Notre Dame 7:30 ET Fighting Irish (-) over Bulldogs- Georgia's true freshman quarterback Jake Fromm became the storyline when he enter the game in mid-first quarter to lead the Bulldogs to a 31-10 victory over Appalachian State. The Irish meanwhile were running over Temple 49-16 behind three 100-yard rushers. Quarterback Fromm will find that playing on the road and against the Notre Dame defense will be much different than beating the Mountaineers at home. Tough spot for any QB much less a first road game for a freshman. Take NOTRE DAME! |
09-09-17 | South Carolina v. Missouri -2.5 | 31-13 | Loss | -120 | 20 h 15 m | Show
South Carolina at Missouri 7:00 ET Tigers (+) over Gamecocks- South Carolina took the opening kick-off 97 yards for a touchdown and were never headed last week taking down N.C. State 35-28 while Missouri ran past Missouri State 72-43 setting offensive school records. Granted the Tigers opposition was from another 'division' in college football and they even surrendered 43 points as a 36-point favorite. I look for Missouri's offense to continue scoring and their defense to sure up against the run where the Gamecocks are weak. South Carolina gained just 245 offensive yards in last weeks win over the Wolfpack and only 31 yards rushing. Take MISSOURI! |
09-09-17 | Auburn +6 v. Clemson | Top | 6-14 | Loss | -115 | 20 h 14 m | Show |
Auburn at Clemson 7:00 ET Tigers (+) over Tigers- Okay let get this out of the way...Tigers win! There are so many things that I like about this game where I first saw the match-up. We will see some contrast here as Clemson enters the contest racking up 665 offensive yards in their 56-3 win against Kent while Auburn pounded Georgia Southern 41-7 holding the Eagles to 78 total yards. AU will be going with former Baylor QB Jarrett Stidham behind center and his experience and talent will overcome Death Valley. Take AUBURN! |
09-08-17 | Ohio +3.5 v. Purdue | 21-44 | Loss | -115 | 9 h 17 m | Show
Ohio at Purdue 8:00 ET Bobcats (+) over Boilermakers- Purdue is definitely on the upswing as they gave #10 Louisville a battle to the end in their 35-28 loss as a 25-point underdog. But they have had such a long way to go having won just nine of their last 50 contests. Ohio beat up on hapless Hampton 59-0 and usually after a cupcake like that a club falters when the play gets tougher. These two haven't met since 1988 a 33-10 Purdue win but this Bobcats team is 6-1 ATS in road openers and 6-1 ATS against Big Ten. Boilermakers are just 1-3 ATS at hone against the MAC. It just adds up...Take OHIO! |
09-07-17 | Chiefs +9.5 v. Patriots | 42-27 | Win | 100 | 11 h 45 m | Show
Kansas City at New England 8:30 ET Chiefs (+) over Patriots- Well, here we go another NFL season opener with the Super Bowl Champion New England Patriots hosting an AFC rival that were a playoff team at 12-4 last season. When comparing these two clubs it all starts and ends at the quarterback position. Tom Brady turns 40 years old this season and brings 5 Super Bowl rings, 14 AFC Division titles and has played in 12 Pro Bowls where the Chiefs quarterback Alex Smith is still looking to complete a pass to a wide receiver. The 'numbers' are overwhelming when you realize that Brady is 101-17 at Gillette Stadium and have won 24 in-a-row against non-division AFC foes. Although Kansas City brings things to the table as well they have never won at Gillette. What the Chiefs bring is a mistake free offense managed by Smith and coached by Andy Reid who is 7-0 straight-up and ATS against the AFC East and he is 17-9 ATS in September. Add that Reid is 12-3 ATS as a dog of 8-points or more. Take KANSAS CITY! |
09-04-17 | Tennessee v. Georgia Tech +3.5 | 42-41 | Win | 100 | 9 h 3 m | Show
Tennessee vs Georgia Tech 8:00 ET Yellow Jackets (+) over Volunteers- Tennessee who has their best season (9-4) since 2006 will be hard pressed to replace their offensive firepower, especially in quarterback Joshua Dobbs who has moved on the play in the NFL. Georgia Tech like the Volunteers will have a new quarterback and there are four possibilities that coach Paul Johnson says that will play. Johnson is famous for running the best 'Triple-option' offense in the country and dismissed last years leading rusher for the team in August. Still, he is 13-2 straight-up in season openers and will christen the brand-new Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta. Georgia Tech closed last season with four wins and is 5-1 in their last six games against the SEC. Take GEORGIA TECH! |
09-03-17 | Texas A&M +4.5 v. UCLA | 44-45 | Win | 100 | 8 h 9 m | Show
Texas A&M at UCLA 7:30 ET Aggies (+) over Bruins- These two schools opened the season against each other last season as the Aggies took UCLA down in overtime. Both clubs closed the season weakly as Texas A&M lost four of their final five games and the Bruins dropped six of their final seven. The Aggies lost quarterback Trevor Knight to the NFL while UCLA as we are all aware is returning outspoken Josh Rosen who was limited to six games last season because of injuries. The running game will be the difference here as A&M returns two powerful running backs in Trayveon Williams and Christian Kirk. Take TEXAS A&M! |
09-02-17 | Vanderbilt v. Middle Tennessee State +3.5 | 28-6 | Loss | -118 | 10 h 27 m | Show
Vanderbilt at Mid Tennessee State 8:00 ET Blue Raiders (+) over Commodores- There is no question Vanderbilt has improved under coach Derek Mason but they still couldn't post a winning record last season despite beating Tennessee, Georgia and Mississippi. The Commodores have beeb slow starters for a number of seasons last winning their opener against Elon in 2011 and last time defeating a FBC team in 2008 against Miami-Ohio. Vandy pasted Mid Tennessee State last season at home 47-24 and come up a meager 3-point favorite on the road here. Look for the Blue Raiders to gain a measure of revenge at home. Take MID TENNESSEE STATE! |
09-02-17 | Appalachian State +14.5 v. Georgia | 10-31 | Loss | -115 | 9 h 55 m | Show
Appalachian State at Georgia 6:15 ET Mountaineers (+) over Bulldogs- Georgia is expected to pound the ball with running backs Nick Chubb and Sony Michel both returning and skipping the NFL draft. Bulldogs coach Kirby Smart is in his second year at the helm and looks to improve on their 8-5 (4-4) record from his first season. Appalachian State has won 21 games the past two seasons and almost took down Tennessee in their opener last season losing 20-13 in overtime. The Mountaineers finished 17th in total defense last season and will be ready for the Bulldogs ground game. They won their bowl game the past two seasons and have the return of veteran quarterback Taylor Lamb and runnings back Jalin Moore who ran for 1,402 yards last season with 10 touchdowns. Take the MOUNTAINEERS! |
09-02-17 | Michigan v. Florida +6 | Top | 33-17 | Loss | -115 | 6 h 25 m | Show |
Michigan vs. Florida 3:30 ET Gators over Wolverines- A great match-up to start the season between two storied programs in Arlington Stadium. Michigan who lost 11 players to the NFL draft is ranked 9th while Florida who has back-to back SEC East Division titles will be without 10 players suspended for selling books. Hey we all understand most of the Platers at Florida may not be able to read anyway but the sure know how to play football. The Wolverines who are 16-3-1 in 20 regular season games against the SEC are 3-0 lifetime against the Gators including a 41-7 win in the Citrus Bowl the year before last. Something will have to give here as Michigan has won 28 straight openers and Florida hasn't lost a season opener since 1989 winning 27 in-a-row. This time the gators keep it close and possibly upset the Wolves outright. Take FLORIDA! |
09-01-17 | Boston College v. Northern Illinois +4 | 23-20 | Win | 100 | 12 h 56 m | Show
Boston College at Northern Illinois 9:30 ET Huskies (+) over Eagles- Boston College head coach Steve Addazio is starting his fifth season at the helm of the Eagles and has built a defense that has held opponents to 18 points or less in 16 of their last 22 contests. The problem for the Eagles is that they just don't more the ball all that well as his offense has thrown for just 144, 111 and 129 yards per game in the past three seasons. The last time these two met BC owned the ball 37:51 minutes to 22:09 for the Huskies and managed just a 17-14 win. This time they don't make it. Take NORTHERN ILLINOIS! |
08-31-17 | Seahawks v. Raiders +2 | 17-13 | Loss | -105 | 12 h 49 m | Show
Seattle at Oakland 10:10 ET Raiders (+) over Seahawks- Pete Carroll and the Seahawks have had their foot on the accelerator the entire pre-season going 3-0 both straight-up and ATS outscoring opponents 94-43. Oakland meanwhile has tried and successfully to keep their franchise player Derek Carr healthy and are 0-3 both straight-up and ATS. Tonight these two clubs will reverse rolls as the Raiders post their first win and hand Seattle wit's first loss. Both are meaningless now but will help their physic approaching the season opener. Take OAKLAND! |
08-31-17 | Giants +3 v. Patriots | 40-38 | Win | 100 | 9 h 13 m | Show
New York Giants at New England 7:30 ET Giants (+) over Patriots- This is always an interesting encounter as the Giants always seem to play their best when up against New England as past Super Bowls and pre-season results will attest. The Patriots were 0-2 entering last weeks encounter at Detroit and their starters built a 24-0 first quarter lead before their reserves gave up the 'number' as they had to come-from-behind to win 30-28 a non-cover. New York also ran up the score early against the Jets building a 29-3 half-time lead before winning 32-31 but they are 0-3 ATS this summer. Tonight, with both sides playing close-to-the-vest the Giants prevail. Take NEW YORK! |
08-27-17 | 49ers +5.5 v. Vikings | 31-32 | Win | 100 | 10 h 51 m | Show
San Francisco at Minnesota 8:00 ET 49ers (+) over Vikings- The last time these two clubs met the quarterbacking situation was much different. At that time San Francisco was rallying behind un-American Collin Kaepernick who threw for a poultry 165 yards with no TD's but managed to win 20-3 behind Carlos Hyde's 168 yards rushing (team total 230 yards on the ground) and two touchdowns. The Vikings were starting Teddy Bridgewater who passed for 231 yards but were done in by a defense that allowed the 49ers to average over six-yards per carry. This time around both clubs will have different starters under center as they both enter this fray off losses last time out. Aside form all that the underdog is 5-1 ATS in the last six meetings and is the way to go here. Take SAN FRANCISCO! |
08-26-17 | Chargers +2.5 v. Rams | Top | 21-19 | Win | 100 | 10 h 49 m | Show |
L.A. Chargers at L.A. Rams 8:00 ET Chargers (+) over Rams- The first 'new' battle for Los Angeles takes place Saturday and the undefeated Rams host the winless Chargers in what is sure to become a heated rivalry. The Rams are now being led by No. 1 overall draft pick second year quarterback geoff Goff who will be opposed by the Chargers veteran QB Phillip Rivers. Most likely, neither of these clubs will make the playoffs as they just have too many better teams to climb over. The Rams who won just 4-of-16 games last season and averaged only 14 points per contest while the Chargers averaged almost 26 points with their five wins. Take CHARGERS! |
08-26-17 | Bills +3.5 v. Ravens | 9-13 | Loss | -110 | 9 h 35 m | Show
Buffalo at Baltimore 7:00 ET Bills (+) over Ravens- Well, these two combatants have had two totally different outcomes of their per-season games to date. Buffalo (0-2) has a new coach and a number of different players but the results seem to be the same as usual. Baltimore who miss out on the playoffs last season (8-8) have dominated their two opponents in pre-season action taking down Washington 23-3 and Miami 31-7 while the Bills struggled to score against Minnesota 10 points and Philadelphia 17 points in two losses. The Ravens don't need this and the Bills need to show some improvement. Take BUFFALO! |
08-26-17 | Cardinals v. Falcons -3.5 | 24-14 | Loss | -105 | 8 h 29 m | Show
Arizona at Atlanta Falcons (-) over Cardinals- The defending NFC Champions have opened their pre-season 0-2 and the Falcons will be hosting Arizona who are 1-1 in these meaningless match-ups. Arizona is off a disappointing 7-8-1 season where injuries took their toll and their quarterback play dropped off significantly. Atlanta opened with two road games and will look to post a win at home to re-establish confidence. I don't expect this one to be that close. Take the FALCONS! |
08-25-17 | Patriots v. Lions +3 | 30-28 | Win | 100 | 8 h 28 m | Show
New England at Detroit 7:00 ET Lions (+) over Patriots- The Super Bowl Champions who were 16-3 ATS last season are just going through the motions during this preseason (0-2, 0-2 ATS) although they have scored 24 and 23 points in their two losses to Jacksonville and Houston. Detroit enters this contest with two wins against arguably to two worst teams in the NFL defeating Indianapolis 28-3 and the Jets 16-6. Now, with Matt Stafford about to sign a contract extension it is the Lions' defense that has come to the fore-front not allowing a touchdown yet this preseason. I expect New England to stay low-key until the game really count. Take DETROIT! |
08-24-17 | Panthers v. Jaguars +1.5 | 24-23 | Win | 100 | 9 h 47 m | Show
Carolina at Jacksonville 7:30 ET Jaguars (+) over Panthers- Quarterbacks are the focal point of tonight's encounter between the Panthers and Jaguars as Carolina's Cam Newton is supposed to make his first appearance since should surgery and Chad Henne will start in place of pitiful Blake Bortles. That being said, the most important player in or out of the line-up will be Jacksonville's Leonard Fournette who should see playing time as his ankle 'heels.' Carolina will look to stay healthy here while the Jaguars must look to improve. Take JACKSONVILLE! |
08-21-17 | Giants v. Browns +1.5 | Top | 6-10 | Win | 100 | 9 h 25 m | Show |
New York Giants at Cleveland 8:00 ET Browns (+) over Giants- The Giants are expected to give the Cowboys a run for the NFL East as they have addressed their lack of running game in the off-season and have what could be considered the best receiving corps in the league. Eli Manning is one of the elite quarterbacks and with this group to throw to with Odell Beckham leading the way but he won't be seeing much if any action tonight. Cleveland has a long way to go to gain respectability but with 'fresh' personnel and better coaching they will show marked improvement. The Browns will show up here but the Giants may not. Take CLEVELAND! |
08-19-17 | Broncos v. 49ers -2.5 | 33-14 | Loss | -115 | 10 h 20 m | Show
Denver at San Francisco 10:00 ET 49ers (-) over Broncos- Since the departure of Peyton Manning the Broncos have been looking for a 'big-time' quarterback that can lead them back to the Super Bowl and the competition for the starting spot continues between Trevor Siemian and Paxton Lynch. In Denver's pre-season win over Chicago neither QB really separated themselves for the other a Siemian passed for 51 yards and Lynch just 42 yards. San Francisco was more impressive in their opening 27-17 win over Kansas City as their defense held the Chiefs to just 31 yards rushing. The Niners are fighting for respectability and come up big in this meaningless encounter. Take SAN FRANCISCO! |
08-19-17 | Bears +3 v. Cardinals | 24-23 | Win | 100 | 10 h 13 m | Show
Chicago at Arizona 10:00 ET Bears (+) over Cardinals- Arizona had their way against Oakland in their 2nd pre-season contest (played and lost to Dallas 20-18 in the HOF game) as the Raiders sat all their impact players. The Bears and their fans were anxious to see how No. 1 draft pick Mitchell Trubisky went 18-for-25 and 166 yards and a touchdown. Chicago still insists that Mike Glennon is their starter despite going just 2-of-8 for 20 yards and one interception in the opener. The Bears had two turnovers that were costly and the Broncos committed none. This rivalry going back to the days when both these team payed in Chicago and it has always meant more to the Cardinals but now-a-days it's the Bears with incentive. Take CHICAGO! |
08-19-17 | Packers v. Redskins -3 | Top | 21-17 | Loss | -115 | 8 h 47 m | Show |
Green Bay at Washington 7:30 ET Redskins (-) over Packers- It has always been said about the NFL pre-season and often enough about the regular season as well that 'you' should never make evaluations and over-react to a teams performance their first game out. For the fans of the clubs from the Nation's Capitol the Redskins can't possible be as bad as they looked (or played) against the Ravens in their opener as they garnered only 138 total yards on offense. Washington had only 39 yards rushing and allowed four sacks and scored just 3-points their 20-3 loss. Green Bay meanwhile won easily at home 24-9 over Philadelphia and are now getting points from a team that managed just a field goal. The Redskins are favored by more points then the scored last week and that sends up a 'red flag.' Take WASHINGTON! |
08-18-17 | Vikings +4 v. Seahawks | 13-20 | Loss | -110 | 12 h 55 m | Show
Minnesota at Seattle 10:00 ET Vikings (+) over Seahawks- Boy, Seattle must be feeling good about themselves after their 48-17 win over San Diego in their pre-season opener Sunday night. They jumped out early and after scoring 24-points in the second quarter just shut out the Chargers in the second half. Minnesota, meanwhile in their pre-season opener got the best of a weak Buffalo Bills squad 17-10 and under coach Mike Zimmer the Vikings have gone 13-1 in 14 pre-season games. The Vikings starting offensive unit played three series and managed just one first down against the Bills, I look for a better offensive effort here. Take MINNESOTA! |
08-17-17 | Bucs v. Jaguars +2 | 12-8 | Loss | -110 | 9 h 23 m | Show
Tampa Bay at Jacksonville 8:00 ET Jaguars over Buccaneers- The HBO Mini-series 'Hard Knocks' can reveal more about a team then the level of talent on a squad it show moral and coaching styles as well. Tampa Bay seems to be a team on the brink of moving into playoff contention but will need more consistent play from the offense that gain 320 yards against the Bengals in their 23-12 loss at Cincinnati. On the road again they make the short trip to Jacksonville as the Jaguars come back for their home 'opener' after an impressive 31-24 win over New England. With a lot of positive energy the Jags get it done. Take JACKSONVILLE! |
08-12-17 | Titans v. Jets +3 | 3-7 | Win | 100 | 9 h 51 m | Show
Tennessee at New York Jets 7:30 ET Jets (+) over Titans- The NFL 'experts' say that the Jets are by-far the worst team in the league and most likely have some of the weakest coaching staffs as well. Tennessee in the meantime is emerging as a possible playoff contender led by quarterback Marcus Mariota who is becoming one of the NFL's more 'elite.' The trouble today is that Mariota should see very little playing time if any and New York will be battling for respectability (even if it is pre-season) and their jobs. The quarterback situation with the Jets is pitiful but they ALL will be fighting for a spot. Take the J-E-T-S! |

08-11-17 | Steelers +3.5 v. Giants | 20-12 | Win | 100 | 8 h 20 m | Show
Pittsburgh at New York Giants 7:00 ET Steelers over Giants- The 'buzz' in New York is that the Giants offense will be explosive this season with Odell Beckham maturing and a slue of speedy wide receivers that will compliment veteran Eli Manning at quarterback. The Giants' running game was their weakness on offense (29th) last season and Pittsburgh still presents a 'Steel Curtain' on defense that will be difficult to penetrate. Like New York, Pittsburgh running game is in question as Le'Veon Bell continues his holdout. The Giants will be holding out ALL of their talent on offense and the Steelers that advantage. Take PITTSBURGH! |
08-10-17 | Falcons v. Dolphins +2 | 20-23 | Win | 100 | 9 h 42 m | Show
Atlanta at Miami 7:00 ET Dolphins over Falcons- I wondering how the Super Bowl hangover for the Falcons will affect them for a pre-season game. After blowing a 25-point lead in the 'Big Game' Atlanta has had six months to dwell on their meltdown against the Patriots. Miami of course enters the pre-season with quarterback issues on a team that dropped their final two games last season including a playoff game to the Steelers. The Dolphins defeated Atlanta in Orlando last year during the pre-season but are 3-7 ATS in their last 10 exhibition games. Coach Adam Case needs to find out answers fast and will push his unit. Take MIAMI! |
08-03-17 | Cowboys v. Cardinals +1.5 | 20-18 | Loss | -110 | 23 h 14 m | Show
Dallas vs. Arizona 8:30 ET Cardinals over Cowboys- I really don't expect the Cowboys to show much here coming off the great comeback season that they had last year. The 'big guns' for Dallas might make a token appearance but I even doubt that, while Arizona after the season they had last year will be looking to establish confidence and a positive attitude moving forward. The Cardinals have more to gain here even though it's a meaningless exhibition players will be fighting for their jobs. This aids the Cardinals. Take ARIZONA! |
06-07-17 | Warriors v. Cavs +4 | Top | 118-113 | Loss | -110 | 11 h 11 m | Show |
Cleveland at Golden State 8:00 ET Cavaliers (+) over Warriors- In the 'you have got to be kidding' department their appears to me to be only one way to go in this Game 2 of the NBA Finals. I am still waiting for someone on the Cavaliers to 'pick up' Kevin Durant defensively as he played one-on-none in the first game as Cleveland was slept-walking through-out they night. Maybe, the Cavs just can't match-up with the Warriors this season with the difference being Durant. Despite what we saw in Game one there is only one way to go here. Take CLEVELAND! |
06-04-17 | Cavs +9 v. Warriors | Top | 113-132 | Loss | -105 | 9 h 2 m | Show |
Cleveland at Golden State 8:00 ET Cavaliers (+) over Warriors- In the 'you have got to be kidding' department their appears to me to be only one way to go in this Game 2 of the NBA Finals. |
06-01-17 | Cavs +7 v. Warriors | Top | 91-113 | Loss | -102 | 12 h 45 m | Show |
Warriors (-) over Cavaliers- The results of this series will change (the media's) perception of two of today's greats. The storyline will either put LeBron James with a win into and possibly beyond the status of Michael Jordan while a loss for the Warriors will for ever tarnish Kevin Durant as a player that isn't a winner. Golden State is undefeated (12-0) in the play offs sweeping four-game series with Portland, Utah and San Antonio and has had nine full days of rest while the Cavs are 12-1 in the playoffs losing just once at Boston after building a 21-point lead. Defense and the pace will be the key and I expect Cleveland to control both. Take the CAVALIERS! |
05-25-17 | Cavs v. Celtics +11 | Top | 135-102 | Loss | -115 | 11 h 54 m | Show |
Cleveland at Boston 8:30 ET Celtics (+) over Cavaliers- The Eastern Conference finals return to the scene of the crime so to speak as the Celtics host Cleveland down 3-1 in Game Five. Boston lost the first two of this series at home by a combined 57 points as the Cavs had their way with the No. 1 seed twice on their court. The Celtics don't have the same type of firer-power that the Cavaliers possess but they have enough grit and determination to keep this one close. Take the points with BOSTON! |
05-19-17 | Cavs v. Celtics +6.5 | Top | 130-86 | Loss | -110 | 11 h 18 m | Show |
Cleveland at Boston 8:30 ET Celtics (+) over Cavaliers- From what I saw, from what we all saw in Game 1, I have a better understanding of why Cleveland just gave up the No. 1 seed the final two weeks of the regular season laying down and allowing Boston to get the home court advantage. It's obvious that the Cavaliers have no fear of the Celtics and feel the Lebron can dominate any time he wants. Little Super Star Isiah Thomas found it difficult to get open shots as James guarded him when possible and it was too much for Thomas to overcome. Tonight, Boston will Brad Stevens will make adjustments that get the Celtics the money. Take BOSTON! |
05-17-17 | Cavs v. Celtics +5 | Top | 117-104 | Loss | -110 | 11 h 15 m | Show |
Cleveland at Boston 8:00 ET Celtics (+) over Cavaliers- After going 8-0 and sweeping the first two playoff series 4-0, 4-0 Cleveland must shake off a nine-day rust entering Boston for this Game 1 Eastern Conference title. The media wants to know if having nine days off between this playoff series will effect the Cavaliers play. Players were given 'vacation time' (Lebron went to France) and many believe it will be difficult for them to 'get back' into the swing of things without rust. The Celtics meanwhile, are off their seven game series with Washington and are game ready. Take BOSTON! |
05-15-17 | Wizards +5 v. Celtics | Top | 105-115 | Loss | -105 | 23 h 52 m | Show |
Washington at Boston 8:00 ET Wizards (+) over Celtics- With a minute to go in Game 6 I thought this series was done! Boston had a five-point lead and the ball and I was thinking of Game 1 versus the Cavaliers. Then bingo as it happens to so many of these teams under pressure the Celtics start making mistakes and even though they got 'us' the money their performance late in that game has to linger on their minds. Yes, I am aware of the home team's record in this series (regular season too) they were 9-0 both straight-up and ATS before the Wizards non-cover victory on Friday, but that trend has ended now. With probably more overall talent the Wiz get the call. Take WASHINGTON! |
05-14-17 | Spurs v. Warriors -9.5 | Top | 111-113 | Loss | -105 | 6 h 9 m | Show |
San Antonio at Golden State 3:30 ET Warriors (-) over Spurs- The NBA world went into shock as the Spurs went to Houston without two key components Tony Parker and Kawhi Leonard who are sidelined for Game 6. Playing without 40% of their starting lineup the Spurs as a 9-point underdog destroyed the Rockets 114-75 in the biggest playoff victory margin of the season. San Antonio took 2-of-3 meetings this season including an opening night 129-100 victory in October but this time around it's the Warriors that explode offensively. Take GOLDEN STATE! |
05-12-17 | Celtics +5 v. Wizards | Top | 91-92 | Win | 100 | 9 h 6 m | Show |
Boston at Washington 8:00 ET Celtics (+) over Wizards- Washington has been playing in spurts. Especially at home where they have won twice against the Celtics without a loss. After opening this series with a 16-0 run in Boston the Wizards lost the game by 123-111. In Game 3 and Game 4 at home they ran streaks of 22-0 and 26-0 in blowout victories. Home teams have had huge wins going 5-0 ATS so far but Boston is 9-4 ATS in the last 13 meetings overall. This time out the trend ends. Take the CELTICS! |
05-11-17 | Spurs v. Rockets -7 | Top | 114-75 | Loss | -104 | 11 h 45 m | Show |
San Antonio at Houston 8:00 ET Rockets (-) over Spurs- Hold-on a minute...The Spurs who are the No. 2 seed in the West are a heavier underdog (+7) at Houston then the Rockets (+5.5) were at San Antonio. My first thoughts are that Kawhi Leonard is injury is more severe then we are being let-on. The Spurs were 2-0 at Houston during the regular season and are 4-1 ATS in their last five meetings there. James Harden the unstoppable force on the Rockets is off a terrible performance in Game 5 committing nine turnovers and shooting poorly. I expect that all to turn around tonight. Take HOUSTON! |
05-10-17 | Wizards +4.5 v. Celtics | 101-123 | Loss | -110 | 9 h 29 m | Show
Washington at Boston 8:00 ET Wizards (-) over Celtics- After reeling off six straight playoff victories including the first two games of this series the Celtics have taken in on the chin the last two in Washington. The Wizards won the last two contests (?) by a combined 46 points and that including a 26-0 run in Game 4 as Boston committed 20 turnovers. The flash and glory so far this series has been shinning on Isaiah Thomas who scored 53 points in Game 2 but was held to 32 total points in the two games in Washington as John Wall made his presence known by averaging 27.8 points, 12.3 assists and 2.8 steals. The Wiz have the confidence and man power to over come the Celtics here. Take WASHINGTON! |
05-09-17 | Rockets +5.5 v. Spurs | 107-110 | Win | 100 | 10 h 41 m | Show
Houston at San Antonio 8:00 ET Rockets (+) over Spurs- The Spurs are finding replacing the injured Tony Parker more difficult then they anticipated. Rookie Dejounte Murray starting for Parker has averaged just five points and 1.3 assists and backup Patty Mills averaged 13.5 points and 3.5 assists. These numbers are pedestrian and don't make for a winning playoff production. Houston lost like the Spurs lost a key component as their center Nene will be sidelined the remainder of the season with a groin injury. Rockets James Harden scored 71 points in his two home games but only 33 in San Antonio. That will change tonight. Take HOUSTON! |
05-08-17 | Warriors v. Jazz +8.5 | 121-95 | Loss | -110 | 10 h 26 m | Show
Golden State at Utah 9:00 ET Jazz (+) over Warriors- Well, Golden State who lost to Cleveland in the Finals last season can match the Cavaliers with their eighth straight playoff victory with a win tonight at Utah. Word is Warriors coach Steve Kerr might be able to return to the team before the end of the playoffs but it appears his club really doesn't need him much. This is a game where Klay Thompson had only one field goal and Curry was just 6-of-20 from the floor. In the 4th quarter of Game 3 Utah had a 1-point lead and within 30-seconds Durant, Curry and then Durant again hit 3-pointers that gave the Warriors a lead that they never relinquished. But, this time the prideful Jazz play a full 48 minutes. Take UTAH! |
05-07-17 | Spurs v. Rockets -5.5 | 104-125 | Win | 100 | 12 h 37 m | Show
San Antonio at Houston 9:00 ET Rockets (-) over Spurs- The veteran Spurs have shown their mettle by recovering from a 27-point loss in Game 1 of this series by bouncing back and winning the nest two by an average of 18 points. The Game 3 103-92 win at Houston was particularly impressive as San Antonio did it with All-Star Tony Parker who is out the rest of the season. The Spurs have don't it by not allowing the Rockets to get free for 3-point shots after Houston took 50 attempts in the series opening game. There are a couple of trends that Houston will have to buck as they are 1-7 ATS in their last eight home games with San Antonio 4-0 ATS in the last fur meetings in Houston. This time the Rockets blast off once again. Take HOUSTON! |
05-07-17 | Celtics +4.5 v. Wizards | Top | 102-121 | Loss | -107 | 9 h 7 m | Show |
Boston at Washington 6:30 ET Celtics (+) over Wizards- Scoring steaks have been the forte of the Wizards as they raced out to a 16-0 lead in Game 1 of this series (lost 123-111) and came on with a 22-0 run in the first quarter of Game 3 a 116-89 win. Washington has also become the 'physical' team in the series knocking out Celtics guard Isaiah Thomas' front teeth as he dropped from a high of 53 points to a low of 13. There were eight technical fouls and three ejections in Thursday's contest as tension rolled over from regular season issues. Two key trends bring the Celtics to the forefront as they are 6-1 ATS after losing by 10 points or more and they have won eight of the last 11 meetings. Take BOSTON! |
05-06-17 | Warriors v. Jazz +6 | Top | 102-91 | Loss | -105 | 11 h 37 m | Show |
Golden State at Utah 8:30 ET Jazz (+) over Warriors- Now, let me think about this...the thing that is on the minds of the Golden State Warriors is 'where can they party in Utah?' Yes, they have won the first two games of this series easily (0-2 ATS) and they are 6-0 ATS in their last six road games. We all understand the overall firepower of the Warriors but everything take a different perspective on the NBA playoff road. Take UTAH! |
05-05-17 | Spurs +5 v. Rockets | Top | 103-92 | Win | 100 | 11 h 35 m | Show |
San Antonio at Houston 9:39 ET Spurs (+) over Rockets- I know I've seen teams come back from losses in a big way but the 52-point turn around from Game 1 (Rockets win 126-99) and Game 2 (Spurs win 121-96) is the biggest swing in point differential I can remember. Now, San Antonio will be without point guard Tony Parker who is averaging 16 points in the playoffs will miss the rest of the season after he suffered a ruptured quadricep and the Spurs will have to adjust. The Rockets have struggled to 'cover' at home going 1-6 ATS in their last seven as hosts. Houston captured the Spurs attention with their humiliating Game 1 blowout loss and they have adjusted their style and intensity. Take SAN ANTONIO! |
05-05-17 | Cavs v. Raptors +4.5 | 115-94 | Loss | -105 | 8 h 57 m | Show
Cleveland at Toronto 7:00 ET Raptors (+) over Cavaliers- Like last season in the NBA playoffs Cleveland has taken a 2-0 lead with a pair of convincing home wins over the Raptors. After a pair of wins and non-covers in their opening series against Indiana the Cavaliers have reeled of four straight ATS wins and is 6-2 ATS against the Raptors in their last eight meetings. LeBron James has re-established the fact that he is the most dominating player in basketball as he has elevated his play averaging 34.2 points in the post-season. In 2016 after the Cavs took the first two at home and then went to Toronto and lost both games there before returning home and winning the series 4-2. Expect more of the same this time around. Take TORONTO! |
05-04-17 | Jazz +12.5 v. Warriors | 104-115 | Win | 100 | 12 h 52 m | Show
Utah at Golden State 10:30 ET Jazz (+) over Warriors- I've heard two different 'takes' off the Warriors Game 1 106-94 non-cover win. To tell the truth Golden State looked like they were in command through-out and were just toying with the Jazz and if not for poor 3-point shooting (7-of-29) and should have 'covered' easily. On the other side I hear 'hey, Gordon Hayward was just 4-of-15 scoring only 12 points and will come-back with a good game. I agree but that doesn't necessarily constitute a win. Not that it matters much but Steve Curry suffered a left ankle injury in game one and missed practice yesterday. They say he is 'all right' but with the Jazz 6-0 ATS in their last six road games I'll take UTAH! |
05-04-17 | Celtics +6 v. Wizards | Top | 89-116 | Loss | -107 | 9 h 14 m | Show |
Boston at Washington 8:00 ET Celtics (+) over Wizards- Since dropping the opening to playoff games to Chicago the Celtics have reeled off six straight wins and 'covers' as the entire team rallied around Isaiah Thomas' personal tragedy. Thomas scored 51 points on what would have been his sister's 23rd birthday and was almost matched by John Wall (40 points) until the final pressure minutes in the fourth quarter and overtime. Boston is 8-2 ATS in the last 10 meetings and are 5-0 ATS in their last five after a straight-up win. Take BOSTON! |
05-03-17 | Rockets v. Spurs -5 | 96-121 | Win | 100 | 11 h 24 m | Show
Houston at San Antonio 9:30 ET Spurs (-) over Rockets- The Houston Rockets have turned their playoff series into a 3-point shooting contest (see Game 1) as they made 22-of-50 from beyond the arch winning their sixth consecutive playoff games in San Antonio. The problem for Houston is that they are 0-4 ATS in their last four games following a straight-up win of more then 10 points. The Rockets shot better (44%) from long range then the Spurs did from 2-point range (36.9%) as San Antonio rested their starters for more then 30 minutes each. This time out take the SPURS! |
05-03-17 | Raptors +7.5 v. Cavs | Top | 103-125 | Loss | -108 | 9 h 38 m | Show |
Toronto at Cleveland 7:00 ET Raptors (+) over Cavaliers- Well, I guess that answers that question...what question is that you ask? After a losing final month of the regular season it is, Can the Cavaliers just turn it on any time they want? Yep, it appears so. Cleveland has won five straight playoff games since their last regular season game (a home loss versus Toronto) covering the last three. Toronto now down 0-1 once again in playoff series has lost their opening game of a playoff series 12 of 13 times but they are 5-1 ATS after a straight-up loss. Take TORONTO! |
05-02-17 | Wizards v. Celtics -5.5 | Top | 119-129 | Win | 100 | 9 h 54 m | Show |
Washington at Boston 8:00 ET Celtics (-) over Wizards- After dropping their first two games to Chicago the Celtics have stormed back with five straight wins and covers. The Wizards defeated Atlanta in six-games as their guard based offense ran past the Hawks. Washington already realizes that their guards won't be able to dominate Boston's front court as Isaiah Thomas, Avery Bradley and Marcus Smart provide defense and scoring. The Wizards are just 2-7 ATS in the last nine meetings and are 0-6 ATS in their last six meetings in Boston! Take the CELTICS! |
05-01-17 | Rockets v. Spurs -5.5 | Top | 126-99 | Loss | -115 | 11 h 0 m | Show |
Houston at San Antonio 9:30 ET Spurs (-) over Rockets- Last season the Rockets James Harden claimed that 'he' was the MVP and this year he said it again. Only, this year he went head-to-head with his 'MVP' competition in the playoffs getting the best of Russell Westbrook and now he up against one of the 'other' MVP choices in Kawhi Leonard. Teams win Championships not individuals and the Spurs have a deeper team. Houston led the NBA in 3-point attempts per game but San Antonio led the NBA in 3-point percentage (39.1%) while the Rockets shot 28.4%. Tonight, that will be the difference. Take SAN ANTONIO! |
04-30-17 | Jazz +3.5 v. Clippers | Top | 104-91 | Win | 100 | 7 h 42 m | Show |
Utah at L.A. Clippers 3:30 ET Jazz (+) over Clippers- Okay, so the Clippers won a game they 'had to win' and kudos to them but I'm still not a believer. The question is are they better without Blake Griffin as the numbers might indicate or are they riding on a fragile point guard that I have yet to see do it. Now, that has been said about many athletes until the win...but, some never do! The question on the Utah side is can Rudy Gobert who has been hobbled with knee injuries can fend off DeAndre Jordan. Gordon Hayward does not crack under pressure. Take the JAZZ! |
04-30-17 | Wizards v. Celtics -4.5 | 111-123 | Win | 100 | 4 h 9 m | Show
Washington at Boston 1:00 ET Celtics (-) over Wizards- After dropping the first two games at home the No. 1 seed Celtics steamrolled the Bulls 105-83 in Chicago Friday. Washington is a guard orientated team that is lead by two good ones and sometimes unstoppable in their own wright with John Wall and Bradley Beal. Beal averaged 30 points in the final three games against Atlanta but the Celtics have a counter. It could be Avery Bradley but it is more likely Isiah Thomas who averaged 29 points this season. Thomas is off the emotional roll-a-coaster that started with Game 1 and will lead the way. Take BOSTON! |
04-28-17 | Clippers v. Jazz -5.5 | 98-93 | Loss | -110 | 11 h 15 m | Show
L.A. Clippers at Utah 10:30 ET Jazz (-) over Clippers- What did you expect the Clippers to actually put up a fight when they are given a chance to lay-down. The excuses are already in place, another case of getting an opportunity to blame injuries on their poor play. We have heard this story out of them a number of times during the post season the past handful of years. Utah is the kind of team that spurs on after a win going 3-0-1 ATS after a win. Add that Los Angeles is 6-16-1 ATS in their last 23 meetings in Utah. Jazz win third straight tonight and end the series. Take the JAZZ! |
04-28-17 | Celtics v. Bulls +3 | Top | 105-83 | Loss | -111 | 9 h 52 m | Show |
Boston at Chicago 8:00 ET Bulls (+) over Celtics- The Bulls jumped out to a quick start (2-0) in this No.1 versus No. 8 opening round matchup but Boston has rebounded into position to close the series with what could be their fourth straight win here. The Celtics started the series with heavy emotional baggage as the death of the 21-year old sister of All-Star guard Isiah Thomas and dropped the first two at home. Jimmy Butler the Bulls leading scorer when to the free throw line one once in Game 4 in Boston after going to the line 23 times in Chicago in Game 4. Both Butler and the Bulls will rebound tonight. Take CHICAGO! |
04-28-17 | Wizards +3 v. Hawks | 115-99 | Win | 100 | 8 h 25 m | Show
Washington at Atlanta 7:30 ET Wizards (+) over Hawks- All season long I have been 'touting' the fact that I don't believe the Hawks can win close games down the stretch and they proved me right in Game 5 as they failed to score in the final 68 seconds making decision errors. The Wizards were the best team in the NBA the final two months which coincided with the return of Bradley Beal who combined with John Wall have one of the most formidable back courts in basketball. Although Atlanta is 5-0 ATS in their last five home games that streak of 'covers' ends here. Take WASHINGTON! |
04-27-17 | Spurs v. Grizzlies +4.5 | Top | 103-96 | Loss | -110 | 11 h 26 m | Show |
San Antonio at Memphis 9:30 ET Grizzlies (+) over Spurs- The home team is 5-0 in this Best-of-7 series both straight-up and ATS as the Grizzlies enter Game 6 down 3-2. Memphis held 'service' as well during the regular season as they have have won the last four meetings and 'covered' when hosting. Defense is the key for Memphis as they held the Spurs to 42.4% shooting at home while allowing the Spurs to shoot 52.2% in San Antonio. The Grizzlies lead the playoff teams in free throw shooting hitting 87.8%. Take MEMPHIS! |
04-26-17 | Hawks +6 v. Wizards | Top | 99-103 | Win | 100 | 8 h 47 m | Show |
Atlanta at Washington 6:00 ET Hawks (+) over Wizards- It's sort of like a 'Tale of Two Cities' with both clubs holding serve and winning at home. Now, that is not so unusual in the NBA but the manner in which the home teams won left no doubt. But, after the way Atlanta rebounded from an 0-2 deficit with Paul Millsap dominating in the paint and Dwight Howard contributing defensively the Hawks are brimming with confidence. Washington was outscored in the paint 104-64 in Atlanta and tho they will sure-up that area of need it won't be enough. Take ATLANTA! |
04-25-17 | Thunder v. Rockets -7.5 | Top | 99-105 | Loss | -103 | 13 h 52 m | Show |
Oklahoma City at Houston 8:00 ET Rockets (-) over Thunder- All season long I have had problems playing 'on' the Thunder believing that one man can not defeat five players. On Sunday, I thought that Russell Westbrook's supporting cast could do enough to win at home in critical Game 4...I was wrong! The trouble here is that Westbrook can take his team just so far and if he doesn't have a clutch 4th quarter Oklahoma City has no chance. One can make the point that the Rockets are just 1-5 ATS in their last six home games but we see that the Thunder are just 3-13 ATS in their last 16 trips to Houston. Take the ROCKETS! |
04-24-17 | Bucks v. Raptors -6 | 93-118 | Win | 100 | 11 h 15 m | Show
Milwaukee at Toronto 7:00 ET Raptors (-) over Bucks- After Sunday's debacle it's difficult to post anything with much confidence but we will forge ahead just the same. It appears that the Raptors have 'righted the ship' so to speak as DeMar DeRozan returned to form. After getting shut out from the field in Game 3 DeRozan show why he is an All-star by scoring 33 points in Game 4. Milwaukee's budding superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo is starting to show signs of wear and tear as this series gets more physical each game. Returning home should help the Raptors 3-point shooting which at 31.3 percent. Take TORONTO! |
04-23-17 | Clippers +2.5 v. Jazz | 98-105 | Loss | -103 | 13 h 41 m | Show
L.A. Clippers at Utah 9:00 ET Clippers (-) over Jazz- Here 'we' go again. Friday, I explained how much I like the Jazz and don't really care too much for the Clippers and yet posted the winner with Los Angeles. Now, am I going to the well too often? Not, really because it's just the second time but I still feel uneasy. The Blake Griffin situation brings more doubt into the equation. Still, the Clippers are 4-1 ATS in their last five meetings in Salt Lake City and they are 6-1 ATS in their last seven games against teams with a home winning record. It looks difficult but they are the side...at least for me! Take LOS ANGELES! |
04-23-17 | Celtics v. Bulls +3 | 104-95 | Loss | -110 | 10 h 10 m | Show
Boston at Chicago 6:30 ET Bulls (+) over Celtics- When the Game 3 price opened with Chicago the favorite we told the 0-2 (series) Celtics who ran to the favorite and the ran the Bulls off the floor. Now, Boston has opened the favorite and the 'running of the Bulls' will be headed in the opposite direction. The trends for this contest point one one direction. To start with the Celtics are 0-4 ATS in their last four games following an ATS win, they are 1-6 ATS after a win by 10 points or more and finally Boston is 4-10-1 ATS in their last 15 meetings in the 'Windy City.' I could also add that Chicago is 7-0 ATS in their last seven games following a straight-up loss. It may be hard to do but...take the BULLS! |
04-22-17 | Warriors v. Blazers +6.5 | Top | 119-113 | Win | 100 | 15 h 23 m | Show |
Golden State at Portland 10:30 ET Trailblazers (+) over Warriors- I know this will be a tough on to take after what we have all witnessed the two games of this series. It has not gone like the No.1 versus No. 8 series between Boston and Chicago as it has gone the way most expect a No.1 seed to dominate a No. 8 seed. Even without Kevin Durant (they played plenty without him this season) their was little adjustment needed. The Warriors started to turn it on with about 10 games remaining and have gone 5-0 both straight-up and ATS in their last five road games. They have also had success in Portland going 11-5 ATS in their last 16 at the Moda Center. But, with that being said I see all to often when a team gets humiliated like that on national TV they come back with a focus and a purpose that is difficult to deal with. The Trailblazers are 5-0 ATS in their last five games following an ATS loss. Take PORTLAND! |

04-22-17 | Spurs v. Grizzlies +4 | 108-110 | Win | 100 | 13 h 46 m | Show
San Antonio at Memphis 8:00 ET Grizzlies (+) over Spurs- Many will see the Grizzlies win Thursday night was just one of the anomalies that happen and that San Antonio will simply come-to-play Saturday and win easily. Because, how can they lose again...maybe it will be the officiating that will spell the difference. The Spurs maybe well rested as none of their five starters played more then 30 minutes in the loss but they didn't play well. Memphis had lost 10 straight post-season games before Thursday's win and the liked the way it felt. The Grizzlies are growling and brimming with confidence as they are 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings at home and 5-2 ATS in the last seven meetings overall. Take the MEMPHIS! |
04-22-17 | Raptors +2.5 v. Bucks | 87-76 | Win | 100 | 8 h 49 m | Show
Toronto at Milwaukee 3:00 ET Raptors over Bucks- This really pains me because of how much I like the Bucks and dislike the Raptors. (I mean as far as teams go) Toronto fell into that woe-is-me attitude after missing some early shots and never played hard enough to get back into after Milwaukee built and early lead. (See Cavaliers) All-Nothing guard DeMar DeRozan failed to make a basket from the field and Kyle Lowry said they can recover because the the terrible feeling their performance left them with. I know that the Bucks are 4-0 ATS in the last four meetings and believe it's time for the Raptors to go on the attack. Take TORONTO! |
04-21-17 | Rockets +2.5 v. Thunder | 113-115 | Win | 100 | 13 h 43 m | Show
Houston at Oklahoma City 9:30 ET Rockets (+) over Thunder- Houston is not having trouble winning games but they are having difficulty 'covering' games going 1-10 ATS in their last 11 games overall. But, when they play in Oklahoma City they raise their effort to get it done as they are 5-0 ATS in their last five games on Oklahoma and 10-2 ATS in their last 12 meetings. Of course most believe that ball-hog and triple-double king Russell Westbrook is just so good that he can carry the Thunder on his back. Well, guess what the last triple-double ball hog Oscar Robertson never won anything either. (EVER!) James Harden can post triple-double of his own and has more team support. Take HOUSTON! |
04-21-17 | Celtics +1.5 v. Bulls | Top | 104-87 | Win | 100 | 10 h 15 m | Show |
Boston at Chicago 7:00 ET Celtics (+) over Bulls- Entering this series their was so much talk of how the Celtics under Brad Stevens leadership are 2-10 in the playoffs and haven't won a road playoff game. Well, he better win one quick after Boston's 'home' performances in the first two NBA playoff games. The No. 1 seed is down 0-2 and were totally out-played by the Bulls who had to win a tie-breaker over Miami to qualify for the post-season. Adding fuel to the fire Boston isn just 9-19-2 ATS in their last 30 meetings against the Bulls and 3-10-1 ATS in their last 14 games in Chicago. Yep, I know it, but I also know that of the Celtics don't win here they are toast. Take BOSTON! |
04-20-17 | Spurs v. Grizzlies +4 | Top | 94-105 | Win | 100 | 12 h 22 m | Show |
San Antonio at Memphis 9:30 ET Grizzlies (+) over Spurs- If Memphis is to have any chance of getting past the Spurs (fat chance) they will have to score more then 82 points which they posted in both Games 1 & 2 as the trail the series 0-2. The hoards who believe that it is Kawhi Leonard who is the MVP have been supported by his play making ALL 28 free throws that he has attempted while scoring 69 points in the two games. Memphis who was 2-0 at home against San Antonio during the regular season but are 0-4 ATS in their last four games overall. This time the Grizzlies compete four 48 minutes. Take MEMPHIS! |
04-20-17 | Raptors +1.5 v. Bucks | 77-104 | Loss | -105 | 11 h 45 m | Show
Toronto at Milwaukee 8:00 ET Raptors (+) over Bucks- The 'Greek Freak' destroyed the Raptors in Game 1 as Milwaukee posted an upset win but, in Game 2 Toronto made the necessary adjustments not allowing him room in the paint and recored a 106-100 win. Although the series in now tied 1-1 the Raptors are 0-2 ATS and have their work cut out for themselves to survive here. Milwaukee hasn't won a playoff series since 2001 and are just 1-4 ATS in the last five meetings at home. Add that the Raptors are 6-1 ATS in their last seven road games gives the reptiles the edge. Take TORONTO! |
04-20-17 | Cavs v. Pacers +3 | 119-114 | Loss | -115 | 10 h 34 m | Show
Cleveland at Indiana 7:00 ET Pacers (+) over Cavaliers- Before this series started it was LeBron James that called out his teammates and after starting the series 0-2 it is the Pacers' Paul George that has called out his teammates for their effort and performance. Lance Stephenson, Myles Turner and C.J Miles were the brunt of his frustration as as Indiana lost its composure. The Cavaliers J.R. Smith will most likely miss this contest due to a hamstring injury as Indiana has the home court advantage. Yes, it is Indiana that is 29-12 at home while the Cavs are under .500 on the road at 20-21 straight-up. As a matter of fact Cleveland is just 2-10-1 ATS in the last 13 meetings and 1-6-1 ATS in their last eight meetings in Indiana. Take the PACERS! |
04-19-17 | Blazers v. Warriors -13.5 | 81-110 | Win | 100 | 13 h 19 m | Show
Portland at Golden State 10:30 ET Warriors (-) over Trailblazers- Golden State has so many super-stars with Kevin Durant, Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson and yet it was Draymond Green who dominated play with 19 points, 12 rebounds, nine assists, five blocks and three steals in their 121-109 loss in Game 1. Portland has two dynamic guards in Daminan Lillard who scored 34 points in Game 1 and CJ McCollum had 41 but the rest of the team scored just 34. Portland always seems to struggle on the road where they are 16-27 and are 7-20 ATS in their last 27 meetings in Golden State. Lay-it! Take the WARRIORS! |
04-19-17 | Thunder +8 v. Rockets | Top | 111-115 | Win | 100 | 11 h 47 m | Show |
Oklahoma City at Houston 8:00 ET Thunder (+) over Rockets- There were no triple-doubles in Game 1 between James Harden and Russell Westbrook as the Rockets ran past Oklahoma City in the second half and won by 31 points. Not only was Westbrook shooting poorly (6-23) and turning the ball over (9) but the Thunder were out-rebounded 56-41 in Sunday's 118-87 loss. The two MVP candidates will once again give it their all but Oklahoma City is in a pressure situation. Houston who beats the Rockets like a drum (10-1 ATS in last 11) but they haven't done it of late going 1-9 ATS in their last 10 overall. Take THUNDER! |
04-19-17 | Hawks +5.5 v. Wizards | Top | 101-109 | Loss | -110 | 10 h 50 m | Show |
Atlanta at Washington 7:00 ET Hawks (+) over Wizards- After Game 1 a 114-107 win by Washington the Hawks were complaining that the Wizards were playing tough and fouling every chance they got. Atlanta went to the free throw line 39 times and don't like that because they are so weak on fundamentals like shooting free throws. Now, which is better the Hawks getting fouled or the Grizzlies against the Spurs not getting any calls. Maybe if Atlanta didn't commit 21 turnovers they would have a chance. The NBA's most-over-rated player Dwight Howard scored just seven points Sunday and will have to step it up here. Ha, I think he will. Take the HAWKS! |
04-18-17 | Jazz v. Clippers -9 | 91-99 | Loss | -105 | 13 h 44 m | Show
Utah at L.A. Clippers 10:30 ET Clippers (-) over Jazz- The Jazz jumped out to a 1-0 series lead after Joe Johnson hit a buzzer-beating shot that gave the Jazz a 97-95 win. But, the news wasn't all good for Utah as they lost center Rudy Gobert for at least Game 2 with a knee injury. Granted the Jazz played most of the entire game without him in the line-up but now the Clippers know what they have to contend with. Despite the loss the Clippers are 5-2 ATS in their last seven meetings and with Gobert out they will get it right here. Take LOS ANGELES! |
04-18-17 | Bulls +7 v. Celtics | 111-97 | Win | 100 | 10 h 8 m | Show
Chicago at Boston 8:00 ET Bulls (+) over Celtics- Maybe Boston was the No. 1 seed in the East but they are considered the 'weakest' 1-seed ever in NBA Playoff history. Now, maybe the Celtics will bounce-back here especially after after they way they blew Game 1 but they are 1-7 ATS in their last eight home games. Boston appears to have a home court advantage as they are 30-12 straight-up at home, but only 17-15 ATS. Take CHICAGO! |
04-18-17 | Bucks v. Raptors -7.5 | Top | 100-106 | Loss | -108 | 9 h 11 m | Show |
Milwaukee at Toronto 7:00 ET Raptors (-) over Bucks- The Bucks had lost 13 of their last 15 regular season games came out with a dominating 97-83 win over the Raptors in Game 1 of their Playoff series. Toronto managed just 32 pints in the second half as Milwaukee's Giannis Antetokounmpo was 13-of-18 scoring 28 points. Game 2 of any playoff series can be tricky but Toronto is 4-0 ATS in their last four games following a straight-up loss and they are still 5-2 ATS in their last seven meetings against the Bucks. Take TORONTO! |
04-17-17 | Grizzlies v. Spurs -11 | 82-96 | Win | 100 | 12 h 44 m | Show
Memphis at San Antonio 9:30 ET Spurs (-) over Grizzlies- The Spurs who were trailing the Grizzlies by 14-points in the first quarter turned it around by not allowing more then 19 points in any of the remaining three quarters as the posted a 111-82 romp over Memphis. The San Antonio guards just dominated as the Grizzlies' guards Vince Carter (imagine he is a starter) and Wayne Sheldon totaled just nine points between them. The Spurs ran past Memphis so fast that only two of their players put in more then 25 minutes of playing time. Take SAN ANTONIO! |
04-17-17 | Pacers v. Cavs -7.5 | Top | 111-117 | Loss | -115 | 9 h 7 m | Show |
Indiana and Cleveland 7:00 ET Cavaliers (-) over Pacers- After dominating play and shooting the 'lights' out of the ball the Cavaliers failed to 'cover' in Game 1 of their series because of poor foul shooting (52%). The Cavaliers blew a 10-point lead in the fourth quarter but still managed a 109-108 victory. Lance Stephenson who has played just seven games this season (Pacers signed him with six games remaining in the regular season) always seems to play well when he's up against LeBron James and had 16 points in Game 1. The Pacers are now just 13-28 on the road and will suffer once more tonight. Take CLEVELAND! |
04-16-17 | Thunder v. Rockets -7 | 87-118 | Win | 100 | 13 h 17 m | Show
Oklahoma City at Houston 9:00 ET Rockets (-) over Thunder- Most believe that the MVP of the league will be playing in this contest with the Triple-double rooters believe in ball hog Russell Westbrook while other believe in James Harden. We will save that argument for another time as LeBron takes over in the Playoffs. Harden was second in scoring (29.1) to Westbrook but led the NBA in assists (11.2) while averaging 8.1 rebounds while the Rockets won won the last three meetings straight-up. Oklahoma City is just 1-9 ATS in the last 10 meetings and are 1-5 ATS in Houston. Take the ROCKETS! |
04-16-17 | Bulls v. Celtics -6 | 106-102 | Loss | -110 | 11 h 36 m | Show
Chicago at Boston 6:30 ET Celtics (-) over Bulls- Chicago made it into the playoffs by winning their final two game by a combined 86 points over Orlando and Brooklyn. The Bulls will find the going a bit tougher here as Boston is 4-0 ATS at home against them in their last four meetings. Both of those final two crushing wins for Chicago came at home but on the road they are only 16-26. These two met five weeks ago in Boston and the Celtics run over and through the Bulls 100-80. Expect more of the same. Take BOSTON! |
04-16-17 | Hawks +5 v. Wizards | Top | 107-114 | Loss | -105 | 5 h 18 m | Show |
Atlanta at Washington 1:00 ET Hawks (+) over Wizards- Washington had one of the great runs in the NBA this season but finished losing five of their last eight and ended up with the No. 4 seed and will host Atlanta who is the No. 5 seed. Atlanta turned it on at the end of the regular season winning four straight until they 'rested' keys players in their season ending loss. The Hawks had dropped eight of nine without All-star Paul Millsap before turning it around the last five games when he returned to the lineup. Hawks fly here. Take ALTANTA! |
04-15-17 | Jazz +6 v. Clippers | 97-95 | Win | 100 | 15 h 43 m | Show
Utah at L.A. Clippers 10:30 ET Jazz (+) over Clippers- This has been a one-sided series for years as the Clippers have won 18 of the last 20 meetings. However, Utah is 18-6 with Derrick Favors, who missed 31 games in the line-up. Los Angeles has won seven straight entering the playoffs while the Jazz have won seven of their last nine entering the playoffs. In an oddity both teams have the exact same home and road record at 29-12 at home and 22-19 on the road. The Clippers have more flash but the Jazz play better defense. Take UTAH! |
04-15-17 | Grizzlies v. Spurs -9 | 82-111 | Win | 100 | 12 h 10 m | Show
Memphis at San Antonio 8:00 ET Spurs (-) over Grizzlies- Like the Cavaliers San Antonio come limping into the playoffs losing their last three and four of the last five. These two split their four games this season but the Spurs have defeated Memphis two of the three times that they have met in the playoffs. The Grizzlies losers of their last two are just 19-22 on the road while San Antonio is 31-10 at home. Although the Grizzlies are 4-0 ATS in the last four meetings they will fall here. Take SAN ANTONIO! |
04-15-17 | Pacers v. Cavs -8.5 | Top | 108-109 | Loss | -102 | 7 h 3 m | Show |
Indiana at Cleveland 3:30 ET Cavaliers (-) over Pacers- Oh boy, I can't tell you how much I like this bet! Here are the Cavaliers who had the top seed sewed up with four games to go and went on the lose their last four and ended up the No. 2 seed. Indiana has won five of six with Lance Stephenson in the lineup and he as he has shown in the past has no fear going up against LeBron James. The Pacers struggled on defense ranked 20th and Cleveland leads the NBA in 3-point percentage and 3-pointers made per game (13). The Cavaliers have won three of four against Indiana and they win here. Take CLEVELAND! |
04-12-17 | 76ers -2 v. Knicks | Top | 113-114 | Loss | -105 | 10 h 42 m | Show |
Philadelphia at New York 8:00 ET 76ers over Knicks- So, who is happier that the season is ending the Knicks or the 76ers? I believe I know as New York quit on the season some time in early February whereas Philadelphia has fought hard night after night. The 76ers have won two-of-three meetings this season and are 23-17 ATS on the road this year. New York has been talking about the off-season for months and now they get a chance to play golf. Take PHILADELPHIA! |
04-10-17 | Rockets v. Clippers -7 | Top | 96-125 | Win | 100 | 11 h 59 m | Show |
Houston at L.A. Clippers 10:30 ET Clippers (-) over Rockets- The Houston Rockets have shown the biggest improvement of all NBA teams this season and I need not go into the details. They are 'locked' into the No. 3 seed in the West and close their season at home against Minnesota on Wednesday. So,don't expect much out of the Rockets tonight as James Harden get a chance to rehab his sore wrist and is expected to 'rest' Lou Williams. The Clippers are tied with Utah for the fourth playoff spot and although the Rockets have dominated LA this season winning both meetings by a combined 43 points but will bring intensity into tonight contest. Take CLIPPERS! |
04-10-17 | Spurs -4.5 v. Blazers | Top | 98-99 | Loss | -110 | 10 h 22 m | Show |
San Antonio at Portland 10:00 ET Spurs (-) over Trailblazers- Portland has put together a great run to make the playoffs as the final and No. 8 seed and get to play Golden State in the first round. The Trailblazers have been playing with huge intensity and now get to play without the pressure that they have been carrying for the last month. The Spurs are the other hand are 'locked' into their No. 3 spot and haven't been playing well and now coach Gregg Popovich says, 'nobody is going to rest.' Stange price to lay on the road but tonight it's the SPURS! |
